Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites LaGrange

Room was very clean, newly renovated on our floor and very comfortable. Staff was wonderfully friendly and helpful. Daytime front desk gentlemen was very helpful for suggestions of area attractions. We came at a bad time during renovations. Boxes of mattresses and such everywhere in common areas. Covers off HVAC units were off in hallway making me afraid of fires and exercise room was closed. Although breakfast was suppose to be served until 10 am, it was put up at 9:30 on the day we left. All that being said, I would stay again after renovations are completed.

If you are bougie, pick a different hotel. For the rest of you.. The hotel is being worked on, so there was lots of dust and construction in the hallway. The hallway smells bad, the carpet is ripped up and raggedy. Our room was basic, it did appear clean, except for the carpet, which got our feet filthy. The smoke detector was covered in plastic and taped up. The bathroom needed remodled. The hot water was nice for showers. The beds were comfortable. The hot breakfast was great. The apple juice machine needed cleaned, the juice was watered down and smelled sour. The black lady that checked us in was very friendly and helpful, the owners... not so much. The pool was closed, that was very aggravating.

Room was smaller than expected so had to get a second room. I didn't stay in the first room but the second room we rented was room 204 and the bathroom vent was broken and the toilet paper holder was broken off. I noticed the elevator safety inspections in both elevators were expired in October 2022 and it is now May 2023. The pool wasn't clean when we arrived abd we had to wait another day for that so didn't even get to use the pool the first day of our stay.

Hotel was under complete construction which would have been fine EXCEPT we weren’t notified of this before hand. We reserved 2 rooms however they were on 2 separate floors. Was told by front desk staff there was no option to moves rooms closer. One room was to be a suite with couch bed NEITHER room had a couch. Tv was broken in one room although they did get that fixed fairly quickly.

The staff was excellent, but there were a couple of maintenance issues that detracted from the stay. The HVAC equipment in the room made a loud clicking noise after it reached temperature and shut off the fan—it was loud enough to wake me up several times. The elevators had signs posted recommending you have a cellphone on you, if you take the elevators, because there was a higher-than-usual chance you’ll get stuck! There were additional signs inside the elevator cabs listing the front desk phone number and highlighting the call button for emergency service! I didn’t get stuck but think a better elevator service plan would probably be a more effective “fix” to the problem.

The property was OK and it served the purpose for the night. The only complaints I have are one of the elevators was Out of Commission and the shower allowed water to come out on the floor. The elevator issue may have been out of their control, but the wait time was inconvenient. even with the minor inconveniences it was way better than paying 2 - 3 times the price in Auburn due to graduation weekend.

The carpet in the room was stained in multiple places. The bathroom sink was scratched and marred. There was no light bulb in two lamps. Room did not have a Do Not Disturb placard. The grounds were littered. A construction crew was literally at our 3rd floor window with wall plaster at 7:30am on Sunday morning. The fitness center was closed. Other than the friendly lady at check-in, there was NOTHING good about the place. And, it was NOT bargain basement pricing, it was more than surrounding properties. I chose it for Wingate’s reputation which they totally ruined.

The property was undergoing repairs so it was a little dusty. The accessible room wasn’t accessible.

Only 1 elevator was working. Shortage on linens.

We confirmed early check in before our stay, our room was not available upon check in. We were then put in 4 different rooms before they were able to locate a room with a king bed. The hotel was under construction at our time of stay, we would not have stayed here had we known. There were boxes blocking the drive up, a random blown tire on the middle of the drive. It was messy in the lobby, loud on our floor with construction. The walls do not block sound of any sort. The air conditioner barely kicked on and when it did it shook the whole room. There was only a plug on one side of the bed, the backboard installed over the other side of the bed. There wasn’t even a trash can in our room, ice machine didn’t work on our floor. The list goes on! What a terrible, unorganized, generally dirty hotel.

It was listed as an “Excellent” property but I’m not sure how.. it wasn’t clean- my room had old, stained carpet, plus dirty walls. When I pulled back the top of the duvet, there was a stain on it. The room air system is also old- it was stuffy in the room and you could only feel air if you stood directly in front of the vents. Only half of the lamps worked because the other half were missing bulbs. Plus the internet connection kept dropping throughout the night. Overall, not a great stay.

Under construction and appears to be knee deep in a renovation. Cleanliness in the hallways was lacking. The carpet in the room was scary, we kept our shoes on at all times. No fitness center open. BUT the front desk clerk was lovely upon our 6pm checkin-very friendly and helpful.

The hotel is in renovation and the whole hotel should’ve been closed. Their carpet was so dirty and the ceiling was peeling off with water marks and molds. I started feeling sick.

