A weekend away with football. We arrived early to drop our bags knowing we were too early to check in. Eventually paid an extra £25 to get the room early. Food was good, bar area lovely and breakfast was first class.

The property was a convenient distance from Seaham and has onsite parking, though a bit tight on entry when busy. It has a relaxed atmosphere, staff friendly and laid back. Our room wasnt ready on arrival so we had an unexpected wait, but we just had a drink in the pleasant outside area whilst we waited. Rooms were separate from the pub/restaurant but also accessible via internal door. Food was average, portions on the small side, not the best value for money. Overall, a pleasant stay with all we needed for an overnight stop off.

I stay in the Seaton Lane Inn every other week for 2 or 3 night. It is a lovely hotel and the staff are friendly. I have however noticed on the last 2 visits that the standard of cleanliness in the bedrooms is slipping. I have been visiting for 4 years now and feel that at the moment the rooms are not being cleaned as well as they should be.

We booked this hotel due to the good reviews. Unfortunately our stay was not the best. We were put in a room which was on the dog friendly floor which we do not have a problem with. Our room smelled quite bad of wet dogs which was not very pleasant. Also the waste bin in the bathroom had not been emptied after the previous guests. We did mention this to reception when checking out and was told if we had mentioned it earlier we would have been moved to a non dog friendly room. Surely guests without dogs should fill up the rooms which don't accommodate dogs first and then if all them are full then use the dog friendly room. The full english breakfast was also not the best. All in all the whole experience wasn't as good as i thought it was going to be sorry.

I ordered a coffee, paid for it but had to ask again as staff member had forgot. The young guy serving breakfast was great Monday morning. Good customer service acknowledged you and guided how to order breakfast. The room was clean tidy and the bathroom the same. Both myself and my daughter found the beds confortable but the winter duvet too hot. I tried to lie on top of the duvet and got too cold. A summer weight duvet would make a big difference

Sadly the room was not pre heated, it was 2-3 degrees outside and it naturally took radiators 1.5 hours to get the room ready for guests

The outside of this hotel is deceptive. Inside it is spacious, well decorated and our room was large and excellent, very well equipped,although my partner did not appreciate the wet room! I showered and afterwards he walked in with his socks on! It was a bathroom set up for anyone with a disability. We had a small evening meal, having been out for Sunday lunch and then to a party, but it was very tasty. Breakfast was outstanding, with lots of choice. I can't fault the service. It is excellent value for money and we would definitely stay there again should we be in the area.

My room was not ready at 3pm though I was given the key card. The cleaning staff were embarrassed. I had room 1 which was an accessible room - not needed. The bathroom was a wet room with seat in shower area. No where to put toiletries in the bathroom as equipped for a disabled person. The room was very dark. Even with lights on it was very dark. Everything was just ok. I probably wouldn’t stay again but nothing to complain about. No more than 3 * and struggling a little for that.

Service in the dining room was appalling. 90 minutes between ordering and food being served. It was the same for everyone in the dining room. Obviously there was a problem but no-one bothered to tell the diners what it was or that they might have to wait for their food, or when it was likely to be ready. Dreadful. I think everyone in the dining room felt they were being treated with contempt since they were a captive audience with nowhere else to go.

Lovely cosy hotel, bedroom obviously newly refurbished and nice bathroom although couple of areas around shower need a bit of attention. We didn’t eat dinner but wish we had as the atmosphere is very warm and festive. Lovely manageress at breakfast. Breakfast food was hot and tasty.
