For the money, This is a great value. there is an adults only section with huge pool, restaurant and bar. Entertainment at several location every night. Casino within walking distance. English speaking staff although we also speak Spanish

La estancia estuvo muy bien, buen trato del personal, el estacionamiento muy chico para todos los bloques que aloja, estaría bien que vendieran agua de coco 😅 e incluyeran en el menú mariscos aunque que tenga que pagar costo extra, albercas con buena temperatura para nada. En general muy bien todo. Muy bien las dinámicas y shows que presentan.

There's a swimming pool quite large that is for adults only and it is quiet. No music, no animation with speakers and microphones, etc.

Stayed for 10 days enjoyed all of it. Lots of different things to do in all areas. Security finally in-forced the no reservation of chairs. You’re not in it, you lose the chair period. Love it.

Beach is awesome, love the rentable equipment that’s included with the resort. Multiple pools and bars that don’t disappoint and lots of dining options all throughout the day!

No elevator that’s the only negative everything else was amazing

Great staff, very clean, a lot of variety to eat, great live show on every night, events all day if you’d like, or sit by the pool or on the beach. Paddle boarding, kayaking available, you can book excursions right in the resort or at the corner shop beside the resort. No wifi in the rooms, only in the common area. Parts of the resort are getting a little run down but they are renovating. 2 convenient shops in the resort, and many more less than 5 min from the resort on foot. There is a fridge and a safe in the rooms, beds were very hard. No beach bar service but the bars are close, no swim up bar, you must book a restaurant by 8am if you don’t want to eat buffet. It’s a 20 min taxi ride from the airport which will cost 500 pesos. 300 from the resort back to the airport. Short walk to Bucerias market. Short walk to the bank and groc store, many pharmacies within walking distance.

Chairs on the beach were sometimes hard to get but they had someone watching and if the people didn’t show up in an hour the staff took the towels off. Wish they would have had swim up bars but it was okay for this stay. They definitely need more smoking areas,

We stayed a week at this resort and loved our stay. The staff were so friendly from check in, during, and check out. The whole process was very seamless. The resort looks just as beautiful as it does in photos. There were several pools around, including an adults only pool, which we spent lots of time in. Only complaint was that the pools closed early (6/7pm)- but understandable as staff were cleaning the area for the next day. There were lots of activities to do throughout the day, and a different show each night. The theatre staff are so talented and was amazed by the performances. Food was alright. Standard for an all-inclusive place. The buffet selections rotate slightly each day. The a-la-carte restaurants could improve slightly with the booking process (bookings open up at 8am with limited seatings… and book up quick if you aren’t early!) The rooms are a bit dated but we didn’t mind. The rooms were always cleaned and supplied with fresh towels and toiletries. We wished the wifi was more accessible throughout the resort. There were only certain areas that had wifi. Overall, beautiful and reasonably priced resort to stay at!

I liked that this property, at first impression, is a more authentic Mexican property with bright colors and great architecture. The beach is beautiful, aside from there being so many vendors trying to sell you their wares. The rooms were generally clean, however quite worn down and we had a huge spider in our bathroom. The pools were warm and not very refreshing. The bartenders over at the adults only pool were fantastic. They always remembered our drinks and made the best Pina colada and were very personable. In general, I liked this resort except for one thing: The food was aweful. I would not say this about any resort ever...but it really was. All week there was not any tacos or quesadillas or burritos or literally anything Mexican. There were regularly just cheese melted in a tortilla and that was called a quesadilla. No salsa, no pico de gallo, and rarely any hot sauce available other than tobasco. First time I've had trouble finding hot sauce, Pico or literally anything Mexican in Mexico. The buffet regularly had hot dogs, burgers, fries, kids might like it. I had a good time, but I did struggle to find something to eat most days. The dinner reservation system was down most days meaning we had to run over at 8am to get a dinner reservation if we wanted anything other than buffet. Only 1 restaurant is indoors and has a/c. Go to the Italian one.

Overall a good experience if your not a foodie. Food was 4/10 most days. The la Carte restaurants were worse than the buffet and had a hard time getting booked in. The food was cold. We had the pools close for a full day other than one. The actual atmosphere was fun and drinks were good. Rooms were clean

The resort was great—clean and conveniently laid out with everything close by. However, it does need significant updates. Our shower was awful, and the room could definitely use a refresh. Despite that, we enjoyed our stay and would return.

Property’s interior and exterior in poor condition. Room, linen, towels , etc…dirty, smelly, and old. Food courts were open and birds constantly pecking the food. Our stay was reserved and paid for four days, but we were so disappointed with this place that we left on the second day. The only amenity we enjoyed was the beach access and walks. If you are looking for a budget hotel to just sleep and shower, this is the place because even the pools are discouraging. Also, don’t rely on the a/c working.

