Great place to stay . Enjoyed the pool bar and restaurant. Room was spacious . We were located at front near sign for hotel which was on all night. Curtains didnt close properly. Also light from corridor through and under door. This made sleep a bit tough had to use towels to block it out . But DO NOT let this affect wheyher you stay here it was a lovely place and friendly staff.

Everything was very good. The staff were very polite and efficient , the room was large and clean. The swimming pool was superb. The location is super and gardens are beautiful. Plenty of parking only a few steps from the main entrance.

Beautiful grounds and gardens, access to the beach. Good facilities including swimming pool, bar, pool room.Very welcoming. Good breakfast. Good parking. Standard room wasn't the best. Overall very good and would come again.

Very impressed. Although the room was a bit dated it was spotlessly clean. The garden and views are very impressive and the staff were helpful. Lovely buffet breakfast and the swimming pool area was very modern. We used it twice and had it to ourselves! I'd put it above 3 stars.

Absolutely beautiful setting and gardens, great swimming pool and staff are wonderful, helpful and friendly. Rooms could do with a little refurbishing.

Room very clean and spacious warm welcome from reception. Good parking. Gardens stunning beaytiful walk down to beach tgrough gardens. Beautiful pool 25metre very clean comfortable temperature. I went here to relax destress swim snd walk did all. Quiet at night. Staff lovely breakfast great. Overall will vusit again . Definitely.

This is a welcoming place to stay with friendly attentive staff. The gardens and grounds of the hotel are attractive and afford a pleasant walk down to the beach and Teignmouth town centre. It was useful to enjoy a tasty meal on the first night of my stay and the buffet breakfast was generally good although it can be busy at times. Overall the stay was pretty good value for money with the room and facilities being spacious and warm.

Lovely gardens, very dog friendly, near the seafront and shops. The room could have been cleaner, and the pool was too cold.

everything great but looking to have a swim in pool but closed the 2 days there not good,food good breakfast room good ,shower we had trouble with just bad designed bath and shower room,,getting in to bath and shower,,,just missed the pool whole reason for booking this place

Staff were excellent nothing was to much trouble and they are a credit to the business. The room was clean and satisfactory. Breakfast was brilliant with a good choice to choose from! Stated for a weekend break and enjoyed our stay!

Hotel was clean but room was basic, two dirty cups, no shower gel or towels and low pressure in shower. Breakfast was served under heat lights which dried it out. However on the plus side you could order eggs etc and the staff were very helpful. The gardens were beautiful

Overall the Hotel stay was very pleasant, staff very helpful and food better than expected, some reviews were very negative. Location is very good, with easy access to beach and town. Disappointed that the beautiful pool water felt so cold. Just a shame that the room, especially the En-suite was lacking the cleanliness that I would have expected, quite dirty in places, dusty and a few cobwebs found, lamp shades could do with a good clean. I would recommend and return to this Hotel at a future date.

I had the best stay it was for my 60th the room with a view was just what i asked for and most importantly it had a bath the staff were lovely and my room was spotless ill definitely be going back

Lovely ground and staff, let down by the room, shower very weak, no bedside lights and not particularly clean or well presented room - have to ask for the room to be cleaned by 10am so not great if you are looking for a lie in or need to do some work. Swimming pool and views from restaurant are nice.

The first issue was the toilet roll, it was not new and had a brown stain, which were not sure what it was. Second issue was the cleanliness of the room, dust on all the surfaces when we arrived and still there after two days. Last issue was that unknown to us we should have had canned water and biscuits each day, none arrived until the last day. The staff are helpful, but the whole place is jaded and requires refurbishment. Was obviously a very nice hotel once. It has a swimming pool which is probably the best part. The walk through the well tended grounds down to the beach is great. At £140 a night its too expensive.

Room and bathroom is quite dated and could do with some sprucing up. The view from the room was a walk with foot traffic above that could see in through the windows. The bed was uncomfortable with very flat pillows. In the middle of the night. I woke up to itchy bug bites on my face and arms and found bed bugs on the pillows and mattress. Informed reception staff upon checking out the next morning and was told “thanks for letting us know”. Breakfast was as expected, croissants were very light and fluffy. The hotel is easily accessible and just a short walk through the gardens to the sea front and town.

