The Hotel Niu is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. After a horrific commute into the country, the welcome to the hotel was second to none. Daniel was an absolutely fantastic host on the reception, he asked if I wanted a queen bed, as floors below the 4th floor were 2 single beds pushed together. I asked to have the queen and that was the room we were given. We got breakfast included with our stay and also signed up for the IHG Rewards. Daniel was an incredible host, he made us feel so welcome and he went above and beyond for us. He gave us brilliant recommendations for places to see, eat and drink across Cologne like a local! Sebastian was an equally wonderful staff member who kept us entertained behind the bar every night! He was such a joy to be around and he was so friendly and attentive. The cocktails were also fantastic! I would come back to the Niu simply for these staff members! I also loved the breakfast, it was replenished very regularly, offering a huge variety of options for every taste. The room was a lovely size, enough room for all of our things and the bed was so comfy! I adored everything about this hotel and I would highly highly recommend it!

Good standard hotel with all you need. Convenient with parking also. However, beware of inflexible booking policies! We had to reschedule a trip a little since we could not change the booking once it was made. A bit below standards of other similar hotels. Apart from that, not so much to complain about.

Der Service war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Es war fußläufig alles gut erreichbar. Das Zimmer war klein, was für eine Nacht aber vollkommen ausreichend war. Die Einrichtung war modern, sauber und in einem sehr guten Zustand. Leider war die Dusche mit Rotschimmel (Fugen) und Schwarzschimmel (Silikon) versehen, was an der mangelnden Belüftungsmöglichkeit (keine Fenster) liegen könnte. Das wäre aber tatsächlich der einzige Kritikpunkt.

An der Badtür befanden sich Überreste verschütteter Flüssigkeit, auf dem Teppichboden waren "seltsame" Flecken und die Wände waren teilweise verschmutzt. Der Raucherbereich vor dem Haus war verdreckt und die Mülleimer schlecht geleert. Das Personal war bemüht, aber ohne wirkliche Kenntnis vom Fach. Der Barkeeper wusste nicht wie man einen einfachen Scotch reicht, bzw. was das ist. Die Umgebung insbesondere für Frauen in den Abendstunden nicht unbedingt empfehlenswert.

Eigentlich war das Zimmer interessant eingerichtet. Leider war der Teppichboden stark verschmutzt und die Wände wiesen auch dunkle Streifen auf. Ausserdem hing eine Nachttischleuchte nur an einem „seidenen Faden“

Ich habe das Premium-Zimmer im Dachgeschoss gebucht, allerdings entsprach es leider nicht den Fotos, die online gezeigt wurden. Die Klimaanlage funktionierte nicht, was besonders unangenehm war – vor allem im Mai bei bereits sommerlichen Temperaturen unter dem Dach. Von den versprochenen Rituals-Produkten war kaum etwas vorhanden: Lediglich ein paar kleine Pröbchen – keine Duftstäbchen, kein Seifenspender, wie auf den Bildern suggeriert. Der Weg zum Zimmer war ebenfalls sehr umständlich: Man muss zwei separate Aufzüge benutzen und dabei ein regelrechtes Labyrinth durchqueren, um überhaupt zum ersten Aufzug zu gelangen. Insgesamt wurde der Eindruck eines Premium-Zimmers leider nicht erfüllt.

This was a bad experience. The hotel does not represent Holiday Inn experience. There is no sign of Holiday Inn from outside, only The-niu which was confusing to us and our taxi driver which we ended up in Holiday Inn Express, then returning to this hotel only to find the IHG signs inside by the check in desk. Complaining to the clerk ended up with nowhere other than apology, they are aware of the confusion that’s been creating with other guests as well. We saw other guests arrive with same problem. The room was very small, no closet, just a small rack to hang only two hangers. The staff was very nice. Bottom line, this is not the reputation of Holiday Inn definitely will not return.

On the first night at midnight planes were flying overhead every five mutes (on the hour & half an hour) and this went on for hours. I got no sleep until 5:00am. The manager was not too concerned about it and offered no apology. I was less than impressed with no where to put our luggage on, no Kleenex, no shampoo/conditioner, no slippers. Breakfast was okay, nothing great. We will not be coming back there. We have stayed in five hotels on this trip and this one was the worst hotel.

Es war für uns alles perfekt. Das Bett war super bequem, das Zimmer war riesig. Mit Klimaanlage, Soundsystem, was ich über Bluetooth steuern konnte. Sehr sauber, nettes Personal, sehr gutes Frühstück. Wir kommen definitv wieder.

