Holiday Inn Express & Suites Rockport - Bay View by IHG

We have stayed here multiple times before when we come to visit Rockport, Texas. This time it was very bad, the hotel looks very rundown. Our room was not cleaned, I had to grab a vacuum myself from the cleaning room because that's how visible the crumbs were on the carpet. All counters were dirty, mirrors were smudgy and bathrooms/toilet were not cleaned, walls had hair on walls and the tub floor was black and you could still see the footprints from previous guest. Other than the bed was made and bathroom had towels everything else was dirty. Elevators were pretty bad as well. The pool water and outdoor area was dirty, we never saw a maintenance guy during our stay. My sister also had a dirty room, it smelled like wet dog. They did switch her room but the ac in the new room never worked. They had to give her an old fan. No one was ever at the front desk, you had to ring a bell and wait till someone came. I think we saw one housekeeper the whole time we were there. At checkout time we expressed our complaints to a young girl named Dahlyla that appeared to be new. She was writing down our complaint when the kitchen lady by the name of Alicia came and started to tell us to just email our complaints to the manager and to leave the girl alone. She told Dahlyla to listen to us for another 5 min at the most and told us that girl was busy doing desk work and didn't have time for us. She was extremely rude. Will not be staying here again.

Property is good and in a good location. There’s one elevator only and you might need to wait a while at certain hours. The push button for the elevator in the lobby was taped or it would come off so you have to push it carefully. The sink in our bathroom was clogged so we were washing out teeth in the shower. Other than that it was good.

Our first room had dog hair all over it in a light pointed straight into our room from the parking lot. I guess a storm or something knocked it up. The lady running the front desk was very rude and act like anything you asked her was a problem. I think she was the manager. The pool was green. The mosquitoes were just terrible. The grass hadn't been cut in a while. Cigarette butts everywhere And much more. Not what I expected for this hotel should not have the name should have been called Rockport mean mosquito tallgrass rude people inn

Everything was great for the most part. Had ants in the room but they took care of it right away. Staff very friendly. If you want your room clean you have to request it. Breakfast was fair. Pool was nice and clean. Great place for dogs. Would stay again.

We were there for our Anniversary and all though the room was clean, the tub was very shaking as if I was going to fall through the next floor. The bathroom also smelled like roach medicine and I get it, the humidity attracts them, but no roaches. The towels and blankets did not smell fresh at all but I always take my frebreeze. The breakfast option was not great at all. Maybe bacon, eggs, juice& fresh cereal boxes. The eggs were like powder and more sweetbread options, rather than fresh breakfast. It was no issue, we went to eat at the best Taqueria down the road. Parking gets full but still enough for all of us. Over all, the staff was all friendly and we will be staying again because it’s convenient to the Beach.

Need more handicap parking

Bathroom not clean, used bar soap from last guest left in shower , I had to go ask for toilet paper and body soap because they were out. I asked for a hairdryer because there wasn’t one in the room, which I did receive after listening to a lecture on how guests take them. I asked for room to be cleaned,Trash was not taken out and once again bathroom was never cleaned. For two days the halls had the same trash on the floor. Breakfast was good. I did try to reach out to the manager, but she was either already gone for the day or came in later after I had left for the day. The day before I was supposed to leave, the manager did call me because she couldn’t figure out which payment method was mine – at this point it would be useless to say anythingI will not stay at this holiday Inn ever again.

Restroom was dirty due of bathroom and they forgot to pick up someone else belongings (shampoo, soap and brush) and nothing was refilled and blankets wasn’t washed you can tell all make up stains and had a weird smell.

Tired looking inn. Rooms ok, but dirty in corners, old carpeting etc. Poor breakfast, out of things, even bowls for cereal. Dog that barked constantly

The room had a stench that came from the AC unit. There was hair in the bathroom and evidence of not being cleaned thoroughly. The main glass door resembled a meat freezer door ..cloudy because of poor maintenance. I will never stay here again. We requested house keeping and it was never done. I had to take my own trash outside. On

Check in was at 3 PM I came in at 3 and went to the room. The room was not cleaned and beds were array. Came down to the lobby and waiting for them to get the room make ready. I had to ask after 30 minutes if the room was ready or will be notified if it was ready. The front desk asked which room. They didn’t even pay attention to what room we were and gave an excuse for something different. Definitely not staying at any other Holiday Inn Expresses!

