The Terrace Hotel

Was really good staying in a boutique hotel where we could dine with very affordable options then head upstairs to our room. The included breakfast was an added bonus. The negatives were the tv was glitchy, the bathroom very dark and parking of a high clearance van not easy in the area but we really enjoyed our stay 😀

Property is in a good location in the city, however the hotel offers limited facilities. The room was pleasant but double glazed windows would be a good idea to add and an explanation on how to use the air con

We truly loved our 6 days at the Terrace Hotel- The staff was so friendly and helpful especially Abbey- The location was excellent- Cat bus and city bus very close to the hotel. The bar and restaurant area had lots of energy and the food was quite good. We would definitely stay there again.

Schöne, geräumige Suite und obwohl gegen die Strasse hin, sehr ruhig. Was mich gestört hat, ist, als das Zimmer weit nach 14.00 Uhr noch nicht fertig war und der Chef uns ins die Bar schickte, wir dann die Getränke noch selbst bezahlen mussten. Frühstück ist mangelhaft. Leider keine eigenen Hotelparkplätze

A treasure buried in the middle of Perth CBD. We've started at many of the CBD hotels, but this hotel had slipped under the radar. What a great little place. The rooms are spacious and packed with character and suprisingly quiet. The hotel is nestled between the CBD commercial offices, so little nighttime noise unlike other hotels. The hotel offers food and drink at the bar downstairs and breakfasts are great. No direct parking at the property, but there's loads in the area, which can be pre-booked. If there was any things to be aware of, it would be the bathrooms - beautifully renovated, but very dark. My wife struggled to do her makeup in there and there was no other mirrors in the main bedroom. Other than that, it's a quirky hidden treasure

Accommodation is above busy bar and restaurant services with some noise in rooms apparent. Reception staff are part of restaurant, so can be confusing to locate appropriate assistance when required. Needed help with television and obviously, complicated set-up that could not be easily remedied by usual staff. Rooms are generous size but no facility for twin share bedding arrangements. Room is comfortable with tea/coffee inclusion and large bathroom but no facility to contain shower water splashing everywhere. Breakfast meal and drink choices are limited but adequate options and service. Hotel is well located to Perth Convention Centre for easy access.

The stay was very good. The check-in was not good, because the door to enter the check-in area from the street was locked and no one answered the bell. We had to enter through the restaurant and look around for an employee. When we finally found someone, everythibg was smooth from there. We had to ask for instructions for how to use the AC and TV, and they didn't have an adapter on site for the Australian sockets.

It was a great place to stay we had a good dinner there, and we enjoyed decent breakfast. Room was great although more attention to cleaning of dust and sides of the bath plus rim of toilet. We really enjoyed it and would definitely stay there again. The staff were great !

Das Terrace Hotel lieg zentral in der Innenstadt, kurze Wege an die Bay, Shopping rundherum möglich. Das Personal im Hotel scheint ein wenig überfordert - ab Tag 2 waren alle Säfte zum Frühstück ausverkauft, ab Tag 3 auch das Wasser. Die Betten wurden täglich gemacht, die Seifenreste klebten aber auch an Tag 4 noch auf dem Waschtisch. Die Betten waren bequem, das Hitel sehr urig und toll eingerichtet!

Upon arrival the room was not ready for us. We arrived at 10am to drop our bags saying that we would be back at 3pm for check in. The room was not clean and available to us until 4pm. The staff were blasé about any issues that we brought up, with not enough staff to work both the bar and hotel reception. The reception was always unattended, and we always had to wait for quite some time to be served. The aesthetics and conditions of the room were fine, although there was no fitted sheet and a chux wipe sticking out from a mattress hole for some reason. The most alarming thing was that the water from the bathroom tap was brown and unusable. At $200+ per night, water must be drinkable and clear, especially for a city like Perth. There are hotels and apartments with comparable prices all over the city that do not have these issues. We stayed in three hotels during our trip and this was by far the worst one. A good bar/kitchen, a poor hotel.

