Good location. Fantastic staff with a great friendly welcome for us. All staff were so professional and attentive. Lovely comfortable room with a balcony overlooking table mountain. Brasserie restaurant was delicious and the staff were so knowledgeable about the dishes and wine selection. Spa was lovely and pool area. Breakfast was so good with a grewt variety. We have already booked our return trip!

The Taj never disappoints! The staff at this Capetown location is superb! Some of the nicest and most genuine people I have met in Africa. The location is perfect if you need to be in the center of town and the gym/sauna/pool are open 24/7.

Excellent stay! Our room was amazing with a spectacular view of Table Mountain. The hotel amenities were plentiful and the staff was top tier. Room service was excellent. Laundry services were excellent as well. When we were unable to book a massage at the spa due to unavailability, the hotel arranged a mobile spa to come directly to our room instead. We had a reservation at Fyn restaurant, and the manager had security walk my husband and I over to ensure our safety at night. When I forgot something in the room after checkout, the concierge organized a courier from the hotel to deliver it to our next hotel in Constantia. Everything was simply five stars, and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again when visiting Cape Town.

Idéalement placé au cœur du Cap, il permet de découvrir le patrimoine du centre ville à pied - Jardins de la Compagnie, Bo Kap etc - pas de sentiment d'insécurité comme je le craignais, y compris le soir où nous sommes sortis diner à pied. Le Victoria and Alfred warterfront est facielement accessible en taxi ou Uber. Belle chambre digne du standing de l’hôtel. Avec vue sur le Montagne de la table et la ville comme nous l'avions choisi. Petit déjeuner très complet. Personnel accueillant. Petite piscine mais vraiment agréable parce qu'elle n'est pas très fréquentée. Sauna de belle taille dans les vestiaires. Enfin le parking est asssuré par un service de valet pour un prix très abordable. Recommandé !

The stay at Taj was just amazing. The staff were so friendly, felt like home. The facilities, services, food, ambience, top notch! Really loved the idols (lord idols) at the entrance as the decor😍 The indoor pool was heated, and fun given the rainy condition during the stay. Location is really good, with pretty streets at a walking distance. Masala tea in the morning was cherry on top. Would definitely come again!

We had a wonderful stay at The Taj. The location was perfect, right in the heart of town, which made exploring so easy. The hotel was beautiful and the service was excellent throughout our visit. I made use of the spa and truly enjoyed the treatment, which was deeply relaxing and a real highlight. A lovely touch was the friendship bracelets on arrival. I still have mine and it is such a special reminder of our stay. I would highly recommend this hotel.

The dining experience in their upscale restaurant was horrible . I was celebrating my birthday , the waitress slapped a nasty piece of old brownie with a candle while my mom was in the bathroom with chocolate smeared all over the plate. I asked her do you want to sing happy birthday to myself? Food was old .. recycled . Even the manager at the restaurant did not try to accommodate us.. seated my mother on a high top table . The room we had was not cleaned some days .. I had to throw garbage outside on the hallway . The room was also overpriced for this type of lousy service . The concierge instead of helping us was trying to sell us tours ..

Overall a disappointment from a well regarded brand. Checkin was rushed and impersonal, also they don’t preauthorise credit card, but rather charge for incidentals in advance, at check in. Most unimpressively, there is no evening turndown service (which is shocking for a luxury brand!). Valet parking returned my car covered in bird poop (when I complained they did have this washed). Oddly there was a drought of towels, which were taken away and not replaced. Overall just disappointing for a brand with such prestige.

We as a family have a huge regards for the brand Taj. Their service , cleanliness and location is always top notch. However , with Taj Cape Town - we were hugely disappointed with the room housekeeping services. On all the times that we would return from our day trip / sightseeing- only the bath towels would be replaced along with some toiletries. The bedding was done but not the same as it should be. The water bottles were replaced but no drinking water glasses kept, the cake I received on my bday was stale, not sure when this was kept as we were out. The table was dirty , the used plates weren’t removed , the coffee machine was smelling of leftover coffee. Positives were : the checkin experience , concierge services were great . But when we were checking out - we weren’t asked about if we would need help with our bags from the room. Mint Restaurant staffs were great. They took good care of our buffet breakfast meal and I have left positive comments on the feedback form. These are little things that makes a positive experience. Hence, marking the overall experience as average, cos despite the overall good experience: the cleanliness of the room upset us whenever we walked in to the room after a tiring day.

