I was disappointed that the hot tub was gone and the place seemed to be run down a bit. I think the pandemic did a number on this hotel. The food was still good in the breakfast area but no restaurant or food at the bar. No room service either. We were hungry when we arrived and no food in the hotel. Hopefully they can get back to where they used to be before the pandemic. Great restaurant, hot tub, etc.

Good location & service. The facility was a bit worn but we were glad to have a studio suite with full kitchen for our 8-night stay. There’s a bit of misleading info on this facility’s site & signage around the building. They state they have a hot tub (even listed on their internal TV info) & daily happy hour with complimentary beverages & snacks. There is no hot tub (but an indoor pool) or happy hour. The cocktail lounge is open limited hours & serves no food. We had nightcaps at another Marriott hotel a block away. Because the cruise ship dock is nearby, there’s lots of tour groups in & around the hotel. The staff do a great job serving lots of people with quick turnaround.

Housekeeping was cut back to every other day, including towels and bed makeup, which was inconvenient. Desk staff and location great. Room was somewhat strangely laid out but plenty roomy for a longer stay. Nice view to the harbor. Breakfast handy but limited help-yourself selection. Parking next door with free in and out very useful in parking constrained area.

Perfect stay for The Polar Express! Friendly staff! Great breakfast! Parking garage says it’s $64 for the night but use your phone number to enter and then ask the front desk for a garage parking pass and you will only get charged $35. No food at restaurant on site.

Location is about 10 min walk (with little ones) to the waterfront area and restaurants. Far enough to be quite but close to get around without driving. The daily breakfast was actually very good! Make your own waffle station was a hit. Also served scramble eggs, turkey and pork sausage, breads, yogurt, cereal. Pleanty to choice from. Pool is large enougn but no hot tub and does not looked to be cleaned daily as there was a knot of hair floating on day 2 of our stay. Sort of expected for a 3 star hotel. Parking is $30/day at hotel. We actually lucked out as stayed on Sunday and a Monday holiday so street parking was free both days. Pmm Room with very clean and new little kitchenette.

We had a first floor suite. When we walked it the musty smell was overwhelming. There was a dehumidifier but it was full. We went to desk and they switched our room immediately. The room they moved us too was better but not great. There was milder musty odor and another full dehumidifier. We moved it to the hallway. The staff picked it up but did not replace it. Not a hotel for anyone with allergies or asthma. Will not stay here again

I was very disappointed in this stay. Be prepared to take care of yourself and to find a dirty room. When we checked in there were cookie crumbs all over the chairs and floor and the bathroom. There were also bottle caps and peoples hair in the bathroom. The bedding had stains of unknown origins. And then you learn that you will be paying $30 per in and out for parking on top of the price for your stay. The breakfast was terrible. Not even worth the walk down. This is not close to much as far as activities so be prepared to pay that parking fee and it continues to climb up. And if you need ice, be prepared to go down to the front desk for it and to relieve it in a plastic trash bag!

I usually do not complain, but i am incredibly disappointed about the service me and boyfriend experienced at the residence inn. We were staying for 3 nights and on day 2 we asked if we could get our room cleaned. The front desk was dismissive and told us they could only clean our room after we had checked out. On our final day, I found dried up dog poop in the bedroom, and when I informed the front desk they said they couldn’t do anything for us, but had to file a complaint with expedia. We did not get any apology or any kind of explanation, but the front desk was immediately super dismissive and clearly just wanted to get rid of us. This kind of behaviour is unacceptable especially for a hotel of this ranking. I had booked a stay in portland at the residence inn to celebrate my boyfriends birthday, not to stay in a dog feces infested room that clearly doesn't get cleaned regularly. I want a refund and an apology.

The AC is the room did not work…. The cabinet doors where loose and about to fall off. This was booked several months in advance… went to check in at 3:45 and the room was not ready, check in is at 4. We had to wait by the front desk with all luggage and keep asking front desk for status. Room was not ready until 4:30 and we had 5:15 dinner reservations which we where almost late for. Not impressed for the price paid

The location was excellent. Walking distance to so many bars, shops, and restaurants. The front desk staff was so helpful. Advised us a parking option that was super close and free! The hotel itself is very nice with a bar and great free breakfast! The room was large, comfortable and well appointed. Would definitely stay there again.

I paid $30/night extra for the room with Harbor view, and the room we got had a view of a building with the Harbor view. This hotel does not really have any Harbor view as it is located two blocks from the harbor with buildings between the hotel and the harbor. When I brought up this issue to the receptionist, she refused to adjust the rate. If you care about the view, stay in a different hotel. If you do not care about the view, do not overpay for the rooms advertised as having the Harbor View. This is a misleading advertisement.

Mackenzie at the front desk is awesome! She made suggestions remembered us and made us feel welcome. A true gem of service and hospitality. Breakfast was expansive with options sit in or take away to room. Excellent location to stay if you are visiting and don’t want a car or have a rental and want to travel. Travel as tourists often and will recommend if traveling to Maine or just Portland. Cheers

I booked this room three weeks in advance for my first girls trip in 10 years. We wanted to stay in downtown Portland so we could walk around and shop and go to restaurants. It took me three hours to drive to Portland when I got there they told me that they canceled my reservation due to limited inventory. I asked when they were going to notify me about this and they stated they sent me an email I showed up at the hotel at 3 PM. They sent me the email at 1:15 PM. I was already on the road and not able to check my email while driving. They stated not to have my phone number because I booked through Expedia. When I book this room, I was going to pay $350 for the night the day before I got there that same night was going for 600. My guess is they overbooked and since I booked through a third-party they decided I wasn’t worthy enough to stay in their hotel and then they could get more money from someone else. Again, my first trip away from my children and my husband and a decade and it is ruined. They put us up in a cheap hotel by the mall and the airport 15 minutes away in a completely different town they offered to pay for my Uber receipts and the room. But honestly, they ruined my vacation. I’m going to go out of my way not to stay at this hotel chain again, but I also think I might not book through Expedia any longer as it seems like when you go through a third-party the hotels care about less. Disappointed is an understatement.

We loved this hotel. The staff was the friendliest I have ever encountered. The room was very nice and comfortable. The breakfast was outstanding. Easy walk to shows, breweries and lots of shops and restaurants. Safe area.

If you're looking for lodging for more than one night then stay here. Our room had a full kitchen which was great for keeping some food items, making coffee etc. We were able to get free street parking overnight which was nice and we could walk to shops and restaurants in old port in less than 10 minutes. There's also a free breakfast buffet with a lot of good choices.

Convenient location, housekeeping policy (every other day) was confusing. Breakfast was the very same thing everyday. Outdoor courtyard area on 2nd floor was not kept up. Staff was very accommodating. We did not have a car so don’t know about parking. Rooms seemed a little worn.

The breakfast items to choose from was plentiful. The staff member Troy who was responsible for overseeing this area was on top of everything. As a person in the food industry he did everything right including speaking with the guests to make sure they were happy.
