Kingston Country Courtyard

Ive past this place for years and wondered what it was. Eventually had the opportunity to stay and we were pleasantly surprised. Its a lot bigger than we expected. No real "bar " as such but the restaurant was pretty full and the food was good. Breakfast was excellent - enjoyed that more than dinner if im honest Well placed for exploring the area

It was a very large room with settee and armchair. Bed was very comfortable. Large bathroom, but had a bath/shower. In common with every hotel I have stayed at there was no handrail in the shower. This is essential with a bath/shower arrangement for older guests, as otherwise it is difficult and dangerous to get out of the shower. Breakfast was excellent and nothing was too much trouble if you wanted something not quite standard. Restaurant decor was fine, but without any soft furnishings, hard floor and metal chairs, it was very noisy. We decided this was too much to spend there for an evening meal, so we cannot comment on the food. With a blue badge, we were allowed to park our car outside our room. The car park was outside the courtyard. It would be a trial to drag your cases from the car park across the gravel to your room. I'm glad we didn't have to do it. A pleasant garden gave views over the valley towards Corfe Castle. Not being in a town made it very quiet. Overall, a delightful stay and would certainly return.

Lovely location and proximity to coastal walks. No louge area and tiny wet room so everything gets wet when you shower.

Room excellent, good size with modern bathroom. Parking no problem. Hotel sign could do with changing / modifying soi can be found more easily. Will stay again next time in the area.

Friendly staff, efficient, dog friendly where dogs are allowed in the restaurant. Good breakfast and restaurant. Enjoyable two nights stay. Will return.

Lovely grounds, staff were friendly, perfect place for us and the dog and a great staging point for traveling around Dorset.

Kingston Country Courtyard is a lovely place to stay in a very convenient location to visit the area around Swanage, Corfe Castle, Wareham and the delightful coast. Although its position is quite remote there is a bus stop right out side with frequent services to Swanage and Wareham. The offering available for breakfast was very generous and hot food was cooked to order. There is also a restaurant for evening meals. The bed was very comfortable and being in the country, it was a very quiet night. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The only downside to the property is the lack of a lounge other than that a great place to stay with attentive staff.

CHARGED TWICE FOR OUR ONE DOG ROOM EMPTY OLD SOFA NO PICTURES BRIGHT LIGHT FROM OUTSIDE CORRIDOR GOOD BED POOR DINNER, CHARGED A SUPPLEMENT FOR LANGOUSTINES WHICH WERE TIRED AND 1 CM OF FLESH SWEET HELPFUL WAITRESS 3 SHEETS ON THE ONE TOILET ROLL HAD TO GO TO OUR CAR FOR A PACKET OF TISSUES AT 0300 WHEN I TOLD THE FEMALE RECEPTIONIST SHE SAID "THAT M UST HAVE BEEN INCONVENIENT" STILL WAITING FOR £12 REFUND FOR DOUBLE CHARGED DOG THE BREAKFAST WAS NOT LOCALLY SOURCED TIRED DULL SAUSAGE AND BACON TASTED LIKE THE CHEAPEST SUPERMARKET STUFF AGAIN NICE LADY SERVING BREAKFAST NO BAR AS ADVERTISED, POORLY RUN SEEMS LIKE THEVE RUN OUT OF MONEY????

All staff were friendly, the room was immaculately clean and the bed was comfortable. I left before breakfast so a packed lunch was kindly offered. Only issues were noise from surrounding guests (it did die down at night but voices and footsteps on the gravel outside were very audible in the evening/afternoon) and there was a gap in the blinds ( that could be fixed with curtains).

