Love this place, 2nd time we have stayed and will stay again. Amazing gardens and private beach are an extra bonus

A comprehensive check in process where we were told about all the hotel facilities. The room was comfortable and the bathroom more than adequate. The best parts of our stay were the warm welcome offered to our dog ( really dog friendly) the wonderful gardens and direct access to the beach, SW Coastal Path and a really good breakfast.

Absolutely beautiful hotel. We were luckily upgraded to a suite which had a lovely balcony overlooking the breathtaking gardens and private beach. Blankets were provided. Huge, comfortable double bed. Lovely toiletries. Had and excellent evening meal and breakfast. Friendly staff. Partner had a massage in the spa which added to his relaxing experience. Would thoroughly recommend.

The hotel is a hidden gem. It’s a great place to escape. The gardens are lush and beautiful, and the beach at Bream cove completes the picture. The Bream shack is so cute, great pizzas and welcoming, friendly staff member operating it. The room was hot at night, but we stayed during a heatwave ( there was a fan to assist). Sometimes service was slow but we discovered this was due to unexpected absences. Staff were generally efficient and friendly. There are plenty of lovely walks in the area. We walked to Maenporth beach along SW coast path. The hotel is dog friendly, providing a bed, bowls and towel. We all had a great time.

Such a lovely break thanks to the position of the hotel, the amazing “anything possible” and comfort of the hotel. The gardens are superb and the walk to the secluded beach with the offer of a lift back if needed. Truly dog friendly and as much attention paid to Woody as it was to us. Faultless stay and will definitely return later in the year. Thank you Hotel Meudon

Really lovely hotel with superb gardens and lovely walk down to the beach.

The property itself is beautiful, not much to do in the hotel itself. The dog had no extras included, staff were quite quick and not easy to find. No draft beer, bar only opened after 6pm so getting a drink was not easy. I didn’t use the dining facilities as dogs were only able to book in advance and I was unhappy with the level of service I received in general. The hotel was lovely to stay in for a couple of nights to relax and enjoy the gardens, I would recommend having a means of transport if you want to explore elsewhere.

There wasn’t a bath as advertised in the Hotel.com room description - I booked the hotel mainly because it had a bath in the bathroom as we don’t have one at home & was looking forward to a lovely bath after a long drive. After I explained my disappointment & also my reticence to move rooms after the first night in order to get a bath for the second night, the lovely Hotel Receptionists went out of their way to get another room ready for us which had a bath where we could stay for both nights of our stay. Very happy with this service & made a wonderful base for our Cornish Seal Sanctuary trip for me and my daughter. The restaurant has lovely view of gardens, feels elegant & food was delicious & high quality - they catered for my 11 year old daughter having something a bit more plain from the menu & friendly staff. Wouldn’t say it’s a good hotel for little children though. Gardens are wild and tropical and the giant gunnera are amazing - you feel like you’re in Honey I Shrunk The Kids. Not for the mobility impaired the walk down to the beach. But it’s not a long walk. The beach - when we were there it was unseasonably windy so we couldn’t swim but it’s great that the beach is right there. And sure it’s lovely to get hot chocolate or pizzas from their Bream Box down there open 12-4. Authentic Cornish experience for us. Loved it.

Beautiful site with terrible service. The staff that we got to talk to were really nice, but most of the time impossible to find. No housekeeping during our stay and if we needed anything there was no way to reach anyone. The pipes in my room creaked the whole night and no one did anything to fix it or even acknowledge the issue, even after I raised it repeatedly. The place is breathtaking, but it feels like the management doesn't care about the guests.

Beautiful location & ideal as we wanted to walk the coast path. Sadly we will not return as too many niggles :( Problems with check in, dinner reservation confusion & check out, the latter being we were overcharged by over £100, although eventually sorted. Food was beautifully presented, staff very pleasant, but for a fine dining experience and re the cost, we felt the restaurant needed some tlc re décor & cleanliness. We both had fish pie which was served with more potatoes & a little bit of spring greens; a bit of a cheap shot. Ate out after that. However, lovely views down the garden at breakfast time & a good menu choice/ buffet to start the day. Bed extremely comfortable & fab' shower, but our wet room was constantly that & with no underfloor heating trips to the loo meant wet feet! If towels were left on the towel rail they got soaked too. This could be an amazing hotel, but we just had the feeling that perhaps staffing was an issue as they all seemed to contradict each other with info' and no one appeared to be taking complete charge? Other guests that we got talking to seemed to have the same opinion. We were disappointed overall with our experience, but hopefully we just caught them at on off time.

The surroundings made the stay. Property was really dated and we felt like staying in a care home. However, it was clean and the views of the garden were great. Private beach just about 10mins of walk down through the gardens. Breakfast quality could be better.

