Stayed here on many occasions. The rooms are a great size and good bathrooms. Staff as always, courteous, helpful and very friendly. Unfortunately there are a couple of new policies I am not totally enamoured with - it is hardly room service if you have to go down to order and pay for it - I understand their rationale behind this new policy (no room credit), but it's not what you expect from a 4* hotel. Change of menu in bar area to pizza/tapas only is a bold move ?! Overall though, still a lovely place to stay and the spa and pool are an added bonus.

Beautiful and spacious room, decor on point and really lovely. The rest of the hotel is in need of a bit of updating, with some wallpaper missing from the wall, scuffs here and there etc. The spa has the potential to be really nice. The pool is great but the sauna was out of service (I understand from another guest that this had been the case for at least a couple of weeks) and the steam room had no steam! The jacuzzi was borderline cool… can’t comment on the spa treatments as I didn’t have any. The restaurant was great - had dinner one night which was superb. The breakfast was slightly limited but very tasty.

Fabulous modernised hotel just south of St Austell so a great base to explore south west Cornwall. Rooms were large, modern & clean and comfortable with a decent balcony overlooking the grounds. Access could be an issue for some as the lifts don’t go all the way to the rooms with more steps afterwards. But that didn’t detract for us. The spa was very good with a large pool, in its own grounds as well as sauna etc. We’d definitely go back.

Nice room and very clean. Breakfast was good, with a selection of hot and cold items. Would certainly recommend. Only negative point is the car park, potholes everywhere in the main parking area and very muddy.

Nice room with a lovely view but the hotel general areas seemed a little dated. Staff were polite and food was great but book the restaurant as it does get busy. Pool and gym were wonderful too !

Lovely hotel, lovely staff. Car parkin is more limited than you'd expect, with car park 1 little better than a muddy and deep pot-hole strewn after thought for those of us who had no choice but to Pak there. Not sure how I'm going o get it out the car mats. Salt & pepper squid on the bar menu is very good.

Just returned from a lovely 3 night stay with my wife at The Cornwall Hotel & Spa. Staff are all very friendly, rooms are very comfortable, as was the general look and feel of the bar and restaurant. Unfortunately the pool was closed for most of our stay so we couldn't try that. Service at meal times was a little on the slow side, and when you looked closely at a lot of the surfaces, a good dusting might not go a miss. The main issue for us that the staff simply couldn't do anything about was that the lift only takes you up to the 1st floor (well, technically the 2nd floor but there's only about 2 feet between the 1st and 2nd floors). We then had to climb 3 flights of stairs with a heavy suitcase and bags. My wife has poor mobility too so she found this a particular inconvenience. I'm not sure whether there are actually any rooms on the level that the lift goes up to, so presumably stairs will have to be negotiated to some degree by everyone who stays here. Definitely something to consider as I don't recall seeing anything on the website when I made the booking.

Beautiful hotel with stunning views. Friendly staff and gorgeous food. Only thing to note is the cleanliness of the spa: used plasters, clogs of hair and lots of dust surrounding the whole swimming pool and where the infinity part of the pool is.

The estate is beautiful but there needs to be more attention to detail when it comes to the rooms. Mine was dirty and didn’t look like it had been hoovered. When I found a rusty paper clip and some men’s boxer shorts I asked to be moved. The next room was slightly better but still not clean. Brown line round the plug holes that just wiped off-cobwebs and spiders webs in corners-my coffee mug had not been washed as it had lip marks round the rim. The balcony was neglected and dirty-not acceptable for mid season at a high cost hotel.

I booked superior room with queen bed for my husband’s 70th birthday. I am not one to complain but room was dusty (high and low areas ) and big stain on carpet (see photos). Long-life milk for tea and coffee was 1 month out of date, (yes this was rectified with fresh milk in a jug of milk instead of long-life sachets Food was nice But was let down by the cleanliness of the room’s also attention to detail lighting with bulbs not working and other little bits and pieces. Lockers in the spa facilities did not work very well as had to ask staff to open my locker after swimming

Staff were always polite and courteous. Most rooms need to be reached via staircases. The lift (when it works) only takes you part of the way. Room cleanliness was ok but definitely let the hotel down. Bed sheets were not changed despite blood from a nosebleed being on the pillowcase. There was clearly a celebration in the room we had prior to our stay as we kept finding petals, surely the cleaners would have found these each time they cleaned the room!

