10/10. No obvious faults noticed to report. Very nice indeed. Parking was easy too. Wendover is a great location for the walking / rambling types too. Great Hotel and restaurant!

A refurbished coaching inn. My room (16) was in the building across the yard. All very new, well-appointed and quiet. Homemade chocolates, fresh milk Breakfast was exceptional - didn't eat in the evening but the meals looked good. Free parking.

Really nice room, very good breakfast, onsite ev charger, very dog friendly, great location, near shops, restaurants, dog walks. Staff very helpful and friendly. Would recommend.

Staff were lovely and the pub itself is nice. However, my bedroom was right next to the car park and if I kept the shutters open, everyone could see in, so I kept them shut. It was also noisy - I could clearly hear guests in adjacent rooms and was glad I'd packed ear plugs. The pub's outdoor seating areas are extremely close to guest rooms, so I think light sleepers would have problems staying here in summer.

Stayed for a birthday treat for my wife forb1 night. Hotel is modern but hold the old world charm of a classic coaching inn and lovely town of Wendover. Great selection of beers and food was excellent (Steak Night) and breakfast lovely too! Great for business or pleasure!!

We stayed here whilst walking The Ridgeway, so arrived late and tired and left early the following morning and didn't therefore have the time to enjoy all that the hotel had to offer. However, we did enjoy a luxurious en suite room, beautifully clean with a fridge and free gin and a sumptuous breakfast. We will be back to enjoy all this at leisure!

Good choice at breakfast. The room was small but the bed was good. No comfortable chairs in the room. The light was very dim and flickering all the time. TV was badly tuned, so unwatchable. Kitchen on Sunday closes at 20.00. Staff were friendly

The only adverse comment which was relayed to the hotel staff - the lighting in the room (No. 6) was generally very poor and it was quite impossible to read by the bedside lights

Absolutely LOVED the room. It was so comfy, lovely selection of tea and coffee and great TV. Only thing that let it down was that the shower tray was really dirty and it made me uncomfortable stepping in there for my shower

I received a warm welcome upon arrival but, unfortunately that’s where the positives end. My room, whilst suitably furnished looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned in ages. The bathroom had long auburn hairs that obviously belonged to a previous guest. Dinner was extremely mediocre and it wasn’t until I finished that anyone asked if everything was ok. The deep fried breaded farmed sea bass fillet was overcooked and dreadful. The menu described it as a schnitzel when it bore absolutely no resemblance to the classic dish that’s cooked in clarified butter. Breakfast was good and served by charming staff. Upon departure, I handed my key to a member of staff who was sitting by the bar doing some admin. Absolutely no interest, no pleasantries and no question as to whether I enjoyed my stay. I would definitely not return.

If a very comfortable bed is important to your stay this one is by far the best we have experienced. The room size was fairly small for the two of us but very cosy.

Charming hotel/pub, believe was a coaching inn historically. Online check in and key collection plus readiness of the room at the check-in - all very good. Booked a superior room, King size comfy bed, good shower over bath and excellent Bramley toiletries. Showed screen did not stop water spraying on floor though. Large fluffy white towels and face cloths. Kettle and coffee maker, plus mini fridge and complimentary sloe gin - all nice touches. Breakfast buffet selection was good quality and choice of included hot items was comprehensive enough. All in all a really enjoyable stay, with attentive, helpful staff, would stay again.

Beautiful characteristic period building. Rooms are finished to a high quality, and you receive nice gifts in your room, complimentary Sloe Gin, chocolates and pillow spray which is a nice touch! Coffee bags are supplied as opposed to instant, and there is also a coffee pod machine which every coffee drinker likes to see. Rooms are spacious too, with very high ceilings and original features. Staff are very helpful and welcoming, the front of house at breakfast is always so happy to see you in the morning which sets you up for a good day! Love this place, its an absolute gem, and Wendover high street is just as delightful too.

The staff is very friendly and always helpful. The rooms are clean, warm and comfortable. However, the Hotel is located on a busy road and I founded very noisy, even during the night. Probably due to the fact that the hotel is located in a heritage building with original single glazing windows with hardly any noise reduction.

Pretty and stylish rooms with some nice touches on coffee and toiletries, however beds uncomfortable with lumpy mattress and with scratchy tired bed linen. Noise late into the night with a private party room next to my bedroom. If you want a good nights sleep this is not the place!

Lacking the personal touch!

This is my go-to stay when I'm in Aylesbury - it's head and shoulders above the rest IMHO, and I've tried a few! Fiona and the staff are welcoming and helpful, there are lots of thoughtful touches in the rooms and the breakfast is superb. *Highly recommend *

We had a great stay. The room was lovely, with great toiletries and a fantastic shower. Some complimentary sloe gin was a nice touch. The bar and restaurant areas are nice. Their own gin is sensational and well worth a try. We encountered some problems with our breakfast orders but they were sorted quickly by Lara, who deserves a special mention for her excellent customer service and bubbly personality. We will happily return, hopefully soon.

