First of all, the breakfast was amazing. The check in staff was cheerful and friendly. Parking cost AUD 60! So we parked at the convention centre for AUD25, validated parking coupon from hotel. Fantastic hotel based in the heart of Adelaide. Great facilities and location to the CBD, fully enjoyed my trip with regards to early morning exercise and gym facilities, great walks along the river and close to the adelaide Convention Center based just next door.

Needs an urgent upgrade - tv options were 2 star, had to join netflix, stan, paramount just to get basic movie options. Main bar dirty with flint and hair all over the floor. Walls in the bedroom you could see dirt, and scuff marks. Blood stains at the entrance to the room on the carpet. Overall a disappointing experience. We have had better eperiences throughout asia for all of the above and didn't cost an arm and a leg.

We had an amazing stay at Intercontinental! From a glass of champagne whilst we waited to check in to a string quartet playing in the lobby, everything was amazing for our NYE stay. The room was clean, breakfast buffet was delicious and staff very friendly. Would highly recommend and will definitely stay here again!

Room cleaning is not up to standard, my room had a previous occupants dirty sock on the floor carpet & was in a clearly visible area where the room cleaning staff should have seen it while making the bed & vacuuming the carpet as it was on the floor close to the bed. Also bathroom in my room had numerous cracked & chipped floor tiles that were clearly visible & you could feel the chipped floor tiles while walking in the bathroom. As a frequent stayer during the AFL Season the rooms are dated now & in urgent need of a complete makeover with new carpet as well as new & better quality lounge chairs such as a leather lounge chairs in each room, carpet feels like it hasn’t been vacuumed since the previous occupants were in the room. Hotel is long overdue for a complete makeover for all their accommodation rooms as it appears no upgrades have been done since the hotel first opened back in the 1980s.

We had a junior suite which was very spacious very comfortable love this room only downside was the pillows. Breakfast was great lots of variety loved the juice making machine check in and check out was great walking distance to all transport close to the train close to the tram not far to Rundle Mall. This Intercon is much like other Intercons with beautifully-equipped rooms, big, impressive public spaces, great views, impressive breakfasts, and properly coordinated guest relations. BUT, how can a big hotel, and a not-so-cheap one like this sport wifi speeds of 0.54mbps downloads and 1.6mbps uploads? We were recently in Tuvalu in the middle of the Pacific Ocean and our little hotel offered speeds that were usable. However, the good news is that the Railway Station next door has free wifi so we could do our work in the departure hall. Perhaps this wifi desert is just on the upper floors, or just an aberration. And reception did say that speeds would improve “after 10 or 11pm”, presumably when fewer guests were on-line, and that’s probably true. We would suggest you check wifi speeds before checking in.

I haven’t experienced proper, old school hotel service like this for a long time. Everyone from the valet who took care of our car, to the bellhop who welcomed us, the check-in staff and the staff who delivered us our room service were extremely caring and professional. Breakfast was wonderful. The service here sparkles - I do recommend.

The experience at breakfast can be far better, with more choice for vegetarian and vegan dietary requirements. The lay out of breakfast is not great especially you have a stack of plates which are small plates these are for pancakes not breakfast I started adding to my plate to then realise these are too small, the actual plates are at the other side of the room next to the toaster and bread for some strange reason, I also went to order 2 x poached eggs from the chef at the egg /omlettee counter and he said I needed to order these with the person I checked in with for breakfast, I then had to wait sometime for the poached eggs to arrive before I could start getting my cooked breakfast plate together! Also the coffee was not very good and only a small cup when I asked for a large skinny latte I normally start the day with two coffees only had one! My second morning I found a nice cafe nearby for breakfast catered for Vegan and the coffee was far better!

Very nice hotel in an excellent location. Great staff and service. The only thing I didn’t like was the evening cafe/restaurant on the lobby level…strive could have been better. Breakfast was great. My only complaint is, and I haven’t contacted management about this yet, that a friend dropped off a sealed package for me at the concierge it was placed in my room and when I returned the package had been opened (though nothing was missing)…

We stayed the night we got married and was so surprised that when we got back to our room there was a bottle of sparkling wine left chilled on ice from the hotel. The room although dated was large, clean and had great views of the Torrens River. Its in the heart of the city, so close to everything. The breakfast was sufficient but the table wasn't cleared of dirty dishes and the staff didn't come around to see if we wanted further cups of coffee/tea. That was our only complaint. All in all a lovely stay.
