Booked and confirmed via email . Got there at night and the hotel was closed . When calling the only number available the message says “ closed since November 2025 due to flooding “ . Our booking was online in January 2026 so they knew this already and still accepted the reservation . £200 out the window and had to drive to Abergavenny to look for accommodation late at night …

Maria, who is front of house, was so welcoming and later, in the dining room she tirelessly looked after us and all the other guests. The food was fantastic and I understand her husband is head chef, Joseph Colman. The rooms were attractive and very comfortable with lovely bathrooms. I would certainly recommend this as a wonderful getaway.

So thrilled to have found this little gem. Needed an overnight stay near Monmouth, we stayed on Boxing Day evening, with our dog. Beautiful room , We ate in the bar, food first class. I imagine we will pay another visit if in the area.