Absolutely amazingly clean resort! The resort is dated but definitely still very clean and great for everything! Good was decent but could change out some variety. Amazing staff but overall very good place to stay especially with small children!

Beach is amazing. Staff are friendly and helpful. Property is definitely older, but the cleanliness helps you look past this. We were in ocean front room, which I would recommend. We had a fridge and a safe. WiFi worked in the room. We got into a la cartes every night. Pleasant stay there. After reading reviews we had lower expectations, Reviewing it as a 3 star hotel, I think it was v good. Food was the same as we’d experienced in higher star Mexican resorts

Hotel is dated but pretty clean. Beds are super hard with tiny pillows. Food was ok. Same same everyday. Witnessed birds in the open food . Alcohol is watered down leaving you feeking bloated and sick.. Resort is mainly retired coupkes. I would recommend any other hotel but this one. .

Property grounds are beautiful. The pools are cleaned and well kept. The staff work really hard and are always smiling and greeting you, available to answer any questions. Rooms are standard, maybe a bit dated, but clean and everything is in working order.

I left the Decameron yesterday, I have absolutely nothing to complain about. Our room was cleaned everyday, the grounds were immaculate and the Service was amazing! Javier at the block 4 bar was outstanding! If you want to relax and have a Great time, I highly recommend this resort. And also, The Rhythm of the Night Show, mesmerizing ! Thank you to all of the staff for making our Vacation a success. See you next year!

The property is very well maintained with lovely trees, grass and flowered hedges. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our room was cleaned perfectly every day. The food was good, just what you would expect with a buffet all inclusive these days. The bartenders were friendly and made excellent alcohol and no-alcohol drinks. I would recommend this hotel for a 3-4 star experience.

The staff doesn’t understand English. They keep routing your query from one person to the next. Kept us waiting for hours because they couldn’t understand or speak English. We had to stay in a room with 2 separate beds(FYI we are a couple). They asked us to adjust for a night and didn’t bother to reciprocate the favour by compensating in any way or even a thank you for the matter. The bathroom was unclean. Worst part- NO WiFi in any room. How on earth will people survive without WiFi in today’s time. Worst experience ever. Wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone.

My family and I have stayed here a couple times now and i like that the property has been more secure. They are currently doing a ton of reno work to all the buildings which is good except they start working at 7am and dont care how loud they are being, and I am talking LOUD! I dont want to sleep till noon but being fprced to wake up at 7am is not my idea of a relaxing vacation. Instead of working on all the buildings at once, close one down and do the work then move to the next. They staff is very friendly and helpful although the buffet style food could be better for sure. They have a la cart restaurants but trying to get a reservation is a bit of a chore. All in all, for a 2 maybe 3 star resort is it not a bad place and i believe once the renos are done it will hopefully be a little nice. Beach is beautiful but they still need more security on the beach, i dont like relaxing with my son and having some local try to sell me drugs on the resort beach, but hey, i guess it is Mexico.

Our stay at Royal Decameron Bucerias was not bad amd Ibwould likely return, but knew from other reviews that I was not going to a 5 star resort. The staff are amazing, the drinks are flowing, and the area is a good walkable area to local shopping and restaurants. The beach is amazing, although I personally found the water to be too rough to swim in. The adult pool on the back was amazing, quiet, and right by the buffet and bar. You can walk to the beach and get a cheap 1 hour massage for $35, and you can also walk to the downtown Bucerias shopping area on the beach or street in about 20-25 minutes. Overall, we had a good time, but I was uncomfortable during our stay because the air conditioner did not cool and our room was hot at night (like 75). We also had a room with no mirror in the bathroom and it made it hard to get ready. I also did not like having to eat every meal outside. All of the buffets and restaurants, except for maybe the steak housr and mexican restaurant were outside and I have a medical condition where heat affects me, such as nausea, so eating outside was difficult. The buffets were HORRIBLE, but the restaurants that you had to make reservations for were much better. Overall, I would say you get what you pay for, so its a great option for those of us on a budget, but don't expect a five star resort.

The property is old. The AC unit barely worked. locks on sliding doors barely latched. Just run down in many ways

We had an ocean front view, which was beautiful, however, very noisy at night. There were two very loud weddings during our six stay night stay. The room was very small and out dated. There was a small 20 inch TV on the wall, however we had no remote to operate it. I requested a remote three times and gave up after that. The air conditioning has highly ineffective. The lowest we were able to get it during our stay was 26°C. The room has limited storage and a small closet, so be prepared to live out of your suitcase. The mini fridge did not cool and left a giant puddle of water on our floor. Food quality was decent at all restaurants, but wine is terrible and the alcohol choices are very limited. Roger in the sports bar was my VIP of the trip. He was extremely gracious and provided excellent service.