Beds were comfy. Room was spacious and quirky. Bathroom was a large wet room with two basins. A nice old building with the most glorious chandeliers but in places, it looked as though it needed doing up a bit. Linens, towels and bathroom fitments were clean but room needed vacuuming and dusting. Good bar and breakfast but very limited Gluten Free options so as I’m coeliac it was a bit disappointing seeing all the delicious things I couldn’t enjoy 😊😉😋

An old hotel, quirky rooms with some old style features. We ate dinner in the bar/restaurant. Food was ok but nothing special, enjoyed the free glass of wine though. A couple of negatives, cleaners bucket and rubbish left in the corridor and the reception desk was dusty, just feel that it could be a bit more welcoming.

Great location with a nice breakfast thrown in. The rooms could do with a bit of TLC, missing pictures off the walls with nails just there and the odd lightbulb not working make it feel less than lux but it is right on St Georges Terrace and easy to walk to shops etc. We've stayed there and used Wilson parking twice now, nightmare both times so probably best to try the convention centre one instead. Staff were really friendly and helpful on the plus side.

The location was great and the staff were all very good. Breakfast was tasty & well cooked both mornings, as was the one dinner. Bedroom was adequate with a big bathroom & free standing bath. The hotel fails on the little things. The safe didn't operate as it didn't have a battery. The floors hadn't been vacuumed in the room or most areas we frequented. The pillows were way too big for the bed size, which was a double. There is also too much overt light at night from the various led items (smoke alarm was the brightest. There were spider webs, cracks in walls & wallpaper that indicated little maintenance attention. The decor was functional, but the look was scattered, especially in the bathroom, whilst there were few if any power points. The staff however were the stars & they deserve better from the owner/management.

Good air con, staff friendly, great food - loved the granola breakfast. The open shower makes the entire bathroom the shower - not a fan. A full length mirror in the room would be appreciated.

Very friendly and helpful staff, the older building was clean and comfortable. However the bed was a double, and a little small. Thought I had booked a room with queen bed.

Our stay was pleasant, the staff were very friendly. We were however disappointed with our very small and uncomfortable bed and expensive parking.

Beautiful little rooms, older style but very pretty, with modern bathroom, fittings & fixtures (A/C, TV & charging station all modern). Comfy bed!! Check in closes early for a CBD hotel (9pm) and I almost ended up homeless for the night arriving after a late flight. My fault for not checking the booking properly, but wotif helped me contact the property and they had already prepped my late check in access, and had me in my room less than 20mins after arrival. Great location.

The staff were all very helpful and friendly. Our room (no.7) was lovely - quiet and comfy. The breakfast (residents) was very good - choice of 5 different breakfasts. HOWEVER, the wifi was soooooo slow - took ages to look on the internet - too many clients in the hotel/pub area using it?

Gorgeous spacious suite 5. Comfy bed, free standing bath. Downside was no fresh air but thats ok for one night. And downstairs was indoor or outdoor dining drinks and breakfast. Highly recommend.

The Terrace Hotel is adorable. ON this particular day a staff member exited unexpectedly. Check-in was a shambles ~ no one to ‘welcome us’ or provide a key for well over an hour. All staff members were in the bar and I along with another couple were simply told to ‘wait.’ We did exactly as we were told. The strange thing is that the check-in process took under a minute. If a staff person had left the bar, checked our identification, handed over the key, we could have scurried to our rooms and returned to enjoy the bar atmosphere, too. The bar duty manager provided the three of us w/a complimentary beverage which was kind. They will continue to struggle until they get additional staff on board. Lovely spot and location. P. My husband and i get 2 child free nights a year on our birthdays so we book a stay somewhere, this time we chose the terrace which is somewhere new for us, we arrived a bit early at 235 for a 3pm check in and went to reception which you need to press a button for someone to let you in, we were waiting for a little while and i decided to go check at the bar to see if there was another way in or get someone to help. There were 3 bar staff standing at the bar talking so i told the women at the bar that we were just waiting to check in, she looks at her watch and says "check in isnt till 3" (which was at this stage 20-15mins away) i said thats alright but could we put our luggage in the lobby so we can go park the car and we will be back, she then told me "we are in the middle of bottomless brunch" i told her okay ill go back and wait as i didnt really get a clear response from her, i walked back to the reception door and waited another 5 mins for someone to come check us in, the reception lady who did check us in was lovely but the bar lady made me feel so unwelcome from the minute she opened her mouth. The next morning we waited 40 mins for our coffee, which we had to check on after we finished our breakfast, i beleieve the ticket wasnt printed but no appology either. I would not recommend staying here as they are more concerned with their bottomless brunch that staying guests