The room was really warm, the bathroom still had some toothfloss on the floor from previous guests, the shower was dripping very much and was Not very clean at the handles. The shower tray for shower gel and shampoo was metal and started to rust, no high enough hanging space for towels. In the bathroom fan was a lot of dust and spider web. As well quite dusty all over the bathroom in general. The over all room was spacious. The headboard from the bed fell down, right after sitting on the bed, behind was the previous colour of the wall, the lights above the bed were painted inside a bit as well... The food was not nice at all, when mentioned to the staff, they looked at us as If we spoke a different language. No apologies. The expensive beer (£5.20 for an IPA) was brought to us in cans with some dirty Pepsi glasses. The breakfast was a sad story and although we arrived 30min before finish, it should have been refilled. The walls are paper thin and we were able to hear the people below talking/TV/snoring. Over all, although only 3 Stars, it should at least have been Clean and friendly staff.

Carpet in room had quite a lot of dog hair on it, there was no mention when booking that dogs are allowed in all rooms. Reception staff and barman lovely as was the chef but the staff doing breakfast could do with a little more training

Main building, the grounds and the new swimming pool complex were very impressive. Conversely our room was sparsely furnished with dated furniture, and the bathroom was in need of maintenance!

Beds were comfy.. don't book a standard twin room because you will be at the back of the building on the very noisy road..we did and regretted it!.. the hotel wasn't busy from what we could see..so the management could have upgraded us we thought.. not somewhere we would consider going back to unless there was a really good deal to be had..

We have stayed in this hotel a few times and I have noticed the last couple of times that the breakfast service isn’t as good as it used to be. If you get there after 9am there is very little left on the hot buffet, and once the beans and tomato bowls were empty they were not replaced. Apart from that all good

Room was clean, good view of sea. However, there was a hole in the bed sheet, also no pressure in shower water. Parking was fine, staff were friendly. WI-FI was good too. Very nice swimming pool, grounds were great & very near to beach walking through gardens. Definitely would stay again.

Rattling Ill fitting sash windows & bedroom door kept me awake on a windy night & poor hot water pressure to shower & sink otherwise enjoyed stay. Room 203.

Shower was feeble. Need to upgrade. Back rooms by kitchen, bright lights on until late. Staff friendly. Nice breakfast. Clean.

We went away with our grandson for two nights. Our family room was fantastic!! Very roomy, great bathroom with bath and a shower and a balcony. We also took our dog and he was allowed to go in all areas. The grounds are beautiful and relaxing. Swimming pool was really nice, the hotel has spent some money in refurbishing certain areas.

Well situated hotel set in beautiful grounds. 5 minute walk to the beach. Room unfortunately faced the road and made the room noisy, the beds were uncomfortable and I suspect the mattresses need replacing. Lovely refurbished pool and the staff were helpful. Food was very average, Hotel was 3 star and I think that was a fair mark

Jo behind reception was amazing and so helpful and friendly. The room was great. The gardens were amazing, fantastic feature of the hotel.

Check in was good. Great location, access to the beach and town through gardens, i wouldn't say it was suitable for wheelchairs that way though. Room was good,. beds very comfortable, plastic sink and floor in bathroom stained but clean. Plug had usb port but no table to put your devices on, Just needs a table. Dog friendly hotel. Breakfast was lovely. Staff were nice and polite. Downside, booked a table for 6 people at check in for 7.30, no table set for us. 2 hr wait for food which was dry, cold and overcooked, there was obviously a problem but instead of closing the kitchen we sat for a long time just to send it back, it was frustrating for the staff too. Lots of dogs in restaurant, personally i would have prefered a dog free eating area. Bar was small and very limited choice and not always manned. Overall, great location, friendly staff, good breakfast, lovely stay with a few hick ups, we had a laugh .

What a lovely hotel this could be! Great location and grounds, but understaffed and a bit tired. That being said, staff were friendly & helpful and the room was spacious. We stayed with our dog and the facilities provided for furry-friends are great. The pool is warm and clean. Would come back.

The property could be brilliant, just requires maintenance inside and out, could do with employing an all round maintenance person. Requires more staff for the restaurant, bar and housekeeping. Was treated very rudely by a member of the restaurant staff on our last night.

Lovely views and gardens fabulously building inside and out. Sorry to say the breakfast was lawful l was not late for breakfast but no hot food everything was empty except cold Tomatoes half cook cold scrambled egg l though they would put more food out but no. No cups No cutlery tryed to make tea no milk. When my family came down they had the same exact the same experience. I don't feel it was the staff's fault as they seam to be under staffed. This is my second visit we loved everything else about are stay but l would think twice before booking again very disappointed o there was no toast as toaster not working. We had to find breakfast out side the hotel 🤐

On a very hot weekend we were allocated a room on the top floor next to the kitchen extractor fan. We, and especially our dog, could not have slept in the very high temperature. The staff were extremely accommodating and despite the hotel being very busy, we were moved to another cooler and less smelly room. The hotel is lovely and the grounds are amazing. We've visited a few times and they are steadily updating the hotel and the lovely swimming pool is now open again. There's an element of faded glory that they are trying to address and the hotel has a lot going for it.

