On entering room , it smelt pretty bad which is unfortunate because there really is nowhere to go or hide from a bad smell. I think it may have been the drains but everything else seemed to be ok. Definitely would look elsewhere first

When i went to my room dirty towel on floor in bathroom. Bin in the bath bathroom not emptied Check out time was 10 o'clock cleaners came around at 8.30 on Sunday. On the form in the room it says from 9 o'clock cleaners will start on Saturday & Sunday. Cardboard door to the microwave needs to be fixed

The hotel itself was fantastic and staff welcoming. Bed was comfortable and roon spaciaous with plenty of storage space. Down side, mould on ceilings, exhaust fan not working and full of dirt and dust, really difficult to fill the kettle for a cuppa.

We booked a 1 bedroom double story apartment for 5 nights. The apartment was very good, with a full kitchen, and was part of a hotel/pub and was well located, close to the beachfront. The only issue we had was when it rained (very heavily) the floor to ceiling windows had not been sealed properly, so quite a bit of water entered the ground floor lounge area. Staff provided towels for us to put on the floor, but it is obviously an ongoing issue for them. Apart from that, we had a good stay, and the meals at the pub restaurants were very good. Location-wise there was a large cinema opposite the hotel, and plenty of varied dining options just around the corner.

I have stayed here a few times its not cheap but generally ok its a 3 star at best but dont stay in room 4 no internet no free to air tv i got prime on, the bed was so saggy. The internet is not great but room 4 is dreadful such a shame great location but the rooms need some work for 200 a night.

I enjoy staying at the Waterloo Bay Hotel. I did find the self service check in a little confusing and not very personal. However, the room is so quiet, very comfortable and very good value. Every staff member I interacted with was extremely polite and pleasant too. I love the little patio outside the room and although it is close to the beer garden of the hotel we never hear any noise at all. Very enjoyable stay again.

Bad odour in unit. Possibly due to plumbing issues. No wifi in unit. Had to go outside closer to the office to use wifi. Good location. Handy to beach,train,shops etc.

The room and its location was very good. There were three problems. 1. Because of the way the power points were fixed to the wall, I couldn't plug in my CPAP machine. 2. I couldn't access the hotel wi fi. 3. There was no number provided for the duty manager.

No information on how to get your key to access the room as we were new to this hotel. Attempts to calls were unanswered but after 20 mins we got help from a lady on staff that actually wasn’t too sure herself but helped with gaining the Key via the screen pad on the door, which Wasn’t pointed out. Mould in the bathroom needs attention & the PowerPoint in the bathroom needs attention as both these are a health & safety ISSUES.

Checking was very clunky, self service not working and saying room not ready. Tried at bar, then bottle store then back to bar. Finally got room, funky smell in room so not really pleasant. Went for meal at restaurant, ordered with QR code as directed $35 with an expected 44mm wait. 1 hour later followed up as to were my meal was and was told they couldn’t find me that I had gone and had ordered for table 1, I order for 29. Asked for meal to be delivered to my room as I had a meeting online. Meal arrived and was pork, gravy and salad. Would have been lovely if I hadn’t ordered chicken. Salad and mushroom gravy. Was over it by now. Then just to top it off the rubbish skip truck turned up at 1.30am to empty the skip right outside the room. I left at 5am and have cancelled my booking for myself and work mate for next week. I’ll find something else

The room was ok, but for the whole week we stayed there was no interaction with anyone. Self check-in via a hard to find kiosk & not a staff member in sight through the day. We stayed 6 nights & the room was serviced once. The meals at the attached hotel were overpriced & overcooked & the bar staff couldn’t rate customer service as one of their strong points. We were disappointed & won’t stay here again.

Comfy bed. Garden behind the room needed some attention. Good varied menu in the pub. Nice to have a bottle shop so close. Had to wait nearly an hour for my meal the first night as I ordered online at the table but it didnt go through to the kitchen although the money was taken immediately from my bank account.
