Lovely hotel but we were disappointed to find the restaurant closed. There are other places to eat in Moulton but they were meant a good long walk in a bitterly cold evening or taking the car, worrying about parking, not having a drink, etc.

One night business trip. The welcome on arrival was very poor after a long day and drive up from London. Shouted at as to where I could and could not park my car when pulling into the car park and attempting to park in a spot reserved for hotel guests. I was told in no uncertain terms that I could not park where I was about to park (even though I was a hotel guest). After explaining I was a hotel guest I was still banished to the furthest ends of the car parking area. Very rude and totally unnecessary in my opinion.

Disappointed to learn upon arrival that there was no evening service / bar / restaurant. Very helpful lady at reception guided me to suitable eateries and there was a local village map in my room showing the same. My room was with a ‘cosy’ en suite with shower & toilet however I noticed some rooms had seperate facilities - I wouldn’t have stopped if I had been given one of these rooms! The room was comfortable but I think I’ve seen too many Hotel Inspectors not to notice dust in areas that possibly get overlooked. I arrived early (around 15:00hrs) and the heating wasn’t on so the room was chilly for a couple of hours. Nothing that tea & biscuits (provided) couldn’t solve. Breakfast was a generous affair, again with excellent service.

I received a warm welcome, the bedroom was clean with a recently refurbished bathroom. A very warm night but a fan was available which helped. Breakfast was fresh, hot and great quality. Overall a great stay and would reuse.

Got that and was greeted with a very friendly lady at reception, who couldn’t be more helpful. The place was clean and comfortable and the service at breakfast was exceptional along with the breakfast that was very very tasty, and as my wife was a little worse for where they even made up a sandwich for me to take back to her room without asking a great little hotel run by fantastic people.

Staff at the poplars really made this trip. Simple, personal, and, attentive service. Breakfast was excellent with lots of options and the poplars has a lovely traditional feel. 15 min drive to Northampton with regular buses. I’d definitely recommend and book again.
