Great stay and would stay again. Breakfast and dinner in the hotel was really good. Just be aware if you are in the other building it’s about 5 or 6 mins up the road, but does have private parking.

Great hotel, clean, spacious and comfortable rooms. Restaurant serves lovely food and staff friendly and helpful. Rooftop terrace for guests only so plenty of room. Close to centre of town, shops and waterfront within walking distance.

If you're looking for a charming getaway, Arch House in Wells-next-the-Sea, Norfolk, is an excellent choice. This delightful spot is not only dog-friendly, but it also features a beautiful garden where you and your furry friend can unwind and enjoy the surroundings. The rooms are impeccably clean and thoughtfully set up- this included two dog beds, dog bowls, dog towels and dog treats which were greatly appreciated. To top it off, the food is fantastic, along with a warm, welcoming atmosphere- we will be staying again thank you.

Great dog friendly stay, tasty breakfast included avo toast and full English. My dog was welcomed with open arms from dog menus, treats in the room, attention from the staff and lots of water and bowls around the facilities. Opposite the hotel is a green which is perfect for doggy toilet breaks. The room was really clean and quiet we stayed. Amazing location to Staithe street and the harbour. Only improvements would be air con in the room (they had a fan) and more free parking near the venue, we got lucky with a space on the Buttland

I stayed at the Arch House, which has lovely communal spaces (lounge, conservatory, patio) and is a short walk from the Globe for breakfast. The towels and toiletries were very nice and the handy parking appreciated. Breakfast was excellent and the coffee especially good. Staff were exceptional. Worth noting that the old building is not very soundproof and noise travels between rooms (but a minor point in an overall enjoyable stay).

Excellent stay with our dog, he was welcomed at every part of our stay and had a dog bed and treats on his arrival. We stayed in the annex which is probably best for dogs that are affected by noise as it was really quiet and also had a secure courtyard right outside our room. The food was incredible and the staff were really friendly throughout our stay. The town is walking distance and it’s a lovely area!

We were allocated a room in the annex Arch house, being fully aware that it a very old building we found the room rather small and stuffy, needs some maintenance, window very dirty and too much light visible at night from LED lights, I’ll fitting door and window blind and glass window in ensuit door. Carpets not very clean in all areas.

The accomodation was very nice, done throughout in a marine theme which was perfect for a seaside visit. Comfortable, clean and reasonably priced. The staff were all very helpful and pleasant and the breakfast was first rate and very filling. Altogether, a lovely break.

On a positive note the staff in the Globe were very friendly and helpful, the breakfasts were generally good and we had a good evening meal there. We stayed in one of the Arch house courtyard rooms and this was very disappointing and nothing like as smart as the pictures on the website. The ensuite bathroom was full of mould in the shower mastic and on the ceiling, the plaster was peeling and the light surround was heavily rusted. The toilet seat lid was yellowed and marked and the toilet roll holder was very cheap plastic and also looked old. The heated towel rail didnt work and the extractor fan made a lot of noise but was rather ineffective. Definitely not 4 star standard.

Lovely pet double room. Could do with a good dust as ornaments very dusty. My dog dripped water from her bowl on the bathroom floor- I soaked it up with the bath mat and was astonished at how dirty the floor actually was. Very disappointing.

The hotel was very clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay there again. The restaurant had a lot of dogs, which isn’t too good in a restaurant. The breakfast cup was very stained, so I had to get it swapped, but the food was very nice, with a lot of choice. Staff were very friendly, and we had a good laugh with them.

Stayed in annexe to which the rooms were adequate but looking tired. Our room had been 'serviced' but not cleaned as the carpet had not been hovered and there was a build up of dust on some of the furniture There was also rotting food in one of the drawers which we addressed with the hotel but never even got an apology. Tea & coffee facilities in communal area were not adequate for the number of rooms. Would I stay there again? ... probably not

We stayed here recently and, whilst the room was clean and nicely decorated, the overall experience was hugely overpriced — at least £100 too much for what we received. We paid £240 for the night, which is frankly excessive given the shortcomings. Shortly after booking, we received an email informing us there would be no parking available due to the Wells Festival. This was frustrating, as we would have factored parking into our decision had we known beforehand. The bathroom was a particular let-down. It had a shower over a bath that had clearly seen better days, a badly rusted radiator, battered old soap and shampoo bottles, and no loo roll holder or hand towel rail. To make matters worse, the bathroom window looked directly onto the roof terrace — and wasn’t frosted — much to my husband’s surprise when he walked in half dressed. In the bedroom, there was no fridge — which feels like an odd omission for a room at this price point. The noise level was also high, which made for a restless night. Breakfast was another disappointment. The black pudding was inedible, and serving streaky bacon on a British breakfast plate seemed an odd choice. The dining process was disorganised — we ended up in a bit of a disagreement with staff over “allocated” tables, which could easily be avoided by simply using table numbers. Perhaps the price was inflated due to the festival, but even so, the value for money simply wasn’t there. Overall, we left feeling that our stay was worth the money

Supposed to be 4 star .mould on bathroom ceiling lock on door broken, radiator nt working badly marked sideboard, downstairs room with path leading to other rooms so no privacy from passers by very poor for the price

Great location, and room was fine, but were dead bugs on the blind and kept up by creaking floorboards from next room - sounds dramatic but was so loud.