Hotel looked very tired. Not enough staff who had a bad attitude and obviously poorly managed. Breakfast was cold and mediocre.

Hotel was nicely appointed, service mentality left rather a lot to be desired. I only asked if I could have a latte coffee in place of the breakfast included, to be advised NO !, Black coffee is included….. “Urm I didn’t have breakfast yesterday either, surely one coffee in place of 2 breakfasts is reasonable”, NO black coffee is included.. Oh well, shame, maybe it was an off day but left a rather bad taste.

Room wasn’t vacuumed when we arrived at 2.30pm, half an hour after checkin time. No sugar for coffee and the remote for the tv didn’t work. Confusing decor. No buffet breakfast, but the breakfast provided was excellent. Very quiet, didn’t seem like there were a lot of rooms occupied. Seems staffing is an issue, tables at the restaurant/bar at night were littered with used glassware, and only one staff member in the restaurant/bar in the morning. Bed and pillows were fantastic. Bathroom was clean and spacious. That end of town is not a hive of activity, sadly.

I loved the decor, its been beautifully designed and decorated. It was clean and well maintained. The bed was comfortable, although the pillows were quite 'high' for both my partner and I. The breakfast was delicious, however, I would have preferred a free barista made coffee with breakfast. The only free coffee was instant. The staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. We particularly enjoyed sitting outside in the morning for our breakfast. It was like a little oasis amongst the office buildings. As this hotel is in the business district of the city, it is an ideal location for getting to Elizabeth Quay area, or a 10/13 minute walk into the city for night-life or shopping. The free buses that run in the city can help to get around too. I would recommend the hotel and being a local, I will definitely stay again. It was good value for money.

We stayed here after a night event at RAC Arena. Perfectly placed to walk to & from venue safely. Comfy bed and quaint rooms. Very friendly staff. Delicious breakfast. Exactly what we needed.

The hotel is well maintained and the staff are very helpful. Excellent cooked breakfast included in room price. Short walk to the city centre.

Lovely old style boutique hotel right in the kings park end of town. Rooms are large and nicely decorated and the staff were friendly. But the hotel had some real disappointments for us. 1) Not one but twice out of our four nights stay they completely forgot our breakfast order... while they were very quick to charge us extra for our flat white coffee and juice. This left us doubly annoyed, firstly that after paying so much for a room they were so miserly as to not provide a decent coffee, and second that they happily charged us for four breakfasts we never received. Unnecessarily mean spirited and left a bad taste. 2) While the rooms and bathrooms are large and beautifully laid out, the soaps and shampoos are way way below the standard of the rooms, again leaving a feeling of being mean spirited. 3) Instead of the international standard of two thin and two thick pillows, we got just two extra large, long and extra thick pillows which were extremely uncomfortable. Why?? 4) when I searched for the room, I searched for room with bath and coffee machine, as I really like a bath while on holidays and see a good coffee as an essential start to the day. The bath was great, but their definition of a coffee machine appears to be an electric kettle and instant coffee! Which simply does not pass the muster these days! Crap coffee is the surest pathway to crap reviews! Would I come back... probably not, sadly, because I liked the location and the rooms

Absolutely loved my stay. The room was beautiful. The restaurant breakfast was delicious. The staff are amazing. Didn't want to leave. Can't wait to go back.

Great location on St Georges Tce and hotel charming with old world styling. Loved being able to sit out the front of the hotel for drinks and bar snacks in early evening. Staff very helpful and friendly. Good coffee. Breakfast is included but very limited. Not buffet as Wotif site notes.
