Crown, Droitwich by Marston's Inns

Impressed by the customer service at this nice place to stay, nothing was too much trouble for the friendly, professional and efficient team. The location was a great for the road network in the area; for public transport users the hotel is on a direct bus link between Droitwich Spa, Bromsgrove and Worcester. This is a public house with rooms, the pub is very welcoming, a lovely place for drinks and food. The rooms are a little dated in terms of décor and the communal areas could do with a lick of paint and some TLC however as with the rest of the property spotlessly clean. The memory I will take away from the Crown was the extremely comfortable bed, duvet and pillows which aided a brilliant nights sleep. Highly recommended and will stay again

Friendly, great value and had all the basic things i needed. Beer on tap was well kept. Food was perfectly fine not gourmet. Good parking and convenient location.

Having been coax by reminders that the hotel had drinks, evening meals, and wonderful breakfasts available, even as close as 2 days before. We arrived to find everything locked up, and staff saying we’re closed come back Monday!! The room was available but nothing else, and it was a case of do it yourself.

Chain brewery pub with rooms. Clean and comfortable, with really friendly staff who obviously care about doing a good job. Food is good, and promptly served. I've stayed here twice for work as it's handy for road links, and because of the warm welcome.

There is a lot to like at the Crown. The hotel decor is modern and not too bad, a few scuffs here and there but overall quite pleasing. However, beware of room 10, which we were in. It has no windows. Natural light comes from two skylights. A hooked pole is provided for opening and closing these. Neither has a blind, or any means of keeping out light when day breaks. Traffic noise can be heard from the busy road outside and the motorway nearby, but it was too hot a night to close the skylights. A fan was provided but, combined with traffic noise, was too noisy even at low setting for a light sleeper. Early in the morning my wife did try closing one of the skylights but found this impossible. The room carpet didn't look too bad despite a couple of small stains but could probably do with a clean. The shower gel container being empty was disappointing. Food was served downstairs in the pub, fairly quickly, piping hot and very tasty. The pub is freshly decorated, tables and chairs all in very good condition. The garden area out back is beatifully kept. Next morning we opted for a cooked breakfast and a continental breakfast. On ordering I was told there were no mushrooms and offered extra sausage. After paying I was told there were no pastries (for the continental breakfast) but could have toast. When I asked for orange juice I was told there wasn't any. Staff were pleasant and attentive but being a bit more proactive wouldn't go wrong, especially on how to close skylights.

I was very pleasantly surprised at how clean and comfy this hotel was, needed a low cost last minute night. Free parking, the staff were all extremely friendly and helpful, the hotel was spotlessly clean and the beds were really comfy, tv had good selection of channels including Disney plus and Netflix, which was great for us as there was a bad storm at the time. We ate in the restaurant and food was served quickly and was perfect temperature and well presented, we had no disturbances during the night. I would definitely recommend this hotel and I will be booking again, I have stayed in many hotels in this area, some 3x the price, this one is by far the best value for money.

When we got to the hotel we noticed that the restaurant was under total restoration therefore we had nowhere to eat and drink . We were not informed of this or we would of booked another hotel. The staff was absolutely brilliant and couldn't apologise enough, they did say that the work is on their website however the booking companies have not put it on theirs We were told that the Crown hotel will not be asking for the hotel cost. Would be very grateful if we could get at least our money back as this was not our fault, i have used Hotels.com many times in the past and if we do not receive a refund we use other bookings companies. I like this place as there are rooms on the ground flour and there are 2 car parks. The room given to us was a family room and it was very spacious. The room was clean and plenty of lights. Convenient for my husband as he has reduced mobility. And you could eat in as there is pub and restaurant.

Everything was fine, good check-in, requested different room, no problem. There seemed to be a shortage of beer choices at the bar other than that a comfortable stay

We had a lovely one-night stay at The Crown in Droitwich! The room was spotlessly clean, spacious, and perfect for our family. It was a pleasant surprise to find such a well-kept and peaceful place at such a reasonable price, especially during the summer season. The staff were welcoming and polite, and check-in was smooth. The location is ideal easy to find with free parking. Would definitely recommend it for families or anyone looking for a comfortable stopover in the area. Great value for money!

The room was not clean when we arrived but the manager attended to this and apologised. In the end she did everything she could to make us feel happier. The real issue is if the room we stayed in was the general standard for all rooms then they are not good enough. The place needs a revamp to be more in line with what the modern day traveller expects.

