Perfect for a few days stay. The folks who work here are, without a doubt, friendly and efficient. Out of their control, though, is that the $23/night parking fee does not guarantee a spot in their lot, which is pretty frustrating.

Stayed at the property for one week. The property was excellent with the exception of the laundry facilities. The washer and dryer were dated and had brown worn stains in the washer drum the trash had not been emptied, and it smelled the rooms were clean. The bedding was clean. The staff was great however they do charge for parking.

The room was clean. The door to the room was crooked, hard to shut. There is only one ice machine in the hotel that is on the sixth floor. Elevators were slow. The front desk crew could have been friendlier. The breakfast crew were super nice.

The staff at the front desk were friendly and efficient. The hotel was clean and comfortable. My only critism was regarding the gym. There were no towels, no cups for water, and nothing to sanitize the equipment with. Otherwise a perfect stay!

I did not like the $25.00 per night parking fee. Also the 3 or 4 handicapp parking spots are taken up by, I believe hotel employees. No transport from hotel to UAB and no one to assist handicapped persons. If your handicapped and needed any of the above amenities stay at the Hilton across the road from the Residence Inn downtown at UAB. Also don’t expect a discount for UAB.

Under construction to say the least! Mouse feces in the cabinet. Cold water in the shower. The cable boxes and wires all fell out under the tv and were hanging above the fireplace. There was salt on the counter as if someone just ate there. No we’re to park because the lot is covered in construction materials. Nowhere to eat because that also was under construction. It was horrible.

Our room was generally clean, but unfortunately, human hair from the previous occupants was still there in the bathtub and walls, even on the shower gel bottles. The floor mat near the kitchen was torn and unsafe. The elevator floor and lobby were full of water from people coming back from the pool, and there was no one to clean it. It was slippery and dangerous for everyone, especially elderly people. On Monday morning, at 7.20 am, the food items, coffee, bread, etc., were over or not refilled on time. Overall the experience was quite unpleasant. Above all these, we had to pay $54 for parking in an open and unsafe parking area for two days. Next time, we will try the Hilton across the road.

There were dirty dishes in the dishwasher that had not been washed prior to our arrival. There was a note on the cabinet that stated: Dishes are washed but not sanitized, but the dishes in the cabinets looked dirty like they only been wiped down. Corners of bathroom were dirty. Bed sheets were stained with blood. While checking in, a smoke detector or air freshener of some kind fell and broke in the lobby. It nearly hit a lady behind me. The front desk clerk didn't even look up. In fact, the lady and her guests behind me proceeded to grab chairs from the lobby to create a barrier to prevent anyone from slipping. At that point, the Clerk finally looked up and said - someone will be coming to clean that up. Very disconnected from the guests.

All the rooms had mold or air quality issues. Air filters didn’t fit vents. No bed bug covers on mattress. No fresh air or ability to open windows. Elevator was disgusting and dirty. Overall stale and not fresh and clean. Not Marriott quality.

The pool was closed when we got there, but they offered us free parking instead to compensate for our disappointment. That’s nice. Breakfast was included but nothing special. The room itself was nice - we had a sitting area and full kitchen. We were rather disappointed to learn they do not clean your room during the stay.

First of all, the picture of the hotel on here is photo-shopped to look like it is a freee standing building with no other building in sight. It is surrounded by buildings and sits in the middle of the city. Deceptive photo. The hotel has been remodeled and is nice and modern on the inside, but our room had a wall with a 2'x2' hole cut in the drywall that had been screwed back in place but not taped/spackled. The refridgerator door was had multiple dents in it like someone had thrown a fit and beat on it. The interior door frames were cocked and the doors were hard to open and close and swung open on their own when not closed tightly. The door frames on the stairwells in the hall did not close on their own and did not seal, which is a fire hazzard. The breakfast was ok, but very bland. Suasage was like flavored cardboard and the scrambled eggs where not fresh (powdered). After all that complaining, I have to say the STAFF WAS AWESOME!! Every staff member we came into contact with was polite, engageing and helpful. Good people!

Simply blown away at how nice our room is. The room is very cozy, and the renovations in the room is very, very nice. And the kitchenette with full size fridge and microwave is a huge plus. Definitely coming back when I visit Birmingham.

It was an average hotel. Nothing special. The room looked a bit worn, particularly the bathroom the bottom of the tub appears to be cracked slightly and there were multiple scuff marks on the vanity.

The room was nice, but it is so noisy from the street that I had 4 nights of interrupted sleep even with white noise on max volume. Breakfast was below average, but the room was great. Someone was smoking weed in their room the whole time I was there, so my room smelled like weed. Hotel seemed to be apologetic about it, but they obviously can't control it to some degree. So, it was a mixed bag. Because of noise alone, I probably won't stay here again. The staff was very friendly, however.

The Experience start from check-in with Debra it was extremely busy, she was cool, calm, professional, patience and understanding. She thank you for waiting patiently and was still able to tell what time the breakfast, where the elevator, and etc with a Smile. Ms. Luchelle, omg was holding down Saturday with people coming and going for hours, assistant with a Smile, while giving Good advice to one of the guest as they were having a conversation. She great every guest that was enter and leaving...welcome to Sweet Home Alabama. My check-out process was a wonderful experiences with KeKe, you felt like this is the Best hotel and it was, she made sure everything was good and when I expressed 1 problem, she took care of the issue. She as well offered a warm welcome introduction. Hotel clean from entrance to elevator to your room. Outside was clean too. Front receptionist team ladies are Amazing!

I spent two nights in Birmingham, and being unfamiliar with the city, wanted to be in an accessible and safe area. This Residence Inn is right in the middle of the UAB Campus, and several restaurants are within walking distance. It has a small pool, which I did not use, but which kids seem to enjoy. It had an adequate workout room. The great thing is how large and spacious the suites are. It’s like having your own apartment within the city. The front desk staff and the breakfast room staff were all exceptionally nice and helpful.

Excellent but for our bed. My wife found the mattress to be uncomfortable, in need or replacement. Our room was spacious and well equipped. It even had a dish washer. We picked up dinner from a restaurant two blocks away and ate in our room. The free breakfast buffet was very good. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

There was a shooting in the hotel two weeks before I arrived but mostly it seemed safe inside. Supposedly it was recently renovated, but I saw no signs of that. The accommodations were good, for the most part, although the kitchen lacked any cups or dishes. Weird light switches that sometimes flick down and sometimes up. Had to keep fiddling with the thermostat to find a comfortable temperature that was neither too cold nor too hot. The breakfast buffet is horrible. Inedible, really. Still, a decent value for the money.