This is the best hotel I have stayed. Excellent value. The staff are ever ready to help and cheerful, always smiling. The room was clean and maintained twice daily. The food in the restaurant was excellent quality and tasty. The breakfast has a lot of choices. Everything was great and I will definitely stay here again if revisiting Cape Town

The room was fabulous with its view of Table Mountain and the beautiful decor and excellent amenities throughout the hotel. Service and friendliness of the staff were superb and the location couldn’t have been better. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Cape Town.

Stay was was excellent. Breakfast was amazing. The heritage wing is dated and has creeky wooden floors which was disturbing and a noise thats annoying. The heritage wing also needs a refurb. Other than that it was an excellent stay.
Stay was was excellent. Breakfast was amazing. The heritage wing is dated and has creeky wooden floors which was disturbing and a noise thats annoying. The heritage wing also needs a refurb. Other than that it was an excellent stay.

I spent 6 nights there for a conference with my wife and baby. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, and it was truly a treat to stay there. I was impressed by the professionalism of the staff, as well as the quality of the cocktails and restaurants. A wonderful experience overall. This will definitely be my hotel of choice next time.

Beautiful hotel with fabulous onsite restaurants- we ate at the Bombay Brasserie and the Mint restaurant, both great dining experiences . The lounge bar was comfortable with a Happy Hour from 5 - 7pm daily - fabulous cocktails. Our room was spacious and the bed was comfy - we slept well. All the staff at the hotel were very polite, engaging and helpful. We would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again.

Room was Amazing, choices of pillows, every small detail catered for. Food in Mumbai Brasserie was delicious, staff very attentive, absolutely loved it. Food in the Mint restaurant was also fabulous as well, however, service is on the slower side. Choices for the breakfast is fantastic, caters for all, staff can be more attentive. At times they are away with the fairies. For me this can hamper Taj’s good name, who is renowned for their attentiveness ( Especially what I have experienced in Indian Branches).

From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. We were welcomed with complimentary champagne, and our room felt more like a private suite—spacious, beautifully appointed, and exceptionally comfortable. The in-room service was prompt and thoughtful. Whether it was requesting extra tea bags, a tea pot, laundry bags, or any other small needs, the staff handled everything with efficiency and a smile. Grerat hotel and nice spacious rooms. A bit far from the nice restaurants, shopping and bars, but extremley cheap to go there with Bolt, Uber ets, so didn't matter. Nice food, nice pretty much everything, but bwe had an unfortunate insident one oof the last nights. Since we travelled with a minor we wanted to have a conpany car/ hotel car pick her up since the rest of us were attending/ hosting a company dinner. We waited outside the venue for 1 hour and ever since we called to order it the first time we were told the car was 1- 2 minutes away.. It was not.. We called more than 10 times during the hour- everytime to be told 1- 2 mins away. Totally ruined the dinner we were hosting and we ended up with Bolt after 1 hour and 6 minutes... When adressing hotel Manager following morning he was most concerned we got angry .. "they didnt appreciate that".. Not very prefissional. Everything else very good.

Fantastc hotel in great area of the city. Walking distance to many historic sights, the Bo Kaap, restaurants and shopping. Great food and service within the hotel. Hotel staff was very friendly and efficient. Room was large and comfortable. We enjoyed our 3 night stay very much and will definitely seek out more Taj properties in future travels.

It is always a pleasure to stay at a Taj Hotel. The service and restaurants at the Taj Cape Town were outstanding. We had a stunning view of Table Mountain and Lions Head from our room, that even had a small balcony. The Centre City location next to the Company Gardens was excellent. Our first day we walked through the lovely gardens and enjoyed the Cape Town Museum of Natural History. We also took guided walking tours from the St George’s pedestrian mall right behind the hotel, one history of Capetown and one on Apartheid, walk to freedom. Bo Cape, with the colorful painted houses was right up the street.