Wifi was very unstable and often non existent. It was a struggle to book the restaurants on their online system at 8:00 am every day and by 8:05 am they were already full. The overall complex structures,furnitures & fixtures are in need of upgrades from top to bottom including thread bare, fraying and worn thin bedding and towels. Staff/Service was average with very few staff who seemed happy to be there. The grounds and pools were clean and well maintained.

The buffets were great. The adult pool was great. Our room was old and in need of a Reno but it was clean. We had a minor back up in our shower but it did drain eventually without leaving a huge mess.

I enjoyed everything but the rooms need some upgrades, ie very old and dated furniture, not enough hangersnun the room and not enough towels in the room

Es un hotel muy grande, pero nunca a sido remodelado. Las instalaciones ya son muy viejas, el internet no llego nunca a nuestra habitación se batalla mucho porque no en todos lados hay señal. En la habitación el cable se quedaba pausado nunca cargaban los canales y solo 5 se veían aveces, el buffet tiene variedad, pero la comida no tiene sabor, el personal excelente, el checking es a las 3 de la tarde si llegas temprano te dejan es la sala esperando, gracias a dios yo hice checking en línea y a las 2:30 nuestra habitación ya estaba lista

It was a bit far from the airport. We booked for a 1 king AND 1 Double bed room but was only given a one-king bedroom and when we asked about it, the reception said that it was my fault for not picking the right bed selection when it clearly showed in my reservation that it was supposed to be 2 beds (the gaslighting ugh!). Another thing about a staff issue was that one server in the buffet was probably trying to be friendly with us and greeted us in Chinese but we are not one so it was kind of awkward correcting him. I honestly don't think he should be assuming people's nationality if he's not sure or had heard us talk at all so were a bit offended. Anyway, the phone was also not working in the room given to us so we couldn't call the Spa massage to reserve a slot and had to go in-person to reserve. Overall food selections though, from buffets to specialty restaurants, it was all okay, except the 2 days we ate for lunch buffets, we were stared at and watched by a FEW iguanas in the area and the servers were not doing anything about it. It was very uncomfortable and scary tbh. The beaches and the pools were wonderful~ no complains at all! The WIFI was NONEXISTENT. We were relying on our mobile data the whole time so that's something to take note of if you're booking this resort. It's definitely a good budget-friendly all-inclusive for first-timers but I would probably try a different resort next time I'm back at Puerto Vallarta.

The staff were first class… the bartenders , housekeepers, restaurant, check in , greeters all amazing. Very nice people. Always offering to help.

We've been to the Royal Decameron numerous times. Service overall has gone downhill, although especially at the lobby. If you need anything done with your room, just ask for a manager. Don't waste your time with the regular staff. Or talk to Freddie, one of the bell boys. He helped us out every time, told us who to talk to if we needed something, answered all our questions, etc. Also bring cash with you. They no longer exchange bills either. Lobby staff told to ask the serving staff to convert CAD to pesos, which is ridiculous. Not their job. There's also a Walmart-type store about a 10-15 minute walk up the entry road if you need to buy anything. The facility itself is great though, which is why we keep going back. Lots of pools, bars, restaurants, activities to do. The beach is massive and beautiful. And if beach volleyball is your thing, this is the place. The entertainment/activities crews--orange shirts--are usually top notch. Lots of fun and funny games for guests and they were great with our kids. I got to know a few quite well--Gucxi, Danny, Himena and Jocelyn. Super fun, welcoming and helpful, and do a great job organizing games for the guests. Maintenance crews, room cleaners, and bar staff are excellent. We had an obnoxious waiter at the buffet first night. The clown actually asked for a tip even though we had to get our own cutlery, etc. Servers are hit and miss nowadays, but we know the good ones by sight, so all good. But no service, no tip

Upon arrival there was changes made to the resort which they neglected to inform us of such as reservations for special restaurants had to be booked daily at 9am according to the handout. It took several days for me to find out it was changed to 8 AM. Thus The restaurant bookings were always full and I was unable to get a successful reservation. The room was not the room I paid for and the attitude at the front desk was oh well we have given away all the rooms this is all that’s left I had paid months in advance for a trip with my granddaughter that was supposed to be very memorable and it ended up being lots of hassles because they did not want to give me what I paid for I moved to three different rooms in the span of the first three days I was there . so I paid more for room for oceanfront view with Two double beds and I didn’t get that the air conditioning in the oceanfront view was malfunctioning which made an unpleasant which meant I had to move to a different location where the air condition was better at a loss of funds for me which they would not and made me sign a document saying that they would not reimburse me for the

thought our bartender, Elias at #4 Keiko Bar was fantastic and great personality. Didn't like that the small money exchange would only convert foreign dollars to Pesos and not break larger Pesos to smaller amounts. Made it very hard to get smaller amounts for tipping purposes.