The place had helpful friendly staff the place was very clean and fresh recommend to anyone

I stayed for one night while working in the area, really comfortable clean room, felt very safe. Breakfast in the morning was lovely with lots of good options, I would stay again :)

The staff were so friendly and helpful. It was very relaxing. The only mark down was that the bathroom did have some mould

Staff were lovely, the lend of a charger and my wonderful waitress for Sunday breakfast were so thoughtful. However, the Thermostat in my room was at 30 but I felt no heat at all? The binoculars in my room weren’t clean. I was shocked with an additional £39 as I thought it was only £10 per night for dogs? Ok I had a glass of Prosecco but I was left a bit miffed and didn’t like to make a fuss.

Like the place as the staff were lovely, place was quite and safe. Could be a little cleaner but not bad 👍

The staff were welcoming and attentive. The room was beautiful, cool, clean and very large. The view from the garden was breathtakingly beautiful. The whole stay was so peaceful. The onsite restaurant was sourced with high quality, local produce which was lovingly crafted. The breakfast was out of this world. I can not fault our stay.

Basically clean but there was black mold in the bathroom. The back of the bathroom door was grubby. The table in the bedroom hadn't been dusted with dust and hair left on it. The bed was comfortable with good quality bed linen. The service was very good with friendly and helpful staff. Nice location. Would benefit from an update in the bathroom and bar/restaurant area. Overall we had a good stay.

Comfy bed, very clean, soft towels. Delicious cooked breakfast, fresh coffee, nothing is too much trouble.

The staff and basic infrastructure are sound as a pound. Speaking of which, the costs of staying here were less painful than for many Hotels in the area. This Mid-September stay, (early sunset and cooler weather), pushed us into spending time in rooms which would have only been used briefly in midsummer. Room 1: The Dairy; lacked storage shelves (or Drawers) for storing clothes. It\'s not an easy room to ventilate and it was musty. Room 2: Carpenters 1; Great design, the Wet Room has a floor tiling issue which is "in hand" for sorting out. The Sofa had been wrestled into submission by "former guest activity" and needs TLC or painless despatch. We enjoyed the Restaurant. The owners have a policy of using local produce and selling local booze. It worked well except that the Bottle Conditioned Ale (Not something widely known about these days) wasn\'t sold as such and hadn\'t been allowed to settle before sale. A selection of Local Cyder compensated for the beer issue and lead us into wide a ranging menu. I\'m not a Chillie lover but there was plenty on offer. The Burgers were good and enjoyed by us. Fresh caught fish was available as a special. Remember it\'s the end of the season: as a misquoted movie star once said, we\'ll be back.

After spending the day at Monkey World we booked here to save the long drive home. This hotel is beautiful! Our room was The Loft which served myself, husband and 2 children 16 & 10 perfectly. The lady on reception was super helpful about the local area and we had a lovely evening by the beach in Swanage. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Disappointingly I'm afraid the courtyard doesn't live up to it's review score. Austere Motel style courtyard with little style, adornment, or atmosphere. Tiny haphazard reception area & slow check-in. Room was clean but spartan, lacking in style or nice touches. Bed was very creaky & toilet seat broken. Nowhere to put items in the bathroom when dressing & no hooks. Small outdated TV with no internet/smart access. No seat in bedroom for dressing. Bath water ran cold twice. Restaurant accessed down a dark corridor & is hopelessly outdated, cheaply appointed, & lacking any finesse. Inappropriate radio music played loud throughout didn't help matters! Tables were 'sticky.' The evening menu was very limited & expensive considering the lack of ambience. Cooked breakfasts were adequate but helpings small. Continental breakfasts were ok, but with few components. Trying to find a highlight, nice yoghurts from Tim's dairy! This place is a wedding venue & we experienced problems parking, and noise from wedding guests late into the evening, especially from the loud large flint shingle which is everywhere. There where many guests with dogs and they are allowed into the restaurant, at times spontaneously barking. We were awoken at 6am by two dogs barking in the next room. Such a shame that the courtyard lacks so much, that just a little effort, injection of style, and investment could quite easily remedy.