Der Service war sehr freundlich, nur man musste sehr Oft auf den Service warten, sitzen draußen mit ihren Handy, und als Gast muss man den Service drauf hinweisen das Gäste warten. Was wir auch Schrecklich fanden, man hat ein Zimmer gebucht für mehre Tage, und muss dann trotzdem pro Tag Parkgebühren zahlen von 15,50 €. Die Parkhäuser in der Umgebung, sind bedeutet billiger. Wir werden in Zukunft, ein anderes Hotel uns suchen, wenn wir noch mal in Köln sind, wo man weis was Service heißt.

I asked to have the queen and that was the room we were given. We got breakfast included with our stay and also signed up for the IHG Rewards. Daniel was an incredible host, he made us feel so welcome and he went above and beyond for us. He gave us brilliant recommendations for places to see, eat and drink across Cologne like a local! Sebastian was an equally wonderful staff member who kept us entertained behind the bar every night! He was such a joy to be around and he was so friendly and attentive. The cocktails were also fantastic! I would come back to the Niu simply for these staff members! I also loved the breakfast, it was replenished very regularly, offering a huge variety of options for every taste. The room was a lovely size, enough room for all of our things and the bed was so comfy! I adored everything about this hotel and I would highly highly recommend it!

Great location to Weiner Platz, kiosk opposite open until the early hours. Staff helpful and friendly, service at hotel bar was a bit slow due to them manning both stations but selection was good. The property was well kept and very nice. The staff was friendly and helpful, not speaking German staff went out of his way to walk us down to the tram station to show us where to go what bus to take ect. We really enjoyed our stay

Er hat uns direkt ausgefragt, auf welches Konzert wir gehen, und sich mit uns mit gefreut. :-) Das Zimmer war sauber und hübsch. Frühstück hatten wir nicht mit gebucht, daher kann ich dazu nichts sagen.

Gute Lage, schnell von der A3 erreichbar unweit des Wiener Platzes von wo aus man mit dem ÖPNV überall hinkommt. Im Gegensatz zu manch anderen Bewertungen fand ich die Umgebung weder besonders „gruselig“ noch überaus dreckig oder gefährlich. Wir haben uns als zwei Frauen alleine zu jeder Zeit sehr sicher gefühlt. In der Nähe gibt es die Einkaufspassage Wiener Platz, mit allem was man braucht und ein 24h Kiosk. Das Personal im Hotel ist durch die Bank super freundlich, zuvorkommend und aufmerksam. Das Hotel sehr sauber und die Zimmer ansprechend. Wenn man gegenüber im Conti Parkhaus parkt, sollte man beachten dass am Sonntag nicht rein gefahren werden kann und am besten lässt man das Ticket nicht im Auto, sonst kommt man außerhalb der Öffnungszeiten nicht zu seinem Auto und Gebäude rein 😅

We just stayed at the Niu Hotel to walk to a music venue at the E-werke in 10-15 minutes, which was perfect. The hotel is spotless and compact, plus the personnel was friendly. The breakfast they offer is good, and I will book my next stay when I am in the Köln area.

The Hotel Niu is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. After a horrific commute into the country, the welcome to the hotel was second to none. An der Badtür befanden sich Überreste verschütteter Flüssigkeit, auf dem Teppichboden waren "seltsame" Flecken und die Wände waren teilweise verschmutzt. Der Raucherbereich vor dem Haus war verdreckt und die Mülleimer schlecht geleert. Das Personal war bemüht, aber ohne wirkliche Kenntnis vom Fach. Der Barkeeper wusste nicht wie man einen einfachen Scotch reicht, bzw. was das ist. Die Umgebung insbesondere für Frauen in den Abendstunden nicht unbedingt empfehlenswert.

Sauber, hell. Sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter. Gutes Frühstück. Leider ziemlich laut sowohl von draußen als auch innerhalb( andere Gäste- dafür kann das Hotel nichts) Hoteleigener Parkplatz 15€ die Nacht, außerhalb parken ist möglich.

Overall this property is great, the location is convenient for the train and there are restaurants nearby. Parking is very easy and convenient. The cafe/bar in the lobby is nice. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, and the breakfast is fantastic with lots of options. The only issue was with our shower. The shower door did not seal completely so there was always a lot of water on the floor after a shower. The exhaust fan in the bathroom is quite poor so there was obvious mold on some of the shower corners. I would stay here again though.