The best part about it is being in Bucerias and the options to explore around. The place itself has tons of pools and beach access which is great. Food and drinks are good but not incredible. Service was adequate but not above and beyond

My enjoyment of this place was 5 stars but I wouldn’t call it a 5 star hotel as I know people have certain expectations. The food was good. There was always something I could find at the buffet that I really liked. The beach was beautiful. They take great care of it and we saw them cleaned it regularly. The staff was great. I was there to swim, lie on a beautiful beach, have an evening cocktail in an outdoor bar by the beach and watch a beautiful sun set. It hit all notes

Being right in Bucerias made everything so convenient. Eating on or off the resort provided great variety. Staff was exceptional, friendly and helpful. A definite do-over resort.

I have to be honest, at first I was sad cause the property it’s older, the rooms, the common areas, they just got bought and the entire property it’s being renovated. The second day I was in love….. the people that work there were so friendly, polite and willing to help with whatever. We got to made friends with some of the staff too, recommended us the best restaurants in town, Bucerias and PV and I’m not taking about fancy upscale places I’m talking in town local food. The best food! Restaurant inside the resort are not that great food in not that season, but they do have to cater for a lot of different people coming from around the world so that’s understandable. The Wi-Fi is not the greatest but again it is a lot of people using it at the same time. The hotel is in the best area you can walk anywhere it is a safe area. We never had an issue and we were walking in town until 10/11 PM.

Good location, Bucerias is a small village and far enough from the PV density, but close enough for easy access to airport and services. Property has all one needs in a resort, with great amenities (kayaks, boards, bikes, tennis, pickleball, etc.), good beach access with plenty of chairs (if you go early) Structure is a bit dated, might use some renovation. Rooms are rather basic, not fancy, but clean and functioning. The staff is very nice and they do all they can to help you. Choice of restaurants is good, but you have to book them early in the morning before they sell out. Quality and variety of the food has room for improvement; after 5 days we were definitely ready for a change! Providing better choice in small things (like adding espresso / cappuccino machines...) would go a long way to improve the overall experience. Overall, good value for the price, not a fancy resort, but we had a great time.

The Royal Decameron is a wonderful resort, the staff are exceptional, friendly, and go above and beyond to make your trip unforgettable. The location is excellent, there’s a lot to do on the resort and you’re nice and close to Bucerías. Puerto Vallarta is also only a 20 min drive away if you want to head into the city! Will definitely be going back again!!

We liked the pool settings and you can walk the beach as far as you can see. Love all the little shops and restaurants right outside and it’s walkable to the flea market

Smaller resort, friendly staff, clean grounds. Food was pretty good. The Mexican night they have on Thursday was really good. They made fresh churros. About a 15 minute walk into bucerias where there is a market and lots of yummy restaurants right on the beach.

Food was OK. Rooms were run down and things broken. But for the price, a great value! Would definitely come again!

We loved our visit, the rooms were clean but slightly outdated which is fine, you dont go on vacation for the rooms. The staff was all friendly and helpful when needed. The food was phenomenal so many wonderful options for those who are willing to try something new. Very safe, i ended up losing my phone and hat on two separate occasions and one of the guests brought my phone to the staff and a staff member recognized me and told me he had my hat. Walking distance to the grocery store and some flea markets. Had no issues with reservations as we linked our wyndham rewards and they gave us different restaurants each day. Recommend bringing floaties or a sleeping pad for the beach as the chairs are quite hard, but otherwise great time. Would definitely come back!

Overall a great place! The staff are very friendly and helpful. The buffet restaurants are all a little different from each other with a great selection of food..The wifi doesn't work in the rooms which is not great. The only other complaint is makig reservations for the restaurants can only be done on the day of and are almost all filled by 8am.

I had a great time the only reason I gave a 4 and not a 5 is because I couldn’t make reservations for the restaurant I tried 5 days and the reservation system wouldn’t gave any restaurant to reserve.

Buffet is not great. Breakfast is the best. Reserve the Italian restaurant for dinner. That was the best. Disappointed in Mexican food considering we were in Mexico. Many of our rooms had broken outlets or broken lamps or water issues.

The biggest issue is the dining and quality of food served. The dishes offered weren't inline with the restaurants theme. Expectations were not met. The difference between an average rating is doing the little things right and exceeding expectations. In both categories they failed.
