The Red Lion

We have just come home from staying two days at the Red Lion, super friendly staff, good food and comfortable rooms, entertainment was good on Sunday night. we will book there again when we go to Badminton Horse Trials next year.

Very good standard of room, well located in this pretty village. Food good at pub and nice outlook from bedroom windows.

Warm welcome, friendly staff. Lovely room and really peaceful. Great atmosphere on the evening and the breakfast was fabulous. Would recommend booking a table on the evening as really busy. Great stay and would definitely recommend.

Such a magical place to stay for the nearby town. All of the Harry Potter filming locations were awesome to see and the town was so chill. There was something very D&D about checking in with the bar keep to get a room at the Inn above the pub. We absolutely loved staying here, and everyone was extremely kind.

An awesome place to stay in an authentic old English village. Close to so much history and culture. The Inn has great food and beer and the staff are super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend it and Lacock.

The staff at the Red Lion are awesome. The food in the pub is excellent and the setting is perfect. We loved spending time in the covered beer garden and the only downside (which we were aware of when we booked) is that they only have double beds. I cannot speak highly enough about how the staff treated us during our stay and it was nice to be able to finally visit the abbey. And I don’t know if it was mentioned when we booked but breakfast was included and was delicious!

The Red Lion is a property steeped in history and it is hard to create modern standards in such an old building. That being said, everything was clean and tidy and the service was excellent. We would not hesitate to stay again and would recommend it to friends

Convenient in village, quiet and clean, friendly.

Lovely location in a Countryside location.Very friendly staff with attentive service. Only a couple of observations. Poor water supply to shower and this area needed to have some mould removed in the cubicle. I just wish I’d taken my doggies with me.

A convenient location to stay and see Lacock. We have stayed at the Red Lion before and enjoyed the food. All is OK but maybe it's time for a refresh of the rooms particularly the shower/bathrooms.

When we arrived, the staff wasn't very welcoming and we felt uncomfortable. However, they did take our heavy packs since we were early, so we could explore this quaint village. When we returned to the small pub below our room, they didn't know who we were. There are 5 rooms total! I don't think anyone else was staying there. Our room was decorated well, but the carpet wasn't clean. It is clear that dogs are allowed, and follow-up cleaning after their stay isn't done well. My allergies were killing me. The TV wasn't working and is ancient. The manager fixed the fuse issue. The bathroom was updated and modern. The tiles in the shower need to be deep-cleaned. The mattress wasn't great, so if you have back problems like me, it will be a challenge. The owner convinced us to have dinner in the pub, but when we went down, they asked if we had reservations. We were seated, but the manager came over and said they had a large party coming in, so we would have to wait a while to order. It was frustrating. My son's macaroni and cheese was amazing. My vegan Sunday roast was average with too much gravy, and I had a sick stomach all night. I didn't expect too much from a small country pub and inn, but despite the setbacks, we enjoyed Lacock and the Inn overall. The owner told us how to find the Harry Potter filming sites in the morning, but we had researched them the day before and had already done that. It would have been helpful on check-in. There were many films and TV shows filmed here.

An excellent stay, lovely room, great food, considerate staff, all in a a quintessential English village.

Lovely, perfect, comfortable, refreshing, wonderful....except, room 1 is over the kitchen, so you hear and feel the kitchen extractor fan that gets switched off about 23:00 and on again at 07:30. Lovely breakfast too. Excellent fruit platter. Every meal was excellent there.

Beautiful stay in Lacock. We love this particular hotel, the staff are excellent. Good quality food with a selection also of various cakes and afternoon teas on offer. We will definitely rebook whenever we are in the area.
