Excellent hospitality. Centrally located in heart of downtown, lots to see and do within a 30 minute walk in any direction. Clean, safe, quiet. Just be aware that most guests must share a minimally equipped and partially functioning bathroom (toilet/shower). Also rooms are spartan (no fridge, TV, safe box, etc). But if you just need a room to crash for a couple nights in the best part of town, worthy of consideration.

This affordable hotel is super conveniently located downtown. I had some apprehensions about the 'shared bathrooms' but took the chance and was glad I did. The men's room on the 3rd floor had a shower and two toilets and I never had to wait for it to free up. There is also a separate unisex bathroom on the floor as well. The rooms have a sink and mirror so not everything needs to be done in the common bathroom. Just be sure to bring your towel with you to the shower.

There is no in room coffee maker or a fridge, but other than that everything was wonderful. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Hotel is conveniently located walking distance to Rogers Arena, BC Place, and all the theatres on Granville Street. Lots of good eateries nearby

We spent three days at the Kingston and it was a great place to stay. Very quiet, close to most of the downtown so we could walk to most places and more reasonably priced then the newer hotels in the area. An older hotel but very clean and coffee in the morning included.

Found the hotel very easily after getting off the train from the airport. First impressions, quaint older style hotel but had everything we needed. Great welcome, easy check in and receptionist was very helpful. Room was very clean and comfortable. The hotel was perfectly positioned for getting around the sights and scenes of Vancouver. Lovely bar right next door for food and drink. Would recommend.

The facilities are basic, but this is why the price is so good for the location. Everything was clean and the bed was comfortable. I'd absolutely recommend this place if you're looking for a great location, low price and don't mind shared bathrooms. The bar next door serves delicious food - especially the burgers and fries!

We Loved this hotel, the staff were very helpful, the hotel was clean and comfortable. The bathrooms were kept clean and the was no problem with sharing them. The hotel is in a quiet side street no street noise. I would stay again anytime.

On the positive the location is fantastic! Two blocks to the Canada line and two blocks to the Expo line. Multiple restaurant and shopping choices are a quick walk away; it's perfect for those that prefer not to have a vehicle! The property is dated, but it's kept very clean and has modern washroom facilities. The negatives are, the building has paper thin walls, you can hear conversations word for word and the street noise and Hvac noise from the surrounding buildings is loud. Bring earplugs!! My bed was saggy, the carpet in the room could use a new carpet and the room temperature was either too hot or too cold. However, if you're looking for inexpensive accommodation downtown that's close to everything, this is the place.

It was fine but really is a two star place. My room was not much more than 8 x 8. One bathroom to a floor. Having a room is probably better and safer than the hostels, but do not book here expecting to be impressed.

Overall a good stay, but the room had a leaking faucet that would not stop leaking at all times. The heating is done by radiator which is terribly inconsistent. I found myself too hot or too cold on all nights, not great in winter. The bed was mailed into the middle of the room for no reason, leaving a large gap by the wall. No visitors after 10PM, friends or anyone. Kind of like a parents house. Overall they seem to have some kind of hidden purpose I must have missed because the rooms are terrible. Slightly above a hostel. Good amenities, shared washrooms are cleaned frequently enough. Clean linens available.

The hotel is quite old and historic, and it shows. The floors squeak with every step. The rooms are very small, as was the bed. The walls and mirrors look old and worn. It felt like being in a old college dormitory or in a classic movie. That said, it was comfortable. It's the cheapest hotel in downtown Vancouver, though it should be a bit cheaper in my opinion.

This was an expensive, non worthwhile stay. The rooms are old, the walls are thin, it is outdated and one of the main issues I had with this property is that I requested a wake up call and they didn’t call thus it jeopardized my ability to take an early morning flight!

Location is great. But front desk staff needs to be trained to provide clear information and not be odd or question hotel guests (1. Checking in: front desk staff member, holding my credit card: Can you please tell me your name? 2. Ringing front door doorbell to be let in at 11 pm after a show, holding up key to show staff member, staff member unlocks door and asks: Are you staying with us? 3. Overheard: Front desk staff member checking in two Japanese women with shopping bags in their 60s or 70s: And please, no late night partying or guests in your room, ok?). This hotel, to me, is not worth the money savings. Live and learn. Vancouver is an expensive town so for a little more money, stay at another hotel nearby downtown where the customer service isn’t bizarre and the hotel is not stuffy and humid, old, and odd. Funky is good for many things but my overall impression here is that the issue isn’t an unfair assessment of a “quirky” and “classic” or “not a soulless, chain behemoth” hotel, but instead just a poorly managed one.

Pros: -location is the best. Very walkable to get almost anywhere downtown -have ac -clean rooms (but still has a weird smell) -pretty quiet Cons -very old and outdated -smells weird -paid parking at 25/night. their website advertised free parking included when I originally booked -really small rooms, double bed barely fits 2 people and no where to comfortably unpack or hangout -Shower is so small with no shelves to put your shower stuff so I had to keep it in the sink and open the shower every time to grab it -night time staff question you every time they buzz you in despite seeing you for 3 days in a row. Asking to see the key every time and asking how many people are on the reservation every time. Honestly would not recommend. Disappointed that I spent over $1100 for 3 nights here. It might be worth it if you’re alone and just need a quick place to sleep but otherwise don’t waste your money here.

The hotel is very well located—close to venues, main streets, and both bus and metro stations. Our room had everything we needed for a one-night stay. I think the hotel is very fair for the price. I was on a room with shared bathroom but it was literally across the hallway and always clean. There are enough bathrooms per floor to not feel that you are sharing. They provide you with clean towels, shampoo, soap, body lotion and shower caps in your room. You have free coffee and tea in the morning. Great for a solo work trip. The location is ideal.