Lovely setting. But our room was right by the road, so lots of road noise. Also under our room was the entertainment hall and storage rooms of which we kept hearing doors slamming!!! Lighting in the room was strange and sofa was very small and uncomfortable. Tv was close to sofa but when watching in bed you would need a magnify glass. Fridge very noisy (humming all night) Breakfast was good though a bit cramped when there's a lot of people. Had scrambled egg bacon and avocado, but half of avocado was brown. Reception was a bit strange just a laptop computer on a bench, no signs just that the door was open so guessed it was there. Think the room was expensive for what it was.

My friend and I really enjoyed our stay, and our last minute decision to stay inland vs the coast. Loved the Isle of Purbeck and the countryside. We only stayed one night, but had a Family Room so two bedrooms and that was perfect for us. The sitting room area was spacious and great for watching the final of Wimbledon. The bathroom seemed quite new and I thought it was a shame that the small sink mirror was very old and a larger mirror with a light would’ve been nicer, especially for women. The beds were very comfortable. Quiet and beautiful environment in general. Lovely, nice couple own it. Staff were great in general. Included breakfast very good. A young woman named Skye kindly secured a reservation for dinner at the very good local Scott’s Arms, after not being able to get a table at lunchtime. Lovely spot with a view and just a few minutes drive from the B&B. Very convenient location for Corfe Village, which we really enjoyed. Our only complaint would be that we found it a bit hot in the room and restaurant, and the room windows either didn’t open or only opened a bit, but we would stay here again.

Only stayed one night. The king-sized bed was super comfortable. Stunning views across Isle of Purbeck

The location and views were beautiful. Room was specious, however, there were no drawers or closet to put your clothes in. The bathroom was a bit of a challenge with no separation of the shower and water splashing everywhere. No space to put your toiletries either. Breakfast was fantastic!!

The staff were really welcoming and helpful. I was given local information on arrival and a vegan breakfast was provided in the morning. Excellent value for money too.

The accommodation is good. It can get busy in summer and many people bring dogs, which can be noisy. Surrounding area is beautiful and it's location makes it a generally peaceful spot. It appears a little short staffed.

A wonderful place. Incredible views, wonderful food, fantastic location, friendly staff, walkable to a pub with the most amazing beer garden view. It was fantastic, hope to visit again.

The property is located in a beautiful spot, and has great views. The room I stayed in was a spacious suite, with an upstairs bedroom with great views. Well equipped with a great bathroom. I cannot recommend the evening dinning option, as had a poor experience with food and service, but staff were attentive to issues, and made an effort to resolve. Breakfast was fine. From the village pub the view from their garden is spectacular, overlooking Corfe Castle. A quiet peaceful spot with pretty surroundings. While there is a bus stop, a car is recommended.

This was one of the best hotels we have stayed in and we have stayed in a lot, the staff were very helpful and glad to to see us not like some, the room was excellent in every way the breakfast was tasty and well staffed,location was breath taking with fantastic views of corfe castle and surrounding countryside and just to sum up in the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger I’ll be back

Gorgeous little country retreat. Great place to go out and explore nature. Amazing staff, friendly and accommodating. Great food, breakfast has everything you need. The full English is very impressive, good quality and not oily! Dinner was also of a high standard. You get a real sense of farm yard with this place. We would return. Don’t expect luxury, but you definitely get a cosy and warm experience.

We really enjoyed our short stay at Kingston Country Courtyard. The staff were all super welcoming and friendly, the restaurant food was tasty (if occasionally a little under-seasoned) and the location is good for exploring the Isle of Purbeck.

my only real let down was the breakfast was not as good as my last stay. other than that all good

Very welcoming & professional check-in, accommodation was excellent. The evening meal unfortunately was extremely disappointing, as it was 2nd January hopefully that was partly to blame.

Nice hotel & location. Converted barns with a very rustic look inside. Staff very helpful with an amazing breakfast offering.

Views are great and there is a great walk to cliffs overlooking the sea from the village. They could do with some extra staff for breakfast. Generally a pleasant stay, which i would recommend.