The Room was dirty. Dead bugs everywhere, carpet was disgusting. Stains on the wall. Furniture had stains. Molded ceiling tiles in the hallway, the blower in the bathroom was held together by duct tape. Will never stay at this hotel again.

When we first went into our room there were piles of hair on the floor, and we killed multiple cockroaches in the room during our stay. We have stayed at the hotel multiple times over the last 10 years, and had great experiences. However, it has been about 2 years since our last stay and the property’s upkeep and cleanliness has definitely gone down hill over that time.

Upon entering the room it was cool (which was good). Upon further inspection of the room, I noted the coffee maker lid to be dirty. Once the lid to the coffee maker was removed the part where you pour water into was disgusting. It was apparent that it has not been cleaned or inspected. The tray beside the coffee maker was dirty with brown stuff (maybe coffee was spilled on it previously). We wanted some ice for our cups we brought from home and when I removed the lid to the ice bucket there was mold on it. Stuff on the wall that looked like smeared nasal drainage. Three pillows on each bed that is the size of a couch decor pillow. We brought our own. There wasn’t any noisy customers. There were no issues with checking in or out. Some of the breakfast items were not fresh. We went to a drive thru restaurant nearby for breakfast. The refrigerator in the room does not have a freezer in it. We brought protein shakes in our cooler with ice packs hoping we could freeze the ice packs for the trip back home. We stayed here about 2-3 years ago and it was excellent! I don’t know what has happened since then but we were very disappointed especially considering the amount we paid. There was a good amount of dust in the room and bathroom.

The rooms were very dirty. We had to switch rooms & each was just as bad as the other. Stains on the sheets. Hair on toilet, tub walls, floor & bathroom walls. Mold on the shower walls. Two bugs in the bath. No hot water. Broken tub drain. Broken toilet paper roll. Paper was sitting on top of the dispenser. The worst was when the blowdyer caught fire upon turning it on. In the room they moved us to, the refrigerator did not work. The hallway floors were very dirty. There were rocks & debris all over. They were not vacuumed for the three days/ two nights, we were there. There was a straw wrapper that never moved. I have never experienced anything like that before. I did let management know and they didn’t seem concerned.

We have been staying at the Wingate in Lagrange every year for the past seven years. We even got married in Lagrange and our guests also stayed at the hotel. This was the first time we were disgusted and felt dirty during our stay. We were handed keys to a room that was literally falling apart, the shower curtain was hanging its last thread, there was spilled coffee on wall, and dirty hand and feet prints on another wall. We were upgraded to a suite for the inconvenient but the suite had a broken table, jelly on the wall, stains on the couch, and smelled of urine. We heard there is new management at this location, they need to do better. We won’t be staying there again.

Property needs updating. Bathrooms were undesirable with VERY low toilets and black mold on the inside of the door. Carpets were dingy and discolored, wall had spots and areas that looked dirty or discolored. It did have clean sheets and no bed bugs.

This hotel does all the basic stuff right - room was (mostly) clean and comfortable and spacious, helpful staff, everything works. However, beyond that not much can be said. It seemed basic or skimpy in terms of the furniture, decor, cleanliness of halls, soap and shampoo provided, etc. Signs in the parking lot warning "we are not responsible for damage or theft to your vehicle", even if that's true for every hotel, were not reassuring (we saw no problems at all in this regard). An adequate hotel, a step up from Motel 6, but that's about it.

The bed was comfortable. The room was sparse, missing coffee maker, a table, comfortable chair.

Overall everything was ok. Expected more updates such as USB outlets. Shower fixtures need to be replaced. Water took a long time to heat up. The bed was comfortable and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I did see the owner driving around in his Tesla truck but he never said a word and seemed to be in a bad mood this morning and yesterday afternoon when we were checking in. For the price I expected it to be better than it was. I have stayed in Lagrange a few times and there are hotels that are $30-40 per night cheaper and in the same shape.

Many of the lightbulbs in the room were missing. The toilet paper holder was missing. The thermostat was broken and the room was very, very cold. Possessions of the previous guest were left in the room. This was one of the higher priced properties in the area. They should have done better.

Bed was comfortable & room was clean. However Thin walls & Loud tv playing next door disturbed the comfort of the stay

Aging property … the bedside lamp was missing an on/off switch. But you get what you pay for, right? Clean and quiet … great for a one night stop

Room needed painting and the carpet was stained. Walls are not sound proof.

The stay here wasn't good for us. Maybe we were "dealt" a bad room, but between very loud AC unit and hearing every step of people upstairs we got very little rest. In addition there was mold on all walls in the bathroom, stained furniture and carpet. You can see watter damage to the door. Very disappointed, not sure how this hotel gets any good rating at all. Will be contacting management about the mold issue, its unsafe. They need to assess their rooms and afdress these issues. Our room was #126.

