Disabled lift not very big trouble turning round to get out poor selection of ales plenty of ciders and lagers only one ale that was a pale ale other wise hotel highly recommended

The views are fantastic provided there is no mist or fog. The hotel staff are always very friendly and welcoming. And The View Cafe serves some of the biggest cake portions I've ever encountered. My only disappointment this time was the placement of a flag advertising ice cream right in from of the Olympic rings.

The vehicle charger is slow and would be nice to see an upgrade to type 2. Love the view and the place is nice a quite, will defiantly stay again when in the area

The feature of the hotel is without doubt its location, with stunnng views. Only anoying thing is that if in a first floor room you have to go downstairs and up again to access bistro and bar if the conference rooms in use.

Stunning views. Area is a bit isolated so we struggled to find variety within walking distance for dinner. The hotel does dinner but was out of our price range. Room is clean and comfortable. Room was larger than expected. Good quality breakfast with variety of items to choose from. Lots of parking. No lift to upstairs rooms.

Love this place. The view is spectacular. Bit sad no longer allowed to sit in the lounge during the day, to admire the said view. We felt let down that this option is no longer feasible. Not sure why. Not told the reason. The cafe doesn’t have the same appeal I’m afraid.

The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful; they made the stay special. The views from the restaurant were wonderful; the food was very good with a good choice each evening and it tasted very nice. The disappointing part was the lack of servicing in the room. At check in we were asked if we needed new towels or the room cleaned each day and we said that it wouldn’t be necessary. However we did expect that the tea and coffee would be replenished each day and also that the bed would be made for us; neither of these things happened. If we don’t get these basic services then we should be offered a reduction in the rate for those nights. I don’t mind paying for service but I object to paying for a non- service.

Check in was fine the gentleman offered to help me with luggage day staff was okay there wasba young man in the Bistro on Sunday thumbs up to him he was joyful engaged with me welcoming thats what i expected to feel like we're welcomed there i didnt get that from the others the room was not what i expected for one i had to throw away my fruits there was no miniature fridge drinks got warm bathroom was okay but being a cleaner myself the towel rail was not spotless the toilet bowl had a ring round it not sure if its limescale build up i wasnt happy with that toilets are a put off not throughly clean otherwise food is good room was what we made it

Cleanliness of rooms was not the best at all. Internet service was very weak. Property could do with an uplift for sure. Staff were friendly and were a definate plus. Are has spectacular views. Not a bad location in general. So a mixed bag all in all.

Our stay was excellent. Our room was clean fresh and tidy, bed linen and towels were fresh and white. Reception staff were so friendly and helpful. The restaurant was very nice with views to die for. The food was very good with a good selection on the menu, and the staff were very attentive and helpful. Our only complaint was that the drinks are rather overpriced. The hotel is situated with views across the sea and over the town. A bus stop outside took you all over Dorset, and we could use our bus pass.

Yes, the room was spotless but it is the friendliness of the staff that makes our stay most enjoyable. The wide choice of breakfast suits everyone. Unfortunately we found the evening dinners a little too rich for our taste on this visit. Previous visits have had more choice for the evening meal, with some more 'basic' meals available. However the chef was most accommodating when it came to catering for allergies.

Firstly my Wife and I were made very welcome. We were given a free hot drink on arrival and when we git to our room immediately impressed by the cleanliness soace and comfort too. The views from our room was exceptional 👌 Secondly service in general was first class, friendly and helpful staff specially in bistro bar. Breakfast is most enjoyable and delicious. Evening meal in Bistro bar from our experience was delicious and satisfying. I will conclude by saying in honesty to recommend highly the Heights Hotel, Portland. You will be assured of a memorable, comfortable and pleasant holiday.

We were not at all happy at waiting an hour for our evening meal. To say you were busy is not the answer i know what i am talking about as i was in the trade. Plus it was a bit of a shock to be told our room would only be cleaned every three days meaning our was not cleaned as we were only there three days so no bed made no bathroom cleaned no bins emptied staff were very kind breakfast very nice when we arrived all very clean but expected it to be cleaned daily. The hotel had a good view but it was very dirty and smelly. The rooms are so small. The breakfast was terribly. There was a lady called Tracey I ask her can u change my room but she said no and she was so rude. She has put my holiday off mood etc. This hotel is over priced.

Nice clean hotel and friendly staff. The food was excellent but there was no hospitality tray in our room. The decor is rather dated and the furniture was wobbly and old. It just needs an update but the view, the staff and the food made up for that.

We chose this hotel for its location and views which are amazing. The hotel itself is dated and the long dark corridors to the rooms on the ground floor are not appealing. The rooms are in need of updating and decorating, ie, decent light over bathroom mirror and change shower curtain to glass screen. Room was suffient. There was a good choice for breakfast. Did not try evening restaurant however bar meals were good.