Don't stay on a Thursday the noise from the pub quiz is dreadful. No idea why the person doing quiz needs to be so loud that conversation in the pub is impossible. The rooms are basic - okay for one night. We have stayed here 4 times before as the location is perfect for us, the rooms have always been clean but on this occasion the bathroom was not properly cleaned and had hairs in sink on on toilet seat. The communal areas were also grubby and not clean

Could not have a bath and shower was very poor toilet was broken was not very clean cobwebs everywhere windows was very dirty but the breakfast was OK

Staff were exceptional, very friendly and helpful. room was large but outdated. Toilet surround had splatterers of sick and so many hairs/dirt in the shower. It's a shame as the staff were so lovely and polite.

We stayed over night, the room was excellent with so many electrical outlets (including USB). Unfortunately the hot water pressure was almost non-existent meaning it was impossible to shower in the morning of our departure. We didn't eat at the hotel as we were at an event with food provided. The menu looked like any other chain food.

We had a good stay - the king bed was excellent so we slept well. The room appeared fairly recently decorated. The bathroom was showing its age but still acceptable. The shower tended too much towards a dribble rather than a decent spray. Good quality towels were an important bonus as was a heated towel rail that worked well. The staff were universally friendly and efficient.

Clean, staff friendly. Perfectly fine except the thermostat on the radiator was broken and it blasted out heat all night. The only windows were high skylights and either it wasnt clear how to open them or they didnt really open. So unbearably hot all night. There was a tall fan which I had on all night so it seems the issue is known but not fixed. But for this I would have given 5 stars all round. No lift but thats normal. Suggested small improvement - some decaff tea in the room and some oat milk sachets but I dont know any hotel that provides these. Nice hotel, shame about the thermostat.

The hotel was very conveniently located, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room, however, was uncomfortably hot. The only windows were two skylights we couldn't reach (and were in any case over the beds). A fan was provided, which we had turned on throughout the night – which was very noisy – but the room was still too warm. The corridors, by contrast, were fully air-conditioned! An air-conditioning unit would be a good idea for this room.

The condition of the room was very poor, huge patches of paint cracked and missing. Cracked plaster and damaged, exposed wood. I was woken at 06.00 every morning by moving cages or something. The worst part after the awful condition of the room was I felt quite unsafe.. Access to the hotel was via a side door unlocked, directly into the accommodation off a residential street.

Would have been great but the whole experience was ruined by our room. It was airless and hot (we measured at 30 degrees) even after opening the roof windows it didn’t improve much. The fan was noisy and didn’t help. Made even worse as no curtains over the windows so we were woken up when it went light. I wouldn’t stay here again which is a shame as the location and everything else was good.

I thoroughly enjoyed my overnight stay and will certainly return next time I am in the area. I will also recommend the Crown to friends. Thank you all for your friendly efforts.

A quick over night stay for personal reasons. Check in was fine. Room was okay but a bit more attention to some detail would be beneficial. I couldn´t get the TV off the Netflix the previous guest had logged into.... My Continental breakfast was fine, the coffee excellent and the waitress was quick, pleasant and made me feel very welcome.

My wife is gluten free, so finds it hard to get suitable food, but they made every effort to make sure there was gluten free food for her. Staff were very pleasant.

We had a great time here. I messaged the hotel about my wife struggling to use stairs and they gave us a disabled room with a wetroom. I also mentioned that my lovely wife was coeliac and we found a gf menu waiting for us in our room. All the staff looked after us well and understood my wife's aĺlergic reaction to gluten.

Used the Crown to break a drive from Scotland to Cornwall. Very handy for the M5. Good value, comfy room. Will use it again.

Simple accommodation, reasonably priced. It was clean and comfortable located by a main road with a car park. The pub was deserted. Waited 25 minutes with no sign of human life to get a drink. was about to serve myself!

Good location for M5. Comfortable beds with plenty of power points.

Met by James, very friendly and went to room. Clean and tidy but the window area very dirty. Unfortunately fronting onto such a busy road there was constant traffic noise in Room 7. Parking was plentiful and check out the next day was easy.

Had a nice stay at the crown, easy to check in, room a good size and the bed was very comfortable. No noise from other rooms. Bathroom was clean and relatively new - shower power not great but was sufficient. We bought both dinner and breakfast in the pub and both were very nice. Much better than we expected for the price paid

Location was the only good part, we had booked a meal for 8 people and made sure when booked not to be in bar. But on the night this was what we ended up with , so not very happy , we had to order at bar as they were too busy to wait on us, when food arrived some dishes were wrong and cold, not a good experience and staff rude
