Really friendly staff. Very dog friendly. I am originally from area and it's like coming back home from home. Reception was lovely when checking in. Staff at bar made a fuss of our dog. Lovely. We will see you all soon

Nice hotel, with comfortable room and plenty of car parking. Great food for both dinner and breakfast.

For the price we were very happy with our stay! Of course, some areas of the room were a little tired, but everything was clean and organised. The parking (round the back of the hotel) was free with plenty of spaces. Our room had a tv and a radio which was a nice touch, and the bed was comfortable enough for a short stay. We’ll be sure to use this hotel again on future family visits!

I travel a lot for work and don’t normally like chain hotels but this one is an exception to the rule. Decorated beautifully and in keeping with the building. Very cosy, clean and comfortable rooms with lovely natural toiletries (which are also available to purchase). The DAB radio was a really nice touch as I don’t really watch TV. The bed was extremely comfortable and the rooms were quiet. The food was exceptional! Very high quality and made with fresh local produce. Breakfast was also amazing and the coffee was delicious and fresh. The staff were very welcoming, chatty and helpful. I really cannot fault this hotel. The only slight inconvenience was trying to find the parking as it wasn’t sign posted very well.

Check-in was quick and easy, room was clean and tidy, although one of the towels was very dirty, it was changed. Restaurant was pleasant, food was ok, drinks expensive, £6.50 for a pint of bitter. Didn’t realise the windows were open, so at 04.30 the trucks thunder pass and at that time of the morning, i couldn't see how to shut them. Its a pleasant place with friendly staff

It was conveniently situated for shopping and visiting places like Louth and Mablethorpe. Good parking. Rooms were very nice and facilities very good

The Hotel was great for a couple of nights stay to explore the areas surrounding Horncastle. The room was very clean, and well presented, there was tea and coffee making facilities in the room, you can order room service if you wish, or eat in the restaurant area down by the lobby. The building is quite an old building, so some of the floors are a bit creaky, something to consider if that sort of thing bothers you. The car park is a great addition as many other hotels around do not offer parking, and on-street parking is rare. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I stated in a single room, which was perfect, had a small double bed which was nice, and a good amount of space on the room to move around and a large wardrobe space, the room also had a hairdryer, iron and ironing board, and a fan.

Drains smelt awful woke us up about 2am and couldn’t sleep - had to open window - and the traffic noise was terrible too then. Told reception and they said room has been used all weekend and no one else has complained. The sink in bathroom would not drain water

Lovely hotel, we stayed as part of a wedding party. The only fault i could find was the smell from the main toilets on the ground floor (not sure if they had a problem with them) everywhere else was beautifully clean, staff were excellent and friendly. Would recommend!

The room condition was poor, we had a problem with the heater , which was resolved very quickly and professionally by the hotel maintenance representative, Simon thank you for your help . The condition of the room is disappointing, the shower curtain smells and has black mould on it !! The room was tired and in need of an update and deep clean . Room 205 has very thin walls and we were able to hear snoring from the room next door all night and were generally very surprised that the quality of the hotel is not what we had hoped for, we will look for alternative accommodation next time we are in the area .

The hotel is very expensive for what you get. We paid £158 for a classic double and breakfast. The room is small but ok. It was extremely hot, not the hotels fault obviously, but they only had a very small fan in the room and water is not provided. When we queried if we could have some water and a larger or second fan we were told water was not available unless we were happy to pay and there were no other fans available. The fan we had made a loud clicking noise all throughout the night. The room and bathroom are slightly tired and could do with some care. One of our windows was painted shut and the other when opened was full of dust and cobwebs behind the safety glass. The walls and door around the bathroom had lots of marks on it. There is also a rubber duck in the bathroom but it is full of mould and should be either cleaned or removed. The dressing table at one side of the bed was also covered in beads - looked like the previous occupants had broken a bracelet and it had not been cleaned. On checking out when asked about our stay mentioned again the water and facilities as can see Expedia list free bottled water as a ‘perk’. Receptionist said it is company policy that water is only Deluxe rooms and Expedia is wrong! Considering this is a classed as 4 star it’s all just a bit cheap! The breakfast was lovely and the waitress was on her own for the full time we were there and did an amazing job at managing all the tables- thank you to her.

I liked the comfortable room on entering. The room itself was comfortable and a nice touch to have a Roberts radio playing Classic fm. What I did not like was having to pay for my 2 night stay the minute I went to check in. I have never done that before. Usually payment is taken at checkout. Bathroom in room ha a very noisy shower in so far as the pipes screamed when showering. Not relaxing at all. Also there was black mould around the widow frames in the bedroom. Food was not bad apart from a scallop starter which was well over priced and not that good. Staff were very friendly. Seems it is almost there and with a bit of attention to detail should be better.