Stayed on the main premises: great room, very nice staff and superb breakfast options Big downside was the parking round the green was impossible, we ended up having to park a few streets away. The other major problem was that the outdoor of the pub at the front doesn't close until the pub does (plus drinking up time) so you won't be able to get to sleep until 1130 at the earliest.

Excellent property, lovely loft room extremely spacious with fully loaded kitchenette, perfect for young families and also excellent for dogs as there is a massive open space just opposite the pub. Great filling breakfast and very helpful staff

The room was in a separate building about 5 minutes walk from the hotel , and in the an annex to this building. Accessible from a courtyard which means when the curtains are open it is not private . Room was OK and comfortable, tiny bathroom. It was fine for my purpose of a single night, but wouldn’t want to stay for any length of time Expensive for what was on offer

Completely misleading listing. Room was far from the main inn, tiny, no internet, no hotel service, and water was leaking through the ceiling light — extremely unsafe. I had to walk to reception and was told to wait two hours for maintenance. Not a hotel experience at all, just an overpriced and dangerous outbuilding.

Not as advertised. Arch House is some way away from The Globe. No staff. Dirty carpets. Small rooms. Not maintained. No breakfast on site. Not able to get through to The Globe by phone. No reply to emails through Expedia. Full review on Trip Advisor with photos in room. Only saving grace was comfy bed. Clean linen. Waste of a lot of money for what felt like a hostel.

Ok so a Saturday night in Wells in June was never going to be cheap. But when you pay £250 for a room surely you should get better than this? Stayed in the Arch rooms to avoid pub noise and it was a small room with a small double bed, overlooking the main road so noisy, but can’t keep the window shut as no other air. Just a cheap B&B but… not cheap!

We was in room 34 over at arch house, the room itself was fine but was ground floor and noise from the room above was so loud , every footstep felt like it was coming through the ceiling. Luckily we was only there one night, because you couldn’t relax at all , struggled to get to sleep and woke up very early.

The room was lovely. On arrival at the property I immediately noticed we only had one cup for drinks. I immediately informed the Globe Inn and spoke to someone on the phone. They promised they would get someone to bring a cup to us, but it never happened. I found this service very poor.

Everyone at the hotel were really friendly and helpful. Great location, great pub, great service. The bar staff were particularly good and friendly. Lovely stay, would definitely recommend : )

If was asked to review this stay when we checked out, i’d have given it a 5 stars. Helpful and friendly staff and lots of communication prior to stay. Room was lovely and cosy and it was so nice they gave the dog a little bed/water bowl to use. I’d even called the front desk to say thank you for leaving a bed as that was a lovely touch. However about 2 hours after we checked out the next day, I then had a phone call to say we needed to pay another £25 for the dog. There was no mention of additional dog fees on hotels.com and I had also contacted the hotel prior to make sure we could bring the dog and whether we needed to make this a special request when booking. We were told we can bring the dog at no cost and the whole place was dog friendly so they could stay in any room available. This phone call demanding money was really unexpected and has tarnished our view of the hotel, hence dropping the stars. Personally I don’t understand how they can warrant charging this regardless as there was nothing extra they needed to do just because a dog stayed, it’s a pretty steep extra charge and was very disappointing they waited until after we had left to then land an extra unexpected charge on us.

Light batter and non greasy and tasted delicious! Great portions! Also had breakfast and again good selection. Service was excellent! Lovely location off the green and a 2min walk to the sea front with lovely shops in between! Stayed here before and would recommended to anyone to stay here!

