We my friend and I found our stay very pleasant. staff polite, helpful and professional, we admired the grounds gardens the facilities were excellent and I was pleased that the outdoor pool was still opened for a swim even though a bit out of season special memories. Elizabeth Hiller & Victor

Great spa, modern and clean hotel and rooms.Fantastic breakfast. Not good for people with walking difficulties as on steep hill and lots of steps to spa and outside pools.

The pool is a little dated but the spa area was lovely and very relaxing

Absolutely amazing, will be returning again. Went for the hubby's birthday 4 nights stay. First day home and missing it already.. the spa is open from morning till 8PM and was much needed for us. My favourite was the steam room & outdoor pool. Lovely aromas in the spa, wicked views. Caught a lovely tan, we went at the perfect time! Fresh smoked salmon with breakfast everyday was the cherry on the cake. Thank you all :)

The facility is both a hotel and a spa. While we were there for two nights, there were two large conferences so parking was very difficult, but ultimately available. Places on a high overlook of the sea. The breakfast buffet was outstanding. The staff is friendly. The room is small, but very nice with all appropriate amenities.

It was my girlfriends birthday, we both really enjoyed our stay, the best part of all was the views, 2nd to none. The spa was great too, one thing we would suggest is to have a flavoured water station and herbal tea just like they had upstairs. We will definitely stay again. Adam & Calli

First hotel I've stayed in where you have to pay extra for a cooked breakfast. Large window in room was covered in bird poo.

Parking was good, the hotel was very busy so unable to use the spa area as people were queuing outside! That was disappointing! The lamps in the room were dusty and the shower screen was dirty. That was the only issues, loved the village, the hotel and the view from the room. We will return, when the hotel is less busy!

A truly beautiful location. Every single member of staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, with comfortable bed /linens etc. Breakfast was delicious as was dinner at Ogo. My only comment might have been that the main areas were a little bit tired but that didnt detract from a lovely relaxing stay.

We ended up here by accident after being double booked at another (unrelated) hotel. We were made to feel so welcome and looked after that we quickly forgot about the ordeal from the night before ! The room was gorgeous with stunning views. The hotel and spa were clean, staff were friendly, the food was excellent. We are so glad we stumbled upon this hidden gem and can’t wait to return!

Stunning hotel inside with views to die for. The basic rooms need a window clean as could barely see out of the glass and some black mold appearing but the hotel has a wonderful vibe and I will return.

A very disappointing stay. Service was poor and the exterior the hotel was unkept and tired.

Facilities were excellent as were the staff,the room was great and the housekeeping staff did a terrific job servicing the room whilst i was there. I was made to feel welcome - which was great being a solo traveller. I had an amazing experience with an oula massage and my thanks to the therapist. Only issue i had was with the food sevice in the bar area, my order was forgotten and i waited rather a long time for it to arrive, others recieving theirs despite arriving after mine was placed.

Mini break for 2.Hotel looks dated from the outside and weathered in some places.The inside of the building is ok.There is evidence of water leaks in some areas.The room is a good size and confortable.Bathroom had twin showers and was clean.The only point i would make about the bathroom is there is no shelves to put toiletries.The bathroom door opens against the toilet There is a fridge and tea making facilities in the room.We did not have particularly warm weather during our stay but the rooms were very hot even with the heating turned off.I suspect by the fan in the wardrobe the rooms are even hotter in summer months I thought the food and drink were expensive.If you have a child who is a fussy eater, the menu is restricted.We eat at the nearby Merryman pub-Food and drink amazing. The spa area was good and wasnt too busy when we went.Towels are provided.Do not take valuables to the spa as they do not provide lockers.They provide a basket with a zipped cover to keep your belongings in.The spa area was clean.Alrhough we had a great time i am not sure I would come back to this hotel.

Staff were great, professional but really friendly. We had a sea view room which was worth the extra. It was very comfortable, a good size , very well equipped but no balcony. Openable windows though. The hotel is located on a cliff above the beach with a short but steep walk down. The beach is sandy but is a surfing beach so can get quite rough and does have dangerous currents. The hotel is directly on the South West Coastal Path so good access for walkers. There is a regular local bus (no.56, bus stop opposite Bettys Shop in Mawgan Porth, 10 minute walk from hotel) between Newquay and Padstow. The spa facilities were good, steam room, sauna, jacuzzi, sundeck overlooking beach, small indoor pool and kids pool. Great sheltered outside pool with attached hot tub and sensory garden. We had half board, dining was good, lots of small dishes and very knowledgeable servers but the wine isn't cheap! Lots of small lounge areas. Car par is controlled so make sure you register your vehicle. There are a few very posh houses being built on the cliffs around the hotel so there is some noise but not too intrusive

We recently stayed here for 7 nights and were very comfortable in our room, amazing sea view, spacious + clean with a comfy bed, large bathroom & plenty of wardrobe space ... breakfast was incredible and the location of the hotel suited us as it was quiet - we had a car so didn't bother us that there was nothing immediately close by ... the one and only gripe we had from the minute we arrived was the reception which really let's the hotel down especially as it is a 4 star - don't know why anyone working on reception would need to be trained to welcome a guest, to know to stop chatting to each other if a guest has approached the desk, be in the least bit interested to interact ?!? First impressions are so important & after the initial terrible check in which was so lacklustre, every one of the 7 mornings that we passed reception to go into breakfast was equally as rude and nonexistent on the welcoming, stop chatting, acknowledging with a good morning as a bare minimum = literally ignored which was quite shocking really as over 7 days the desk had a number of different staff but seemingly all with the same attitude & lack of initiative or service! Breakfast, bar & restaurant staff were generally friendly and helpful. Overall a great stay for us but reception really needs addressing!

