We were on the 5th floor and the hallways were warm. The a/c was not on or not working. This place has the SLOWEST elevator I’ve ever been on, ever! Overpriced for area IMO. I used my points for a cheaper stay.

Friendly staff and very clean. The parking lot is lit up nice and it felt safe. Breakfast was great and had plenty of options to choose from. Was very quiet so either really good noise reducution or very queit guests. 10/10 would recommend and will be staying again in the future.

Property could have been excellent….room was perfect! Amenities would have been great if they had been available. We specifically picked this hotel because of the pool, basketball court and putting greens. It was my son’s 14th birthday trip that turned out terrible. We check in and they couldn’t add my Hilton Honors account. She looked it up with my phone number and called me by my name and said she couldn’t link it because we booked through Expedia. So we couldn’t get the free WiFi with our Hilton Honors. Then my two boys talked about getting in the pool she said it was closed due to a renovation. Why renovate in the summer knowing people come to swim?? I asked her if the basketball court was open and putting green and she said yes. So I was hopefully that at least the boys could do that. We get out to the court to play and there are roofing nails everywhere. I picked them all up so the boys could play, they played about 30 min and a construction worker came out and said it was closed. I told him the front desk told us it was open. Miscommunication for sure! Would have been nice to know before booking for my sons birthday, VERY DISAPPOINTING!!!!

We enjoyed our stay at the Homewood Suites in Hoover, AL. The room was beautiful and spacious. The shower was huge and comforting, the kitchen was efficient and clean. Very nice place to stay! They even had a free beer and wine happy hour in the lobby.👍👍👍

Nice hotel, suite had 2 beds + sofa bed, full fridge, stove, pans, dishes, silverware, nice gated pool for little ones, only complaint pool was shaded by building/ a bit cold for night time swimming and the door from the pool to the lobby key access didn’t work, got locked out had to take long way around back in from pool, also hotels always confusing what smart tv apps are paid for and how to use each if not logged in when you turn on the tv

This hotel is being refurbished so there was a lot of construction and limited parking. Our room keys worked inconsistently and we had to go to the front desk several times. Our room was not updated yet so things were older and not as nice.

Staff was very polite and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. Facilities were very clean. Our room had a few maintenance items that could have been addressed (toilet paper holder coming out of wall) and one elevator out of service another elevator VERY slow (more than 5 minute wait). But we would stay there again in a heartbeat bc all the good way overshadowed the maintenance items. Good job Homewood staff.

We got to the hotel Friday evening and realized it was a construction site with no parking. The hotel had plastic up in hallways, pool and all outdoor amenities were closed and we were woken up every morning at 5:30am on a Saturday and Sunday because of roofers replacing the roof. If we would have known this we would’ve stayed at another hotel. Expedia and Homewood suites you need to better letting people know. There was multiple big tournaments in town and all other places were booked.

Our room had a lot of damage to the a/c vents, walls, bathroom, ceiling paint peeling and the fan was covered in dark dust. Over sleeping was good and the breakfast was good. For a Hilton, they would need to get a good overall for the room.

When we first arrived we got to our room and it was not cleaned. Dirty laundry on the floor food on the counter just completely dirty. Then we had to wait twenty minutes with a child to get a new room for the new room and the keys wouldn’t work went back down for another key still wouldn’t work so had to do it again before it finally worked now an hour later we finally have a room but no compensation was offered nothing at all and I expected more from a Hilton.

The hotel felt safe and the people working there seemed nice. But, the hotel is older. Our room was not in good shape when we checked in. The AC had emitted a black "debris" all over the bed next to the unit and also in the den. Also, the bed skirt on the bed had a stain that looked akin to vomit. Housekeeping never changed the bedding on the bed, despite requests. An employee did eventually come remove the soiled bedskirt. They were sold out and had no other rooms for us, so we were stuck in a room we did not really feel comfortable in due to the above issues. We bought an air purifier and a can of lysol and treaded very lightly while in our room. It was very disappointing and we had no recourse, per hotels.com when we contacted them.

Very clean nice room. Plenty of room, with a couch, kitchen and full sized refrigerator. Minor quibbles for me are the pillows are very soft feather type, which my wife likes but not me. I never asked if they had firm pillows so they may upon request. Great coffee!

Good property overall, but our room had a noisy under-window HVAC unit that woke me up in the middle of the night 2 nights in a row because it randomly started to chatter, sounding like mini chopper. If you turn it off, you start to feel cold. I also don't like the bathroom curtain which maintains moisture & doesn't feel good when it touches your skin. The TV has no means for casting from your phone/tablet so you can see this like Netflix/Hulu/etc. so you're stuck watching whatever shows that you don't want to see on the TV channels at that time. Ultimately though, it's comfy with the room structure as all Homewood Suites are, but it could use a nice redesign. Breakfast was great as usual & gets you started on your day. I would stay again but they could do a bit better with room facelifts.

I wasn't able to stay here. I waited for an hour while they tried to get the keys to work for my room and they were never able to even get me in the door. While I was waiting for them to (unsuccessfully) get me in the room another guest came to the front desk to cancel his reservation because there was some kind of rodent in his room that scurried away when he first walked in. I didn't see it for myself, but just reporting another guest's experience. Between the key not working and the rodent, I had seen all I needed to see and cancelled my reservation. I booked at the Holiday Inn down the road.

Very quiet, great location, Breakfast was a WONDERFUL spread My only grievance: staff/house keeping The front desk at the time of check in was very friendly; however, the check out person today was not and borderline rude. Also, even though check out was at noon, I was disturbed 3 times by housekeeping. I told THE SAME person 3 times that I would be gone by noon, but she kept coming by every 30-45 minutes and disrupting my sleep.

Love the location. Quietest hotel I’ve been in, in a very long time. Of course, the higher the floor the better. Staff was very helpful. There was an issue with the HVAC in the room I was assigned. They immediately moved me to another room on a higher floor! With attention to a few things this hotel would be just about perfect. For example, the tracks for the closet doors need to be cleaned up, possibly replaced. Closet doors don’t slide very well at all.

Every time we go through Birmingham we stay here and it is always amazing. This trip Samuel was on the desk when we checked in and he did a fantastic job welcoming us and making us feel at home. A true asset to Hilton and a role model for how a front desk should be run.

I have stayed in this hotel on three occasions, and regrettably, my recent stay was the least satisfactory of them all. While trying to sleep, I experienced an immediate discomfort to my respiratory tract, likely due to allergens such as pet dander lingering in the air. Breakfast was disappointing. They had pancakes at 8:00 and then switched to other options. Not offering waffles or pancakes is terrible. Cleaned up breakfast 30 minutes early so essentially breakfast ended at 8:30 instead of 9:30. Had to buy breakfast for family instead of eating at hotel, Several hotel workers said it was a full breakfast and several workers said pancakes were coming. Both were false. You shouldn’t advertise breakfast if don’t include one.