My husband and I have just stayed for 2 nights in this hotel. What can i say about this hotel other than it is fabulous. Staff are very friendly, our room was very clean. We stayed in room 200 which is called The Flagship Suite. It was amazing, very welcoming from the radio playing in the background to a cool air from a fan. The bathroom is large as is the bath. We ate in the restaurant and was very happy with our choice of food, it was cooked to perfection. Lovely seating area inside or outside if you just wanted to sit and watch the world go by. The only downside of this break was it went to quickly. We shall certainly look forward to returning for another stay.

TV channel selection horrible. Sound proofing needed desperately. Could hear multiples tvs until 1 am. Should not be able to hear the people in the next room snoring and talking.

Nice hotel with free parking which is always a bonus. We enjoyed the hot drink facilities provided in the room. The reason for the 4 stars is due to the noise of the very squeaky floorboards above us which woke us up early in the morning - it was so consistent that we couldn’t get back to sleep which is a real shame as it put a bit of a dampener on our stay. Would potentially stay again if visiting the area.

The staff were very nice and accommodating. We had to move rooms as the weather temperature was high and the rooms were very hot. Trouble sleeping.

Wonderful hotel in a central location. Plenty of free carparking, really nice room and a great restaurant area. I stay in loads of hotels with work and the staff here are absolutely fantastic. Check in staff, restaurant staff and checking out staff are amazing. Top hotel!

We upgraded to deluxe room as these are much nicer than the basic ones from previous visits - room was lovely bed not comfortable and the service was terrible - 20 mins to stand at bar to get drinks - tables were not cleared and dinner came out with 5 mins gap between the other people coming out - food was nice and reasonable priced but drink overpriced.

Staff were friendly but some need training and supervision. I don't expect my wine to be brought to my table with the words 'Ere's your drink', or my steak to smell and taste of curry; someone in the kitchen is using the same utensils to prepare or plate different dishes.

Couldn’t get a table for dinner. Had to eat from a low table in reception. We could see the dining room and there were empty tables all night. Not very successful. Not what you need after a six hour journey. Think there was problems in the kitchen. We could not get an answer from reception as we couldn’t find the car park. Had to ask a local.

Room was lovely and comfortable and well stocked with teas/coffee/biscuits etc. Reception staff were lovely and very helpful. My only complaint was the time you had to wait to be served if you went for a drink in the bar or to order food.

I would have given 5 stars for our visit but we had a bit of hassle over our meal on Friday. An offer of fish and chips plus free drink was advertised but the receptionist was unaware - asked us to come back when she’d looked into it. Second receptionist an hour later was aware of offer and made our booking. However the waiting staff had no idea about it, nor did the person who made up our bill. The staff all tried to be helpful but this wasn’t a great experience. Management - make sure your staff receive adequate training!!!!

The team at the Admiral Rodney in Horncastle are a professional and welcoming crew. We had an amazing stay as part of our 'mini-moon' and were treated with wonderful care and consideration. The hotel room was lovely, clean, spacious. Could not fault this hotel and we will return for our first wedding anniversary next year. Special applaud goes to Emily and to Viktoria; amazing team leaders. If you are hesitating about booking here, don't. ps - the food is amazing too and decently priced for the high quality.

Ideal for visiting Horncastle and also Cadwell Park.

This is a lovely old hotel which has been carefully modernised .It is in a great location in Horncastle's town centre close to the market . lots of antique shops and some good restaurants . Food in the hotel was great for both breakfast and dinner , and both food and drinks were reasonably priced . This part of Lincolnshire is well worth exploring and The Admiral Rodney Hotel makes an excellent base to do so .

Great location, facilites and a very comfortable room

I went with my husband for a 2 night stay to be close to a specific airfield. The position was excellent for this trip. The reason for the lower score for service was due to the way we were completely ignored when we first arrived to check in.Both the members of staff never looked up to acknowledge us and carried on doing what they were doing. After this encounter, all other interactions were good. All the other members of staff were delightful and very helpful.. Our room was lovely and clean and the bathroom was beautiful. Our evening meal was very well presented and tasty, and the breakfasts had good choices of cooked food with a well presented cold buffet. Parking was secure and easy to find and access. We would certainly stay here again.

Great location in middle of town. Free parking and plenty of it. Great bar area though they were understaffed but the staff were all very friendly . Lovely clesn room with very nice toiletries. Had meal at night which was excellent and the breakfast next morning had lots of choice and was excellent

Generous room size, food excelent, staff very good, interesting town. Very good car parking facilities. The only downside was very expensive bar prices.

Charming hotel, nice little bar area, fantastic food

An absolutely outstanding stay from start to finish everything was exceptional - check in quick and pleasant rooms perfect temperature well stocked biscuits coffees toiletries shower amazing and copious amounts of hot water 🚿 Food has to be tried to experience how good it is - staff are always on hand friendly polite and lovely. Breakfast choice is again great- loved every minute I stayed !