I would have loved to give it a 5 star review but the only thing has stopped me was there was no air con in the room just a fan pushing warm air arround the room. Other that that the view from our sea view was stunning.

Stayed 1 night in December 2024. Decent place, albeit tiny bathroom, and rather odd shaped room. It was very disappointing to discover that the buffet breakfast excluded hot food. It was an extra cost to have hot food.

Arrived to a lovely friendly welcome by the staff on reception. Room was very spacious, comfy and clean however we were in room 41 which was next to the lift. Which was quite noisey on a night. Hotel is lovely and the views from the Wild Cafe are amazing. Food in the Wild Cafe was gorgeous and staff will go out of their way to tweak a dish if needed. However i do think the menu could do with a couple of chicken dishes and a pasta dish on there. Slept well, bed really comfy room hot thankful rooms equipped with huge powerful fan. Really great powerful shower. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and lots of it we opted for the cooked breakfast. Not far from the beach the walk down is good but very steep in places however the walk back up is not for the faint hearted. We absolutely loved sitting out on the balcony to the bar watching the sun go down. Didnt get chance to use the spa facilities however hoping to return as we love the hotel.

The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Service really was five star. Breakfast is a healthy fresh treat and evening dinner was excellent.

Excellent staff.

Booked for special occasion and telephoned 2 months in advance but no record of this. Surly reception. Put in 2 box rooms with no air conditioning in hottest September on record with 2 large elderly dogs. At the prices charged such rooms are unacceptable. In fact they haven't emailed my receipt as agreed. Nice concept but hasn't kept up with the times. Building is in need of basic repair. Restaurant hugely disappointing both food wine and service. The cafe was probably better. Lovely location Great yoga classes

Staff absolutely brilliant

Fabulous position, great views. Complete lack of available information for guests. Reception weren’t in anyway unpleasant but on check in I was just handed a key and told which room. Once inside there is nothing other than basics about food and spa opening times, no offer to book dining times etc. The QR code takes you to a useless page where you click on spa, restaurant etc and from there you’re told to phone them or try and engage in live chat. We asked staff about menus and were told they’d be hanging on the wall somewhere else. Just smacked of minimal effort.

The location of this hotel is second to none. The sunsets are amazing. This was our second visit and we noticed more housekeeping issues this time than last time. Having to ask for things instead of things just being done automatically. We also had an issue with a restaurant booking we had made at reception being cancelled which was inconvenient and shouldn't have happened. Overall our last visit was a 10/10 and this was an 8/10 for those reasons. Would probably still return for the location and views and food. Food was excellent, that hasn't changed.

Location, Location, Location!... we asked for a room with a view - and we got one!...it was amazing!!

As always a really chilled long weekend. This hotel has a great atmosphere looking over one of the best beaches in Cornwall.

Such an amazing spot with views over the beach and cove. 10 minutes from Newquay airport makes it so convenient when flying over. Food is excellent, and service standards high. I'm not even cross they forgot our dessert order, which would normally frustrate me and might put some off. Rebooking as soon as I can!

View was lovely and easily walkable to the coastal path

Great hotel and we had a lovely stay. All good but astonished by the bar prices. Medium glass of house rose and a pint of lager..... £17!

This hotel is a 1950s building and it looks like one! There are prettier hotels in Cornwall but once you get over the ugliness the benefits to a stay here far outweigh that initial feeling that you’ve booked into a holiday park. I would avoid the standard rooms over the car park. They are a bit noisy but the actual room was great, with good bathroom facilities and really comfy beds. My tricky teen was very happy and enjoyed casting Netflix to the TV. The outdoor pool was also very teen friendly and the indoor pool was a big hit too. Easy to collect towels from the pool reception area and good changing facilities. The bar area was always quite quiet and we could find places to sit, mocktails were teen friendly and the cocktail choice was also good. Teen enjoyed the pool table and the younger children seemed to be making good use of the games room. We particularly enjoyed listening to the Cornish storytelling (from a safe teen distance of course…) We did eat at the hotel. Breakfast was busy and the service seemed a little stretched. Food was fantastic. Great selection of fruit, cereal and bakery produce. We also enjoyed the additional options which were £6 each. There were plenty of options at the beach and we strolled down every day to sample something different. The walk to the beach is steep and across sand, although there is an alternative path over the main rd and down the hill. The hotel is on the costal path and we enjoyed walks from the hotel each day.

All the staff we met were very helpful & seemed genuinely interested in us & wanting to make our stay as enjoyable as they possibly could. The cafe served excellent food and was reasonably priced but we felt that the restaurant menu wasn't particularly good. The view from our room was superb & the champagne breakfast delivered to our room was a real delight. We enjoyed our stay immensely & would certainly go again but will give the restaurant a miss next time.

We loved this hotel as soon as we set foot in the car park! Relaxed feel, very clean and had a lovely welcome! We used the spa during our stay which was amazing and relaxing! We dined at the wild cafe and the food was to die for however the service and the food was even better at the Ogo! Wow amazing definitely recommended the ogo! The buffet breakfast was amazing too so many tasty options and I am impressed with how the hotel is trying to be as sustainable as possible. Mawgan porth is such a lovely And peaceful area also and we will be back. Thank you for making our honeymoon amazing!
