We had a lovely stay at Losehill overall and the staff were welcoming. The location is wonderful, with plenty of beautiful walks in the surrounding area. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Our first room had a massive number of ladybirds in the bathroom and it seems like this has been a problem for the hotel in recent weeks. The staff were helpful and arranged a new room for us, but it wasn't clear how they planned to address the issue longer term. The spa is okay but limited - we enjoyed the sauna but it would be great to have a steam room and some extra facilities. The hot tub was nice but you do smell the drains a bit. We ate dinner down the road so can't comment on the evening service, but the breakfast was excellent!

I was extremely disappointed with this hotel especially after reading so many 10/10 reviews. It was clear my room hadn’t been cleaned properly there was dust, dead insects, cobwebs & 2 spiders living with us. My daughter did not want me to make a fuss so l let it go. However when it was past midnight & l came out of my shower l saw her wide awake staring at the ceiling. The spiders had decided to venture out of their corner and were actively roaming the ceiling & room. There were 4 spiders & although l have a phobia my daughter could not sleep with them being so active ! The receptionist was good enough to come & collect them. When he came we couldn’t open the door because one of the spiders was climbing up & down in front of the door. Woke up next day They were coming in through the window each day