Not so great. Staff off-site in a building (the Globe) over a mile away. No way to access room or into the building (Arches House). Long trip from the States to be left out in the pouring tain w my luggage. After trying to call and email, the maids finally let me in and they called the management who sent an email with all the access information i needed (key codes etc). Very poor first impression. Ate in the Globe for dinner that evening and waiter staff showed poor customer relation skills by arguing in front of me. Staff seemed oblivious to customers. Whole dining experience was a rush job. No real atmosphere. Food was average, steak undercooked and tough. Prices unreasonably hight considering size, quality and service. All this easily corrected with some leadership. To make matters worse, the bathroom window looked directly onto the roof terrace — and wasn’t frosted — much to my husband’s surprise when he walked in half dressed. In the bedroom, there was no fridge — which feels like an odd omission for a room at this price point. The noise level was also high, which made for a restless night. Breakfast was another disappointment. The black pudding was inedible, and serving streaky bacon on a British breakfast plate seemed an odd choice. The dining process was disorganised — we ended up in a bit of a disagreement with staff over “allocated” tables, which could easily be avoided by simply using table numbers. Pub is lovely, great atmosphere, outdoor winter seating was cosy and a real selling point. Staff were welcoming and accommodating. The room itself was clean and nicely decorated. It could have done with a more powerful shower. Slightly disappointed as didn't realise we would be staying away from the pub. We were waiting just over an hour to check in because our room wasn't ready. Booked in for breakfast for half 9, unfortunately by the time we had had our cooked breakfast we went to get pastries and fruit and it had all been cleared away. What we had was delicious. I would/will come back and nearly everything could have been solved with better communication.

I stayed at Arch House - a short walk along the road from The Globe itself. I enjoyed the quiet away from the hubbub of the pub and the refreshing walk to breakfast ... but that might not suit everyone.

We chose The Globe Inn for a weekend away in Wells-next-the-sea. The hotel was selected for its location but also based on available info online, particularly that relating to parking. I was therefore a bit disappointed to be informed that the parking details, outlined online, were not accurate - the parking described is not for visitors to the Globe, meaning that we had to park on a nearby green, which was busy with residents and other visitors or in a time limited (2 hours) bay or very expensive private parking in Wells. Otherwise, we had a lovely stay. Check in was easy, staff were pleasant and happy to look after us, facilities were clean, warm and comfortable. The food was excellent - we ate in the restaurant for both our evening meal and breakfast. Overall, a lovely trip. Just wish the info about parking had been more reflective. Thanks!

Lovely breakfast and great location

I was very disappointed to find, without any warning, that the dog and I had been put into an annexe about three quarters of a mile away from the Globe Inn itself. This in itself presented a problem as I find walking any distance a bit of a problem, but, in addition, the room I had been allocated was up some steep narrow stairs which was really impossible for me to negotiate, especially with a dog, her bed and our luggage. In the morning, I was given help, but I had to wait for nearly an hour for the housekeeping team to arrive, before I could leave. Furthermore, when we arrived there was no staff at the annexe. I was simply sent a series of codes by text which I had difficulty inputting, particularly when I returned from a concert after dark and I had to wait with the dog for a member of staff to come from the Globe to help me.

Great room in central location. Very good breakfast. Bar expensive as most pubs in wells are . Edinburgh inn round the corner where the local's go cheaper. All in all I would stay again in this hotel.

The Arch House is a distance from the main inn - not great if it’s pouring with rain. Free parking was a plus however.

A short overnight in Wells. The Globe was convenient for a Lunch at The Crab House-only a short walk through a delightful old fashioned seaside High St. Parking was easy and free around the Buttlands Green. Hotel staff throughout were extremely helpful and pleasant and the rooms were clean and although fairly small, well equipped with all we needed. The Bar worked well and Breakfast in a busy but well orchestrated setting was magnificent-quite honestly as good as I have had for some time. Scrambled egg was perfect, sausage and bacon tasty and presented perfectly. We will stay again.

What an absolute gem of a place! There's nothing like a fantastic breakfast to start the day and oh boy did we get it here . Also I had the fish and chips one evening and it has to be said it ranks along side the best I have ever eaten....Attentive staff who clearly know what they are doing . We have never stayed in Wells before but we will definitely stay here again when we return.

Lovely hotel in a beautiful part of the country. Room splendid as was the breakfast and the staff. Two things that disappointed. Firstly the room naming on Hotel.com was miss leading they called it deluxe which doesn’t exist. It was actually a small king. To be fair they upgraded us when I queried it. Second reason only giving 3 stars. They hardly had any vegetarian meals. My wife choose the pea risotto only to be told it had been removed. I wanted a steak but they had run out by 7.30pm. I then had the sausage and mash but the sausages were massively over cooked! If it wasn’t for the bottle of wine we were already half way down I would have gone somewhere else. I’ve stayed at several of the hotels in the group and always been so impressed so my expectations were high but in the end felt let down and disappointed which is such a shame as it’s a nice hotel!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The food was amazing, as soon as we'd finished our evening meal we were excited about the breakfast, and we weren't disappointed at all. Fabulous quality. All staff were friendly and helpful. Great place to stay, wish our visit was longer!