This has been a staple of our visits to the area for many years so we were disappointed with how things have changed in such a short period. On arrival we were told that the water would be off the following morning at 8am for planned plumbing works. No apology, no pre warning. In addition, the staff proved quite unfriendly - not just with us - with everyone who is not a regular. Not something we expected nor should expect of a hotel. Very disappointing over all and not an enjoyable experience.

We only stayed for one night and didn't have the opportunity to try their evening menu since we were attending a black-tie event. However, judging by the quality of breakfast, I'm confident that the meals, if prepared to the same standard, would merit a return visit. On arrival, the bustling restaurant clearly signalled its popularity. Despite being busy, the reception staff were warm and attentive, ensuring everything was perfect - a commendable quality also found in the dining room staff next day. If you're seeking the silence of double-glazed windows in a stark, modern room, this hotel may not be for you. However, if you appreciate rooms decorated in harmony with their historical context but equipped with modern amenities like excellent showers and a very comfortable bed, then you've made a smart choice. Additionally, this establishment shuns the usual cheap sachets of coffee and long-life milk, opting instead for individual miniature bottles of fresh milk in your room's fridge and a pukka gen coffee machine, complete with a selection of coffee pods. I know it’s the trend to find something to complain about, but I found none; even a 5:30 am fire alarm was reassuring in a way as it indicated that in the event of a real fire, the staff would ensure everyone's safety. To conclude, this is a charming historical building managed by devoted staff, whose primary aim is to make your stay as pleasant as possible. If you find yourself in the area, this place is a definite gem.

The room, staff, food, and location were all great. Everything was great… only thing I missed was AC on the hottest days. And ad clearly doesn’t promise AC, so no fault of theirs. Just be prepared to sweat if the outside temperature stays warm overnight.

Very easy to get to and park , lovely area to walk around . Breakfast was great and staff lovely and helpful. The only thing I would say is we stayed in the room near the car park and the noise from people drinking outside was quite loud, also the tv signal wasn’t that great. But I would stay there again .

Beautiful rooms, pub has a lovely vibe. Staff friendly and helpful. Good selection for breakfast. Juice, cereals, self service toast, pastries etc. Only negative was the cooked breakfast was a bit cold when it arrived.

Great stay at this lovely hotel, had Dinner and Breakfast there, both were excellent. Lovely room and charming staff. Will use again next time I am in Wendover.

Good place for stop over, staff attentive, food however I feel was overpriced , had a hummus starter to share very nice plenty of it with pitta bread for £12, thought that was good value.. My main dish was 2 large pieces of chicken and potatoes £23 very tasty but no vegetables or anything else with it, would rather have less meat and option for vegetables. I know they source locally which I like and appreciate this costs more.. The room was more than adequate for one night , good choice of different teas and coffees. Very hot night , fan provided, thank goodness as struggled to get any windows opened. Blinds in windows gave good black out. Bed very comfy. Bathroom very clean, shower had 2 different types of heads, worked really well. There was lots of different toiletries provided. Room was across from bar so lots of noise until bar closed, but staff member did make us aware when showing us to our room and because it was a warm evening, everyone sat outside.. Would we come again , possibly to break our journey up but would ask for a quieter room and unless there food prices dropped , would go somewhere else for evening meal..

We booked a superior room to it was a good size and the bed was very comfortable. We appreciated the little extras, the Sloe Gin in the room, small bottle of milk and water in the fridge. A lavender spray for the pillow. The staff were friendly and helpful. We are in the restaurant and the food was excellent. There was no drinks list on the table and when the bill came a glass of wine was £12.50,!! Also a hefty service charge was unexpectedly added., and were charged for tap water. We felt they should have been upfront about the prices.

We booked in and the woman who checked us in and bar staff were so friendly and welcoming. Room was good though a shower over a bath is difficult for my husband so will investigate that further on out next stay. All good, lunch was lovely and found Wendover to be a lovely town. We booked a table for our evening meal and was a wee bit disappointed. The food could have been warmer. I had burger and hubby had rolled belly pork. The pork was a bit tuff... and it was a cheap meal. However, breakfast was best weve had in a very long time. Blackpudding was delicious, spicey with no big white fatty bits. Eggs perfectly good...yummy. I would recommend the hotel and we will definately be back..with friends in Nov i am hoping!!!

Absolutely amazing place to stay, can't rate it highly enough. Staff all extremely helpful, friendly and welcoming. Rooms spotlessly clean and well equipment with everything you need. Breakfast menu has got to be up there as one of the best i've seen. Lovely location and parking available

Hotel pleasant atmosphere, evening staff very helpful. Room good but a little cramped and noisy early morning from road traffic. Food very disappointing menu promised a lot and over elaborate for evening meal. Breakfast very poor,,buffet table not at all stocked and replenished, at 9.05 a 30minute wait for a full english, which was ok, but a very sad inedible avocado concoction -- on complaint a replacement was offered but no thank you! Bad dining experience.