We had an enjoyable stay at tbe hotel and had a fabulous breakfast. The room was tidy however we found a capsule of some sort of medication under the bed and the fire alarm went off in tbe morning and noone came t9 check or inform us of a test.

Lovely room, very clean & comfortable. Beautiful surroundings. Would recommend the spa. Very relaxed atmosphere and very good value for money. We only had breakfast once during our stay but there was plenty of choice and the hot buffet was fresh. We have stayed before and would definitely return.

It’s a lovely place set in a park area with views from room balcony. Restaurant had good menu & food but unfortunately had run out of Chardonnay. Very nice staff. The biggest drawback for me was the bathroom set up with extremely small sink with no space to set anything and the high sided tub/shower was very difficult to get in and out with no handle bars to assist (& it was very slick when wet.)

We had another lovely stay at the Cornwall Hotel. Staff always warm and welcoming, spacious room, fresh gowns, well stocked refreshments tray. The spa area is always clean, good quality soaps, shampoos etc. Breakfast was plentiful and both continental and hot breakfasts were delicious. I love the little baskets of fresh towels and refreshments that are left outside your door if you don't want to be disturbed. The only negative for us is the lack of television channels and apps. We like to chill in our room with a movie but cannot access Netflix etc.

Didn’t have the wow factor with outlook of room. Breakfast was a bit hot and miss. Food wasn’t replenished well nor the plates etc so had to ask for most things rather than them being at hand. The room albeit too floor so quieter in a generally quiet resort was near to the kitchen. Extractor fan so noise and smells and overlooked service yard

Had to book quickly while at work, the premium room has a shower, bath, and sink in the bedroom. The bedroom fills with steam and gets soaking wet when you have a shower or bath. Makes it very uncomfortable to sleep in. It was very clean, but having wash facilities in the bedroom is without a doubt the worst idea.

It it a good location for local attractions being 10/15 mins away for most including beaches. We adventured away from the hotel for dining just to experience different things. Very good restaurant options around close by! A little more attention to detail with cleaning, the toilet holder was dusty, there where lots of glassware piling up in the corridor bay windows. Lightning in the room needs improvement as there was nothing near the mirror. The TV in the room is a little bigger than my computer monitor, so small when trying to watch the Euros!

Wonderful location, beautiful surroundings. Excellent food, lovely rooms. The check in & check out were very underwhelming and let the experience down, which was a shame. On check in, very little information was given other than where the room was, we had to find out the information ourselves (where to park, how to get to the spa, where the lounges were) We had a a fantastic stay and on check out, weren’t even asked how our stay had been!!! (our feedback would have been very complimentary if they had bothered to ask)

Have to give Jessica on reception a good review here. It was busy on reception and she said she would send me an email with a breakdown on for me. I thought this won’t happen. An hour later she did what she said and followed it up with a pleasant email. I will be back in April as had a great experience

Beautiful location, lovely lodge. Staff great but information is not provided at check in. Told to download an app but info contained within it is vague, some is out of date such as New Years. Told we would need to book meals in the restaurant using the app. Booked dinner reservation ( food is amazing and Emma our waitress was superb ) but couldn’t book breakfast so went back to reception to enquire about it.Reception advised children eat breakfast free and you don’t need to book just turn up before 10am. Brilliant we thought - except when we got to breakfast before we could even pour a coffee a bill was placed on our table. Never had a bill before a meal in a hotel before and we weren’t in Nando’s but I thought ok I will pay it now then eat,Upon reading it we had been each adult and charged for children. I quietly advised a waitress that we were told kids eat breakfast free. She said she would get the bill amended- instead a couple of minutes later a woman came out shouting in front of other guests that we must pre-book to have kids eat free and if we did pre book then adults would pay less too. I politely told her nothing was explained but she simply would not have any of it and continued to cause a scene. Reluctantly she took the children’s charges off but wouldn’t reduce the adult charges. My wife told me she will deal with it quietly after we had left restaurant area as our children were visibly shaken. Breakfast times ruined a lovely holiday.