When arrived at room the toilet was dirty. I recommed more cleaning. Other things was good and the breakfast too.

Smaller property with friendly staff. The room was big and clean everywhere except the shower. There was some hair pieces and a dirty spot between the faucet and shower head. But the rest of the room and property seemed very clean. There is another hotel that blocks the view of the water.

The first room we were given was not clean. Looks like someone had laid down in a water bottle was on the table and then the second room was OK. The TV did not work. The shower tub felt like you were gonna fall through. It looks like it was coming on glue. I just did not have a good experience here at this hotel but I needed a place to sleep and your desk help in the morning. Acted like she just didn’t care look like she came from a club not a not wearing a proper uniform for the job. Check out Sunday morning.

Very nice staff, breakfast was really good and fresh, easy parking (free of extra charge) out room was a suite for 6 people wich was a nice room very spacious and clean

The room itself was ok. We had to ask for some of the shower items since they were empty upon arrival. (Conditioner and body wash) we didn’t have extra blankets for the pull out sofa just pillows and the mattress itself was very worn out and uncomfortable.

Very close to the beach, within walking distance if weather permited. What can be improved is shower head water pressure. The pressure was too low and it didn't feel like there was enough water to take shower. The breakfast can be improved too. Scrambled eggs and egg omelette were lacking taste. They appeared to be diluted with water.

Comfortable room, bathroom shower had no curtain, drain in center of the floor making it slippery. Rooms above and next door extremely noisy. Great breakfasts and employees.

Room and breakfast was good, only complaint I have is there’s no water views. You’re across the street from the bay, there should be some rooms with water views.

I was told that there were no more towels and that I would have to wait a long time for them. The person that checked me in was nice and the lady that made breakfast was nice. The people at reception were rude. When I asked for additional towels for my family of six, I was told at the front desk, “did you not get them yesterday?” Am I not allowed to take a shower daily? It was like pulling teeth to get service. I’ve stayed here multiple yrs in a row and the service is always terrible. They only make money because of the view of the ocean. If the ocean view doesn’t matter to you, don’t stay there

Staff was very courageous and professional. Breakfast was very good.

Staff was rude. Refused to give us our tax exempt. The shampoo, conditioner and hand soap pumps were not clean - clogged up. Power went out had to go to the desk then the desk clerk didn’t want to do anything

I did not stay, I was denied access to a bay view room that I paid for and booked into a smelling room on the second floor. When I approached the front desk to request a different room, the attendant refused. She also denied me access to the manager on duty. I immediately took my family to a different hotel where we were better received and appreciated. Anyone going here is making a bitter mistake. I'm still fighting them for unapproved charges to my credit card.

Great view and convenient location.

Check in was smooth and easy. It was convenient location for our trip. The room is clean and spacious. Breakfast was very nice, we especially enjoyed the eggwhite and veggie omelet and automatic pancake maker. The Rockport beach park is just across the street. But there was no easy crosswalk so we ended up driving over. Overall is a pleasant stay.

Room was ready right on time. Check in was easy. Pool was tiny but my girl liked it. Room was newer, bed was comfortable and it was clean. Breakfast was good with some hot food, fruit, and drinks. Real close to the beach and downtown shops.

We drove up for the Rockport Market in June. It was in easy walking distance although we drove over early to park. The facility is not brand new, but it's very clean and the breakfast was more than we expected with hot dishes and options for toast, pancakes etc. We'd stay there again. Didn't use the pool, but enjoyed reading my book there beside it in the evening.

Disappointed this time. We love Holiday Inn for the consistent experiences. This was different. The bed comforter had sand on it. It is the beach, but that is not good. The worst part of out trip was the horrible breakfast. The hot food items were cold (cold eggs, old cold bacon, cold/old omlettes- perhaps these were leftovers from the weekend?? Gross) and the pancake machine did not cook the pancakes leaving them doughy and inedible. Ruined all of our breakfasts. The coffee and cinnamon rolls were hot, but what a disappointment.

The hotel did not tell us on check in, but room is not cleaned unless you request. The bed was comfortable and the AC was reliable and fairly quiet. There were several small children on our floor who were very noisy until after 9:30 pm. Breakfast was ok, but no frills. No fresh fruit.