Rooms too hot and no way of cooling them down. Beds uncomfortable. Hotel felt very tired and didn’t smell great. Staff were nice. Not the quality I’d expect for the cost. Lovely gardens.

We booked to stay here for Monday to Friday, but with the change in weather to give us glorious sunshine on our final day we booked another night. The staff arranged to move all our bags to the new rooms for us, and the whole stay was just relaxed and easy. The beds were so comfortable, we all slept brilliantly. The property is looking a little bit tired in places but this didn’t detract from our stay. There could be more that the hotel could do - the place has been modernised with crisp white bathrooms, but there was no shaver socket in there (you have to ask for a shaver plug), and there is no little light - so you either have the main light on or nothing which isn’t ideal in the middle of the night. The breakfast choices were great, but the indoor terrace where it is served became super hot when the sun caught it, the staff informed us that they were not allowed to close the venetian blinds though, but they did slide open the fire exit for us. There was no air conditioning in the rooms we stayed in so you either have the windows/sliding doors open or not - which isn’t ideal when the balcony the doors open out on to can be accessed from the grounds. Not that I think anything untoward would happen there, it does seem very safe indeed. Parking was easy, but only when there were enough spaces. Without doubt the location was the most amazing feature - just a short stroll to a small beach that very few people go to was excellent. Will we stay again? Absolutely yes.

What you cannot beat is the location to Bream Cove. Breakfast is classy, nothing too fussy but everything executed perfectly. Rooms are comfortable and the staff are all incredibly pleasant.

The grounds are spectacular and an easy walk to the beach. The staff were great especially Gerard. Room and ensuite bathroom nice. Dinner service the one night we ate there was extremely slow, but I suspect there was an issue in the kitchen that day and that was not the norm. We spent 2 nights there and I could have easily stayed longer! Thank you.

The rooms could do with more sound proofing. You could hear doors closing and showers running in other rooms. We also found the restaurant quite expensive.

A haven of trees and birdsong. Steady sloping access to a favourite stretch of coast through lush woodland. Friendly staff, nice rooms.

The general attention given by staff was excellent and they demonstrated a willingness to go the "little extra"to address questions or discuss general questions about the site.

Room was more than comfortable, Staff were friendly, efficient and helpful, breakfast was great and tasty. Definitely will be going back.

Wonderful tranquil location staffed by friendly helpful staff.

We arrived in the evening around 20:30 and had to wait around 20 mins for someone to arrive at reception to check us in. No sign of any staff anywhere - very odd. We were informed where our room was but nothing else regarding the hotel (dining room/bar/breakfast area/ luxury additions). We enquired about trying to get something to eat at the hotel but the FOH suggested we go back into Falmouth for some dinner as the kitchen was closed. This was a shame as we had been travelling for a couple of hours after a long working day - it wasn’t particularly late, but we understood. We found the breakfast room the following morning, despite no signs and still no sign of staff generally, we sat and had an alright breakfast at the set time we were given. Later in the day we explored the grounds to find some really gorgeous gardens and a private beach which was truly gorgeous - they’re very lucky to have something as special as that on their doorstop. We decided to stay and have dinner at the restaurant on the Saturday night instead of going into Falmouth for the food festival. The food was generally good - wine list was nice and the staff were very helpful - I think the person serving us was called JJ? Bravo to him - he’s an asset to your team. The following morning unfortunately we were waiting on the stairwell to breakfast for 40mins and didn’t end up getting anything as there were guests leaving the dining room stating that they had been waiting over an hour for an egg…

A wonderful stay with very friendly and helpful staff. However like so many businesses, recruitment is a bit of an issue so at times it took a little longer for service. Would we go back? Absolutely 👍

We returned to this hotel as we love the quiet location and beautiful subtropical gardens. The walk down to the secluded beach through the gardens is a real treat. The service is wonderful, the food is excellent and all in all it’s a fabulous place to stay and relax.

Stayed many years ago and high standards have remained. Beautiful gardens. Only downside was the dinner menu which did not change over the three nights we stayed. When we commented on this, we were told that out of high season, guests didn’t stay for more than one or two nights.

The location that the hotel is set in is amazing. Great views from the dining room. Was a bit disappointed with the price and choice on the menu.

Room was adequate but everything had the feel of something stuck in 1950. Dining room uncomfortably quiet and a number of items on menu unavailable. Only one beer to chose from. Seemed like they were operating on a shoe string to close down. No one offered to help with our bags or provide information about how to access our room without stairs.

Grounds and gardens are lovely here. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, although the service was a little bit slow at breakfast.
