The Cherry Tree

I have to say, I'm rather conflicted about this hotel. The pub and beer garden are beautiful with a wonderful atmosphere. Even the accommodation reminded me of the B&B my Grandma owned when I was a child, old, characteristic and well stocked. But sadly what let me down was the cleanliness of the rooms, the lack of general upkeep and the novice attitude of the staff. Now don't get me wrong, the ladies running the place were lovely, they just didn't quite seem like they knew what they were doing. The food was tasty and certainly had a freshness to it, my only suggestion here would be to provide more options. The Cherry Tree needs bringing into the 21st century, but oddly, I wanted to be the one who did so. I couldn't quite help but fall in love with it's potential. Visit: 5th - 7th October 2027

Great parking with some shade which was fab as I stayed during the heat wave in Jun26. The receptionist was very very helpful sorting out a non working fan. The bathroom needs a bit of updating. Comfy bed & friendly house keeping staff.

No breakfast but local co-op had everything. Close to my job and did the job. Might well be back in a few weeks

Single night stay, i happened to come on a night they werent serving food and pub next door wasnt either. The tv aerial needs fixing in room 3. Absolutely no tv channels would work. A lovely clean room and a good quiet nights sleep.

This was my third stay at The Cherry Tree and it is rapidly becoming my go-to when I need to stay over near Harwell. It is very conveniently located, the rooms are clean and surprisingly large. The pub itself has some atmosphere and the staff has always been really friendly. Amenities are basic as you would expect, but I think they provide really decent value for money.
