Staff was friendly at the hotel. We stayed for 2 nights. They offered us valet parking for $50/night. with additional $5 for EV charging. We only needed charging for 1 night but they charged us for 2. Abit of a mixed up on their end. The room was nice and spacious, rain shower was great but too bad there is not tub, and there is no pool/hot tub at the hotel. If they didnt have pool or hot tub, they should have at least a soaker tub for all room and not only the premium rooms. The pillows was flat on the bed, it wasnt great, felt like i was sleeping with no pillow. but overall it was a good central stay and easy to alot of areas and alot of close by restaurants.

The staff was professional and very accommodating to any requests we had. The room was spacious, clean and exceeded our expectations. We attended the spa for a couples massage and the staff was wonderful and we enjoyed the sitting on the outdoor patio afterwards while enjoying a snack and refreshment. Then we each used the infrared saunas in the change rooms. The valet staff were friendly and the one gentleman was quite entertaining to talk with while he helped us with our luggage! We ordered room service for breakfast and it was promptly delivered and delicious. Overall our stay was a great experience.

Very nice hotel in a great area of downtown Calgary. The signature room is quite large, clean and very modern. The only downside is parking. The valet parking is a but steep @$50 CAD/day.

The room was very good. However, the parking situation was chaos due to the construction around the hotel. We chose to use valet parking at an exorbitant price of $50 a night, as we were exhausted after a 10 hour flight and the last thing we needed was to try to deal with parking our car. Normally we would park our own car in the underground parking.

Ended our Canadian Rockies vacation in Calgary for one night at Germain. Loved the modern vibe but noticed mold in the shower and the wood slat blinds did little to keep light out of the room. Location was A+ though!

Always enjoy my stay at the Germain, but the cleaning staff needs to do better at cleaning under furniture. When my wife was looking for her earring she dropped she found a personal toy someone had left behind. Had a good laugh, but was a bit put off by the lack of thorough cleaning.

Immaculate rooms and slick design proved why Le Germain touts “unmatched comfort and meticulous detail”, yet several service missteps dulled the shine of Hotel Le Germain. Check-in at reception felt oddly judgmental while I resolved a fraud-flagged credit card (which happened due to it being $1300 & my first charge of the trip with my fiancée), it was embarassing and an experience that contrasts sharply with the hotel's guest-first ethos. Some doormen were gracious, but others ignored or missed us—even at departure—which left a last, disappointing impression since he was looking right at us and failed to open the door for us on check-out. To be clear, they weren't busy with valet. The area was loud, dusty and construction-heavy, and 7am jack-hammer wake-ups after late nights out with my fiancée meant we slept far less than desired and needlessly had to deal with being tired before our roadtrip to Banff.. which made driving more of a chore and relatively unsafe in comparison to if we had gotten proper sleep. On the plus side, initial room cleanliness and daily cleaning was Japan-level pristine, and the room itself was flawless. ----- Lastly, to the respective Hotel Le Germain Management: For me, the external noise and uneven service undercut the premium rate in my humble opinion, so a partial refund or equivalent goodwill gesture would be a fair resolution for me. Prior notice of heavy construction in the area would've been the true & honest thing to be made aware of.

Room was clean and the king bed was very comfortable. The large desk was great for setting up as a workspace, and the room had a very unique darker aesthetic. Bathroom was surprisingly large for a hotel room and had a waterfall shower. Room service via Charcut was prompt and excellent. At time of stay (August 2025) there was a lot of road construction nearby that had some sidewalks closed, but it was only a minor inconvenience (and wasn't overly noisy) that was outside of the hotel's control. Having the ability to plug in your own devices to TV from the desk, as well as access to a chromecast is great (otherwise the tv's have a okay selection of channels but no native video-on-demand services). In house rnr wellness spa was also very nice and was able to get a much needed therapeutic massage during my stay.

We just spent a week in a five star resort in Banff Park. We had a one night layover in Calgary and booked the Le Germain. The room was much bigger, newer, and much better appointed. My wife and I agreed it was the best designed hotel room we’ve ever stayed in. The location, around the corner from a pedestrian mall street was great with bars and shops. The restaurant on the property was excellent.

My husband and I chose this hotel for its proximity to the Calgary Tower, so the location was excellent. We arrived on Saturday and parked, overnight, across the street in the Calgary Tower parkade … the weekend parking rate was considerably less than hotel parking and was very secure - it’s an indoor walk from the parkade right to street level. Cross one crosswalk and you’re at the hotel. There were plenty of restaurants close by as well. Everything at the hotel was fantastic…. From the front desk check-in to the front desk check out - front desk staff were extremely friendly and efficient!!!! The hotel and our room were exceptionally clean. The room was beautiful and we found the floor plan to be very practical! The king size bed and pillows were super-comfortable. There was a walk-in glass enclosed shower with a rain showerhead as well as an individual, handheld showerhead … and there was a separate, private toilet area. Two, very comfortable, bathrobes were also provided. We were there for a single (Saturday) night stay. For those staying for a longer period of time … there was (beyond) ample space in the bathroom for your personal items. There was a walk-in closet with drawers and hangers for your wardrobe, room to store your luggage and an umbrella was included in the closet.. We would definitely recommend this hotel. It’s great for couples - it’s family friendly - and great for those working in the downtown sector.

The room was in good condition. The modern layout was smartly done. The hallways and room felt a bit dark. Could not lift the half folding blind behind the Venetian blinds. The purple sofa should face the window for a view not be flat parallel with the bed wall. The room had no venting windows for natural air. The room air flow felt stilted until the fan was turned on but it was deafening in volume. A happy medium would be appreciated. The hotel was not full. A complimentary upgrade to a higher floor for those visiting Cagney for the first time would be welcome. The staff was courteous and helpful except for the man at the front desk who delivered a trolly to the room for exiting and ran away. Pls pay special attention to seniors.