I have stayed numerous times, first visit this year. Rooms are looking tired but clean. Two hour wait for evening dinner on each night. Sorry but I don’t want to eat at 8.30pm. Drinks from the bar, first night £14.50 second evening £16.50 for the same drink! Unable to put food or drinks on room anymore, so had to return to my room to collect means of payment. Front desk, no staff member on duty waited over 15 minutes for someone to appear so I could check in. I checked out a day early. Lots of changes and not enough staff. Spa was lovely as were the staff. Very short staffed.

Girls on the front desk were lovely, helpful and welcoming. Clean, fresh rooms, duvet was a bit too warm for me personally and one of the pillows was like a rock but other than that a good comfy sleep. Gym was ok but couple of machines a bit temperamental, pool and facilities nice. The food was excellent both at breakfast and dinner, it’s just a bit let down by the service. Waiting to be hosted in and sat down always took far too long especially in the evenings, the lad behind the bar forgot my drink completely and then forgot to apologise, he then forgot someone else’s. My main course took almost an hour to arrive as they hadn’t noticed I’d finished my starter. The staff were all nice enough, they could just do with being more attentive in the restaurant and bar area. Car park 1 needs addressing as a priority, no one wants to walk through mud and puddles to get to/from their car.

Beautiful rooms and hotel overall. Seemed very understaffed which led to a worne out yet business like/ brisk attitude of reception staff. They did not demonstrait any interest in me our my stay.....just delivered information without a smile or friendly service both at arrival or departure. Wait staff were very obviously run off their feet....took 45 mins to get 1st course.. and the staff kept having to apologise for delays both at lunch and again at dinner and unavailabilityof items on menu.Kitchen needs an upgrade of staff......i was served a ' green curry' which clearly had food colouring added!!!!???? And menue seemed very boring ....especially when reflected on the choices of local fish etc we got offered in next 2 hotels. Only a lift to one floor and then 2 sets of stairs to negotiate.....which at 66 yrs old and with mobility issues was difficult.....perhaps improve the lifts to all floors or have a concierge available. Time to ask why staff so unhappy in their jobs!!! I would return and recommend to both overseas and local family and friends, if these improvements were evident, as rooms were luxurious and wonderful beds and pillows which are so important for longhaul overseas travellers. .

A convenient overnight to attend a wedding. Staff were super helpful with an early check in to enable us to drop bags and change clothes before the service. Nice and quiet .. a sound sleep! Didnt book breakfast so unable to comment on this.

After a small problem with our first room on a 2 night stay the friendly, helpful staff sorted it out straight away. Our second night was a lovely comfortable room and we enjoyed a delicious breakfast both mornings and excellent food and drinks on the second night. Excellent location for the Eden project.

Our overall experience was good if staying in the hotel and our dining experience in their restaurant was also brilliant. However, the only thing that could be improved is the car parking facilities as there is not a lot of space and there is no proper lighting at night which makes it unsafe to get back into the hotel.

Mixed feelings with the hotel, travelled when it was the beginning of storm ciaran, it was raining, their top car park was full, drove to their main car park 1, the steps to the hotel, lights were off making the trip hazardous, had to use mobile phone light not particularly bright and difficult with carrying luggage and laptop. Hotel modern and functional, staff friendly but no atmosphere, just seemed disconnected!

Brilliant customer service, staff all helpful and very upbeat. The hotel is wonderful, absolutely spotless and well decorated. Our bedroom was cosy and very clean, really good nights sleep. We ate in the bar , our meal was delicious, came quickly and served with a smile. Breakfast gave a massive choice of both hot and cold. We will definitely be returning.😃

Great location for exploring the local area. Breakfast super tasty but service for breakfast can be chaotic at times with many breakfast choices running out with gaps in replenishment. Evenings at the hotel are very quiet and the main bar area there was no ambience at all.

The hotel was nice and staff friendly. The spa and pool were great and would definitely re-book just for that. I was very disappointed in the food menu and the vegetarian dish in particular was bland and lacked substance. It was definitely not worth what they charged for it. I would not choose to eat there again.

The menu in the bar area was limited to Tapas or Pizza. However, after a little discussion with the bar staff, they provide us with the main restaurant menu and had the food we chose served to us in the bar. This was an excellent compromise and fantastic customer service
