Great welcome. Manager/owner he was at the entrance to welcome us in as we got out the car and offered to carry bags which was lovely. Asked if we needed breakfast but we didnt as heading off early. Quirky rooms but all well decorated and tea/coffee, ironing board. Had air con and fan as a top floor hot room so good was there already. Only a one night stop over but would definitely recommend/ return in the future.

Lovely 300 year old Bed and Breakfast family run and really nice helpful hosts room was comfy and had stunning views of the river food was great and very well priced excellent value for money lots of parking and a warm homely feel with a slight modern touch. I will be recommending to others and would 100% stay again!!

Hosts Georgina & Steve were professional, helpful & friendly - top class. Food was superb with great variety, steak & ale pie was a must eat choice, full English breakfast was piping hot and a great setup for the day ahead. Room was comfortable with reliable WiFi. Parking was spacious. We had a great three night stay and look forward to returning.

Castle Lodge Hotel is an old building with lots of charm. The welcome was warm and the room was very clean and comfortable with the ensuite up a few (steep) steps inside the bedroom door. It is conveniently situated close to the the town of Ross on Wye and not far from the main road to South Wales. My evening meal and breakfast the following morning was tasty, well presented and excellent value. It is worth saying again that as this is a characterful building there are steep stairs and some uneven floors, which might provide a challenge for some, but I would happily stay there again.

Hotel was clean and comfortable, and the owners were helpful and courteous. We had dinner one evening and the burger was amazing, honestly one of the nicest burgers I have had. The hotel is a perfect location to explore the area, and we would book here again.

Miserable….. I have nor anyone else we met there was happy. The owner is miserable, huffs and puffs at everything. Food is burnt and dry. It’s like he’s given up on everything. We felt as if we had entered his home and just decided we were going to help ourselves and claimed squatters rights. He should close the doors and sell up and prehaps be happy. We could not wait to leave and we’re very grateful we only had one night. Another couple were cutting their losses and finding another place to stay as they felt so unwanted and unwelcome and uncomfortable.

This is a great hotel with friendly and efficient staff. The location is excellent, being a short walk from the wonderful river Wye but with no road noise to spoil your sleep.We had three nights here and will definitely visit again.

A lovely hotel conveniently situated beside the a40 but within easy walking distance to the centre of ross-on wye and the river wye. Our bed and breakfast rate was great value; the breakfast was amazing with a large selection of hot and cold food and our en-suite room was beautifully furnished and with everything we needed. our hosts were friendly and full of local knowledge. We felt like home from home.

We liked the property, it was well located for travellers. The owners made us very welcome. The food was of an excellent standard varied menu good value for money good portion size. We would well recommend.

Easy parking. Friendly service., a family run Hotel. Reasonable menu in restaurant. Ale selection limited. Main road a little noisy. maintenance appears to be done in house . No shower curtain and single room was warm despite cooler weather, but fan provided.

Hotel was clean and comfortable, and the owners were helpful and courteous. We had dinner one evening and the burger was amazing, honestly one of the nicest burgers I have had. The hotel is a perfect location to explore the area, and we would book here again.

Hosts Georgina & Steve were professional, helpful & friendly - top class. Food was superb with great variety, steak & ale pie was a must eat choice, full English breakfast was piping hot and a great setup for the day ahead. Room was comfortable with reliable WiFi. Parking was spacious. We had a great three night stay and look forward to returning.

Miserable….. I have nor anyone else we met there was happy. The owner is miserable, huffs and puffs at everything. Food is burnt and dry. It’s like he’s given up on everything. We felt as if we had entered his home and just decided we were going to help ourselves and claimed squatters rights. He should close the doors and sell up and prehaps be happy. We could not wait to leave and we’re very grateful we only had one night. Another couple were cutting their losses and finding another place to stay as they felt so unwanted and unwelcome and uncomfortable.

Fantastic place to stay. I was a solo traveller and this place was perfect for me! A lovely family feel to the hotel. I would 100% recommend and will be looking to stay again next time im in the area. Big thanks to the staff who looked after me for the night