Terrible nights sleep. Had paid extra for premium room. But the Bed mattress definitely needs replacing. Next night moved to a smaller room. But manager would not refund the difference in room price. Just offered discount on a meal if we dined with them, but would not say how much discount. So no way would we eat just to get a minimal amount off. No brainer. Terrible Customer Service.

No real issues with the Hotel, it's a little dated in places, but comfortable and the breakfast was good. The view from the Bistro / Bar is amazing. Our room (220) suffered a little from road noise but was otherwise fine. The curtains definitely need to go back to the eighties though!

Our room was comfortable and quiet and very clean. We had tea making facilities and a table and 2 chairs. Plenty of hanging space and bedside cabinets. The furniture and decor was a little dated but it had charging points for mobile phones and a television and free wi fi.

The food, the staff and the view were amazing. Loved it. The TV was made was made for an ant and goldilocks wouldn't have liked the bed, as it was too hard both of us and my back is now in agony.

Nice quiet room but no view unfortunately but there a fantastic view in the bar/Resturant and you have breakfast there as well which is fantastic, room great, plenty of tea & coffee, shower hot & powerful bed comfy, only downside was staff at check in a bit miserable

Thos was our 5th stay in Portland and 4th time at Heights Hotel. Cannot praise it enough! Perfect location for exploring Portland Island, very short drive to Weymouth, amazing food, incredible room service, staff is brilliant (huge shout out to Denise who's been accommodating and friendly as ever!), rooms are clean, bed's comfy... We started calling Heights our home away from home!

The stay was little uncomfortable for me. I booked a room and when i arrived they gave me a room while checking my ID and in the middle of the night office staff came and said they have a misunderstanding, the room they gave was not the room allocated for me and so they have to changed me to another room. Such a disastrous behavior ftom the hotel staff...

We really enjoyed our night here. Room was spacious and well appointed. Very quiet too. The restaurant has the most amazing views! Hard too concentrate on the delicious food without looking our of the windows. Great service from everyone in the hotel. Wished we had booked to stay a bit longer as there was more to see on Portland than we expected.

Staff were great, friendly and helpful. Room was lovely and clean. Bed was comfortable. Views from Bistro was stunning. Staff in the Bistro were very helpful and attentive. Unfortunately, the food let it down. Evening meals were hit and miss. Repetitive menu and also quality of food was poor.

Pros: The view is outstanding. There is always either the cafe, or the bar or the restaurant open. Cons: The rooms are outdated. Food is average and expensive. Drinks are expensive. Breakfast quite poor and if you want a cappuccino that’s £5 extra.

Stayed for 2 nights. Hotel a little tired although clean and staff very attentive. Great views across Chesil Beach from the restaurant, lacking in a comfortable seating area around the bar. Food was a tad lacking and evening meal pretty pricey for an average meal.

Lovely clean hotel looking a little tiered, meal on first night under seasoned and beef tough so could do better there. Room very warm ( why have the heating on n this weather.?). Kept running out of Prosecco But overall a nice stay .

Stunning location with great views down towards the rest of Portland and into Weymouth. My only main problem with this hotel was the food. On my first night I booked into the on site bistro, where I was disappointed to find I could only sit inside not outside. This despite the hotel advertising that you could 'enjoy dinner outside on our terrace at our restaurant soaking in the views'. I then had a starter of mussels, which whilst okay the rest either had broken shells or had mussels that were completely closed. It is common knowledge that if you discover closed shells whilst cooking mussels, you do not serve them! Same case with broken ones. I then had for my main a crab linguine. For £25 you'd expect this to be more then decent. However as soon as I started eating it, I realised the pasta had been undercooked. It was stodgy, chewy, almost to the point of unpleasant and it was also a big portion. All in all not very good considering the place is in a seaside town.

Had an amazing couple of nights over bonfire weekend, room was very clean, very good size too, only criticism would be the size of the TV (not that we generally watch TV, and just find it easier to use our laptops for films, YouTube etc.) Had an amazing meal in the restaurant while being able to see the various fireworks that were going off in the distance, not the cheapest meal we've ever had, however we did have a bottle of wine with our meal, it was one of the best meals we have ever had, so felt it was good value, and there's obviously a small tax for the gorgeous views. Breakfast was included in the price and was also very well cooked too, there was a small choice of continental breakfast items too, but I'm always going to go for a cooked breakfast if there's a choice. Overall I have no issues in recommending the heights, yes it's a little bit on the expensive side for a three star hotel, but as mentioned before, those views from the restaurant are simply beautiful and worth the price paid