Unfortunately there was pre wedding party so noisy till 3am on second night. Beautiful location. Good value for the money.

Excellent location with free parking. Lovely gardens surrounding hotel. Indoor pool free to use. Easy access to Teignmouth and all its amenities within easy walking distance.

Positives and negatives. Excellent position, Teignmouth worth spending some time in and easily walkable. Staff excellent, good value stay, meal in restaurant quite good and breakfast excellent. However, lots of road noise in room all day and night and no double glazing. A breeze coming in around the window blew the blind. Room was next to stairs and lots of noise from other guests going up and down. Ask for room in better position.

Lovely hotel with fantastic private gardens with easy access to sea front and lovely town. Train station a gem with cheap fares and picturesque travel to other towns didn't use the car all week.

A very nice Hotel in a very good location, friendly staff, lovely breakfast, clean and set in lovely grounds with nice views. Easy access from the Hotel through the lovely garden straight down to the Sea Front. Overall, a lovely few days at this Hotel, will definitely stay again. 😊

This hotel is quiet and conveniently situated to the seafront, town and railway station. It has a comfy 'country house' atmosphere with friendly staff and service. Excellent value.

Hotel in an excellent location, in beautiful surroundings. Room was perfectly adequate, if a little tired. Evening meal was disappointing. Rather expensive for what appeared to be very ordinary pub fare. And my main choices weren't available, as they'd run out of garlic! All a bit of a shame, as eating out options in the town were extremely limited

We have just had a 5 night stay at this hotel and I can honestly say that this was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in and I have stayed in many around the world. The only good thing going for it are the grounds which are stunning. We booked dinner bed and breakfast. The "hot" buffet breakfast was cold every morning. scrambled eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms, bacon, sausage, hash browns - good selection but cold. Had the option poached or fried eggs but when poached eggs arrived they weren't cooked. There were the usual pastries and overipe fruit. It was truly awful. The waitresses were even advising people not to order the eggs!!! The evening meals were terrible as well. OK you could pick from the menu but it was pot luck whether the chef could cook it! On two evenings I had to send my soup back as it was cold. One time the hot crusty roll turned out to be a piece of bread with margarine and the next time the hot roll was still frozen inside. One evening apparently they had an agency chef who didn't know how to cook - the manager warned the people who had booked for evening meal that this was the case but those who had dinner included in their stay were not so faced with not having anything to eat that evening we sent out for a Chinese takeaway. Barman disappeared for long periods - so long that guests were pulling their own pints! Beware of dog friendly - the dining room is very small and the dogs are sat with their noses on the table eyeing up the food!

Loved the room. Breakfast was excellent. The hotel and grounds and setting were faultless and we will stay again. Evening meal was definitely not up to standard. Tasted and looked like frozen food which was microwaved or heated. Over priced for what they were. Even veg was from frozen… tasteless. Would definitely recommend staying but eat out.

The gardens and access to the beach were amazing for dog walks or just a stroll. The pool was great too. At breakfast the staff needed to be minded to clear tables and replenish food and drinks (by customers) which had gone. Dinner options were ok but not great. The beds are very soft so sleeping meant you felt every spring in your back and side. The hotel has a lot of potential to be excellent just need some good customer service and tourism training for staff, beds to be replaced with new, food options and a chef to be employed. Average hotel as is.

The location is good with easy access to the beach via the attractive grounds. Its then an easy walk to the town centre and to Shaldon. Note that many of the restaurants in the town are closed on Mondays. Overall the 'Club' room was OK but didn't have the wow-factor for me. Breakfast was good. Dinner was not so good as my steak pie arrived undercooked with the filling stone cold.

Nice spacious room, clean, with a good shower. Decent size TV. Breakfast ,lots of different options but hot options were not refilled enough to keep all topped up. Coffee machine was not good and was serving luke warm beverages.

Lovely hotel in lovely location nice gardens, only criticism was we had dinner in the hotel and were disappointed with it especially the prawn cocktail tiny prawns with very little sauce.We would however definitely stay here again.