We had a wonderful stay at The Taj. The location was perfect, right in the heart of town, which made exploring so easy. The hotel was beautiful and the service was excellent throughout our visit. I made use of the spa and truly enjoyed the treatment, which was deeply relaxing and a real highlight. A lovely touch was the friendship bracelets on arrival. I still have mine and it is such a special reminder of our stay. I would highly recommend this hotel.

I had a wonderful time staying at Taj. I had a wonderful views. The staff were so kind, courteous, and considerate. They even extended my check out when I asked but placed me in another room. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The area is a little sketchy at night and it’s always recommended to take Uber or taxi even if it’s 2 blocks away.

I’ve stayed at Taj Cape Town several times over the years, and it’s always been one of my favourite hotels in the city. The location is good — right in the heart of Cape Town, close to the Company’s Garden and many of the city’s main attractions. The staff are truly wonderful — warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. Unfortunately, during this stay, my travel companions experienced an unpleasant situation: a portion of their cash went missing from their belongings. Not the entire amount, but enough to be noticed. Thankfully, the hotel management handled it professionally and provided compensation, which was appreciated — but still, it’s a reminder to keep valuables very secure and to be cautious even with the in-room safe. Overall, Taj Cape Town remains a charming and well-located hotel with excellent service and kind people. With some renovation and tighter security measures, it could easily return to being one of the best hotels in the city.

Beautiful hotel, with nice rooms and good location in the city centre. We thought the hotel was good value for money. I love the Taj amenities! Had a massage at the spa by Yanga which was divine and I would definitely recommend it. I have been to much better spa’s in terms of atmosphere and service, however cannot fault the massage. Breakfast was wonderful and we had dinner included in our package at the Mint. Having stayed at other Taj resorts, we were disappointed with the service in the restaurants. This included service with the staff and slowness in the kitchen too. During one dinner at Mint, we had to wait close to an hour before our main meal arrived since placing our food order. There is one server Khanyi, I have to call out. She was exceptional and a real standout with service compared to some of the other staff at Mint. We dined at the Bombay Brasserie one evening and we were disappointed with the service again and food was ok. Overall the food and service did not stand up to the expectations that we had.

I had the best ever check-in, in my long history of staying in five-star hotels, at the Taj by Zim. She provided a high-level personalised service. Even after I had checked in, she was always trying to provide something extra for me whenever she saw me. She also ensured I also received good service at the restaurant. The hotel in general is good, clean and comfortable. The heated indoor swimming pool is a winner. I really liked it. I had issues with my shower, which was fixed, and the tap in the wash basin which was not dispensing hot water. This was not fully fixed. My only issue was with the provision of Vegan food during dinner. The general understanding of Veganism was limited. The burger is stated to be Vegan in the menu when it is not; it has yoghurt in it. This was day one. After explaining clearly I was Vegan, on day two, I got a soup with cheese in it. When the 'Vegan' meal arrived - it came with yoghurt as a side dish. It was only on day three that everything fell into place. Zim's interventions for me helped. The service staff were very good and always pleasant and supportive. It was a kitchen issue. I sat for almost two hours waiting for two dishes. Fortunately, this did not happen during breakfast as Chef Abdul showed me all the Vegan dishes daily. The Taj has a reputation which precedes itself. When I told locals I was going to stay in The Taj, they always responded with: "That's a very good hotel." It is also well located.

Gorgeous Tower Room, beautifully decorated. Staff and food were great, we dined in the Bombay Brasserie as well as the Mint Restaurant, both meals were excellent. Good stay at Taj Cape Town. Excellent breakfast at Mint. Stayed in a suite. Great view of the mountain. Good bathroom size. Enjoyed the facilities. Only downside was that they didn't make up our room the one day. Called Housekeeping when we got back at 16h30. After a second call, they only sent someone at 18h30. This was a major downer. Expected better service than this.
