Lots of undercover parking at the hotel and nearby Coles complex. Check in was easy, friendly receptionist. Our room was generously sized with a larger than usual bathroom. Our room had a king bed and single bed. The king was very comfortable. The hotel has a big pub and restaurant - we dined in both and both were very good. The pub has a really lovely garden courtyard attached - nice to sit and enjoy a meal. Would happily stay again.

Our overall stay was good. The bed was super comfy and having the convenience of the pub for dinner was fabulous. My only criticism was the shower could do with attention. The shower head looked like it had never been cleaned and tile grouting needs a good clean to remove mould and discolouration. It was quite off putting.

The major issue with the property is mould in the bathroom and lack of cleaning. The mould is everywhere and it’s very disgusting to use the bathroom. We booked two rooms and when complained about the mould, they asked us to change the rooms but same level mould is present in those rooms too. When we complained about it again, they said it’s due to humidity they get mould. As a Queenslander, I am hearing this first time from a reputed hotel. Please use a mould killer or a proper cleaning agent and ask your housekeeping supervisor (if you have one) to inspect the property after cleaning is done. To my shocking, the cleaner opened the door with her key when we were sleeping in the room with a “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door. They didn’t do our bed or change the sheets. Usually I don’t write negative reviews but this is highly unacceptable for a reputed hotel. The restaurant food and service was good. The staff were friendly and the hotel is close to all the amenities. We were a regular customer to this hotel but I will not book into this hotel anymore as Cleanliness should be a top priority and it is not at the moment.

Unfortunately I was really disappointed when we arrived at the Colmsie hotel. We were staying there for a romantic night away and it was really dated and shabby. The Tv didn’t work properly. Overall just felt let down by the quality of the hotel. There were also splashes of something up the wall in our bathroom The bed and pillows were really comfortable though - great sleep!
