Belle Aire Mansion Guest House

We stayed at the bungalow, it was fantastic. The facility was clean, private ..but secure. Our host were wonderful. Breakfast was very good. We will definitely be returning.

This was an absolutely fantastic place to stay. I had a friend's wedding in the area and being one of the further away guests travel expenses were already adding up fast. most of the hotels in the area for the time I needed to be there were a bit over my budget. Digging around a bit more, I found the belle Aire mansion guest house just down the road from one of the suggested hotels. It looked like a neat place, and the price was WAYYY more fair than the surrounding options I could find. Not knowing what to expect, I showed up around 6pm a day early ( I mis booked 11-14 instead of 10-13) and just walked in. Instantly the hosts were able to adjust my booking at no cost and have my room ready in 30 minutes. The room was very charming, as well as the open and friendly accommodations throughout the house (the upstairs front porch is an absolute must. grab some coffee or tea and enjoy the relaxing ambiance). Hotel breakfast? forget that and instead enjoy a much more pleasant home cooked meal in the company of others! I was the only one there my first couple of days, and had a 4am flight the last day when it was fully booked so missed the full capacity breakfast experience. Regardless, the hosts were still fantastic company and kept me with plenty to talk about while getting ready for the day! Truly an unforgettable stay compared to any hotel I've ever been to. Whenever I find the time, I 100% plan to go back for a peaceful retreat. do yourself a favor and check it out!!!!!

Lorraine and Jan were kind and welcoming and we enjoyed our stay at their B&B. My husband and I had the bungalow behind the garage, which was the perfect private setting away from other guests. The bungalow has a kitchenette with a sink, fridge, coffee maker, and microwave. The hosts left a variety of snacks in the room for us, including a couple of bags of microwave popcorn, some homemade chocolate chip cookies, Oreos, and assorted candy/chocolate which was a nice touch. There is also hot chocolate and coffee in the room. The bungalow also has an electric fireplace, which is nice. And a SMART TV so you can login and watch shows on your favorite apps. Breakfast in the morning was great. They serve between 8-10 a.m. and did not require us to be seated at a certain time. The cinnamon pecan French toast was delightful! Along with the homemade banana bread, which my husband enjoyed so much, they bagged up the leftovers and sent them home with him. This was a very enjoyable stay away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Galena, while still a short drive into town (less than 10 minutes). We would definitely stay there again!

Steve and Cass and kids are very friendly,The food was wonderful. They also had snacks and coffee readily available. Chocolate chip cookies fresh out of the oven at night. The house is old but a lot of charm. For persons with difficulty climbing stairs there is a bungalow with a ramp,behind the home. Our room was small bed squeaky, but they did have bigger rooms . We were not in the room very much . The town has a lot of history and things to explore nearby. We greatly enjoyed our stay.

The hosts were so sweet and upgraded our room to a suite for free since it was open. And made us the best breakfast in the morning. I'll be back in the summer for sure to have coffee on that balcony porch 😍

Lorraine and Jan have a wonderful, homey, inn that feels welcoming and comfortable. The decorations and antiques provide a country charmed feeling. We stayed in the smaller singe room. We peaked into the larger rooms with sitting areas, fireplaces, jacuzzis and they LOOKED AMAZING! Most of the enjoyment comes from the hospitality of Lorraine and Jan. They have been doing this for 37 years and they do it as a business but also because they love serving people. Lorraine is great about making sure people have what they need and urges them to ask them for whatever. They make themselves available. If you want to chat while you have a yummy provided breakfast, you will have fun with this delightful couple who know the ropes of Galena and are glad to share them with you. P.S. I really appreciated the little coffee/tea bar and mini fridge up on the bedroom level where we could grab a coffee and bring it back to our bedroom to sip while waking up and getting ready to go downstairs for breakfast!

I will plan another trip here in the future. Downtown Galena is really neat. We checked out some hiking trails and had a blast.

The property was very nice and rooms reasonably priced. The breakfast was good. Cass, the innkeeper was very sweet, friendly and helpful. Her twins are adorable. However, I think that the towels need an upgrade and bathroom essentials should be included even if that means that she raises her prices. Also, some additional lighting is needed on the front of the property to be easier to find. My overall stay was great! Thanks again Cass and family.

Belle Aire is a gracious old mansion kept in pristine condition by Lorraine and Jan who have operated it for decades. Some of the rooms are enormous, others a bit more intimate. Lorraine puts her heart into her breakfasts, which are not only delicious, but also presented with a certain flair. As you approach from Hwy 20, you may wonder about the business development nearby. I can assure you that is all quite irrelevant once you step in the front door.

Property could have used some Interior paint and carpet cleaning. I would also suggest some air fresheners throughout the home.

Wonderful experience. We stayed in the Garden Vue Suite and were extremely happy with the room. It was very spacious and charmingly decorated. Our hosts Cass and Steve were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast both mornings was delicious. We will definitely stay there again if we are in the Galena area.

My husband and I had a wonderful time in Galena. Lorraine and her husband were perfect hosts who made us feel at home. Breakfast was excellent. The B&B is not walking distance from downtown, but there are shops and a good Mexican restaurant nearby. Highly recommended!