Surface level posh but lacks attention to the details. Considering location it’s fine for the price they charge. It has a veneer that feels like it desperately wants to be a swanky hotel in Asia but is run by North American corporate cheapness. Dim lighting abounds and the polish just isn’t really up to snuff. We booked a queen but the mattress was a double (we measured), and when we told the front desk they just said they can’t upgrade us to a king and then cast doubt on the standardized measurements we were referencing. The staff eventually apologized when we were checking out. The room had lots of cheap plastic switches (lights, toilet flush) that didn’t quite work smoothly and the bathroom doors were all loose. There was a non-functional laptop dock built into the desk and a mysterious Chromecast hiding half-disconnected behind the tv. The eye-wateringly expensive mini bar was stocked to the point that there was no fridge space for anything else. The bed was uncomfortably hard and, as previously mentioned, undersized. The shower plumbing was just loose enough to spray some extra water around while using the hand wand. And for some reason the outlet in the ironing cupboard was behind what seemed like a loosely hinged piece of spare lumber that juts outward a good foot when it’s in use. Overall we probably wouldn’t stay here again.

Excellent stay with way above average design and amenities. I liked the storage at the entry - felt homey and like we could have settled in for ages. I loved them offering to bring us ice when we called about ice machines. Great service. The only strange thing was there weren’t true blackout blinds in the room just wooden blinds.

At check in the room was not ready but they held our bags. When we came back they sent us to the wrong room. When I called down to the desk to have the room corrected they did not understand and it was frustrating to explain something so simple. I booked 2 queens and they gave me a king. I was told I could keep the king room it was "nicer", but I did not want that room so I had to push for them to give me what I booked. The night time staff at the front desk was rude when we came back in our uber.

My husband and I chose this hotel for its proximity to the Calgary Tower, so the location was excellent. We arrived on Saturday and parked, overnight, across the street in the Calgary Tower parkade … the weekend parking rate was considerably less than hotel parking and was very secure - it’s an indoor walk from the parkade right to street level. Cross one crosswalk and you’re at the hotel. There were plenty of restaurants close by as well. Everything at the hotel was fantastic…. From the front desk check-in to the front desk check out - front desk staff were extremely friendly and efficient!!!! The hotel and our room were exceptionally clean. The room was beautiful and we found the floor plan to be very practical! The king size bed and pillows were super-comfortable. There was a walk-in glass enclosed shower with a rain showerhead as well as an individual, handheld showerhead … and there was a separate, private toilet area. Two, very comfortable, bathrobes were also provided. We were there for a single (Saturday) night stay. For those staying for a longer period of time … there was (beyond) ample space in the bathroom for your personal items. There was a walk-in closet with drawers and hangers for your wardrobe, room to store your luggage and an umbrella was included in the closet.. We would definitely recommend this hotel. It’s great for couples - it’s family friendly - and great for those working in the downtown sector.

If you have darker skin the front desk staff will stop you and ask for identification before going to your room. They won’t stop rich white people. I was treated very poorly and the hotel refused to comment or take responsibility for discrimination. Police are involved.

Immaculate rooms and slick design proved why Le Germain touts “unmatched comfort and meticulous detail”, yet several service missteps dulled the shine of Hotel Le Germain. Check-in at reception felt oddly judgmental while I resolved a fraud-flagged credit card (which happened due to it being $1300 & my first charge of the trip with my fiancée), it was embarassing and an experience that contrasts sharply with the hotel's guest-first ethos. Some doormen were gracious, but others ignored or missed us—even at departure—which left a last, disappointing impression since he was looking right at us and failed to open the door for us on check-out. To be clear, they weren't busy with valet. The area was loud, dusty and construction-heavy, and 7am jack-hammer wake-ups after late nights out with my fiancée meant we slept far less than desired and needlessly had to deal with being tired before our roadtrip to Banff.. which made driving more of a chore and relatively unsafe in comparison to if we had gotten proper sleep. On the plus side, initial room cleanliness and daily cleaning was Japan-level pristine, and the room itself was flawless. ----- Lastly, to the respective Hotel Le Germain Management: For me, the external noise and uneven service undercut the premium rate in my humble opinion, so a partial refund or equivalent goodwill gesture would be a fair resolution for me. Prior notice of heavy construction in the area would've been the true & honest thing to be made aware of.

It's not very quiet at night, but it's understandable because it's in the city center, and they prepared earplugs thoughtfully. The decoration of the room is very stylish, with complete functions, even an iron. The receptionist at the front desk is very warm and excellent, and the room service is also very fast. The location is very good, Calgary Tower is across the road. There are parking spaces under the Calgary Tower, we parked there overnight for $16. In a word, it is a very good hotel.

Our stay here was short but great! The staff is amazing, and the rooms were clean. We would visit again. We did find it difficult to get into the hotel parking lot, it is a bit tricky to see off the road. The bar was closed very early , however they did recommend another place to visit. The food and drinks were excellent.

We just spent a week in a five star resort in Banff Park. We had a one night layover in Calgary and booked the Le Germain. The room was much bigger, newer, and much better appointed. My wife and I agreed it was the best designed hotel room we’ve ever stayed in. The location, around the corner from a pedestrian mall street was great with bars and shops. The restaurant on the property was excellent.

For how fancy the hotel is and the price of the room, you'd think the pillows would be a bit better than the average holiday inn but instead they were completely flat and not in the slightest bit comfortable. Felt like I was sleeping without a pillow. The restaurant that is attached to the hotel was garbage as well. We wanted to try it as their sister restaurant, Charbar, was incredible but was quite disappointed with Charcut.