The front desk manager was impertinent. When I checked in and went to our rooms, one of the rooms had bedding that smelled bad. When I informed her of this, she seemed to consider my concerns as disingenuous, unnecessary, and irrational. I had to eventually beg her to let me have clean sheets & pillow cases to put in the bed myself, which she reluctantly and eventually gave me. So I, with the help of my elderly and tired parents, had to remake the bed themselves. Some of the other workers were kind and helpful. However, she set the atmosphere and became the catalyst for me & my family to conclude that we would never return there ever again.

Went for a baseball tournament. There are signs everywhere that the property is being renovated- which we understand. When I went in to check in the woman - I did not catch her name, was extremely rude. When we got to our room it was a single king- we needed a double bed. So, I went back down to switch our room.

Everyone we met from the hotel were very helpful and welcoming

The front desk staff were very nice and accommodating. The rooms were dated and the carpets were probably clean, but looked dirty because of stains. Towels had stains on them. Stayed 2 nights and had no maid service during stay, in fact they took our towels but didn’t replace them. Bed not made. Ran out of tissues and no replacement. Trash not emptied.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean. The hotel was quiet. One comment, maybe a paint job to freshen it up! Otherwise, I will stay in there again my next visit!

Checked in around 12:30am and was met with the coolest most professional agent at the check in. David was awesome and made my stay 5 stars. When back in Lagrange I will definitely be coming back.

I recently stayed at your establishment for 12 days, occupying three rooms, and unfortunately, my experience was less than satisfactory. While I acknowledge the change in ownership in August, I find it challenging to accept this as a valid excuse for ongoing issues months later. My primary concern revolves around the security and privacy of the rooms. Despite having the "Do Not Disturb" sign on my door, my room was entered, and personal items, including my yellow washcloth, electric toothbrush, shampoo, and soap, were inexplicably removed by housekeeping. This breach of privacy is deeply unsettling, and despite my daily attempts to address the matter with the manager, I received no response. It was only after reaching out to the Director of Sales that I obtained assistance, although he claimed ignorance of the issue, contradicting information I received from the front desk staff. Additionally, in one of the other rooms, I discovered the door left ajar and unlocked, creating an unsettling sense of vulnerability for two out of three guests. While fortunately, no belongings were stolen, the mere thought of potential violations leaves a lasting negative impression. I appreciate the gesture of comping one night in acknowledgment of the issues, but it does little to remedy the underlying problems. The front desk staff, while commendable for their kindness, seem to lack the authority to address and resolve issues effectively. The evening personnel, in particular, lacked cs skills

Convenient location . Was able to do pre check prior to arrival.

The location was great, very easy to find. Everything was clean and fresh as far as room, towels, bedding, breakfast area, reception and pool. The only complaint I had was due to the a/c unit in the room. The thermostat was a little hard to figure out especially w/ no instructions. Our room temperature never dropped down under 75 degrees even after we set it to 70.

Comfortable, close by the interstate yet far enough away to not be noisy. Rooms are not new, yet clean. Adequate hot/cold breakfast options. Staff was extremely friendly/helpful! Stayed here on multiple occaisions while traveling through. $$, reasonable for the location/facilities. One could definitely spend more and still not sleep as well.

It was fine for the price they charged and in a good location for me. I had difficulty controlling the temp in my room but other than that it’s a good place to stay

This property is right across the street from an industrial park and there were several 18 wheelers parked at the hotel when I pulled in. Truckers gotta sleep too but maybe there could be a spot around the back for the big rigs. I didn't know the area at all and wasn't expecting it to be a hub for truckers. However the area is beautiful and the Cracker Barrel breakfast was great.

Very convenient location with easy access to area attractions, dining and shopping options. I have stayed at this property in the past and returned since my first visit was satisfactory. Staff was helpful and breakfast offered a variety of food choices.

Could have a better breakfast, the food was always stale, dried out, even at the very start of breakfast. Paid $4 for an ice cream cone that had previously melted and refrozen, tasted old and freezer burnt. The mattress cover was nasty, with stains and dried blood all over it, the white comforter was filthy, and replacement blanket had blood stains on it. Just a little more attention to details and underlying cleanliness needs to be a priority

When I walked in to check in, the lady behind the desk did not even smile. The air conditioner in the room was not cool, and there was a light shining directly into our room at night and we could not close the curtains to block it out. At breakfast, the sausage was rubbery and cool. We left to eat elsewhere. Overall, it was a very unpleasant stay.
