Sandcastle Resort

Our stay was very relaxing and having access to an inside pool, outdoor pool, hot tub, and a private beach was great. The only downside to this hotel is the lack of air conditioning. The first night was so hot that I could barely sleep even with the fan that is provided and even if you leave the balcony door open for a breeze, the doors make a lot of noise when closing and people using the pools and talking is very noisy and will wake you up.

Property is a little outdated, but makes up for it with pools and beach access. Local shuttle is just across the street making trips to Provincetown easy and cheaper than Uber.

The facilities really need an upgrade. The carpet was stained, the cabinets were missing handles and knobs. The couch/pullout bed was awful. It was so old and stained and so saggy that it was nearly impossible to rise from. The hot tub was closed… it looks like permanently (that’s a disappointment) They really need to replace and upgrade the furnishings. That said, you can’t beat the quiet ocean front location and the indoor and outdoor pools are a plus. The team working here also is terrific.

The heat for the pool didn't work, the hot tub didn't work and the shuttle into town doesn't start until the end of June, even though I called to confirm and they said yes start's memorial weekend, I saw spiders, I booked two rooms pool studios and they gave me them in two different building

Overall we had a nice stay here. The room was clean and stocked with everything we needed. We all slept pretty well on the beds.. although there was a mystery stain on the side of one of the mattresses which grossed us out a bit. And the couch… lots of stains and very old, shabby and gross looking. The lobby on our floor(2) smelled of cigarette smoke quite often. We tried to do laundry and one of the driers was broken and the only other one took SO long to dry we had to put money in several times for it to finish drying. The indoor pool was great. The walls in there are falling apart..you can tell the place is old and hasn’t been updated in many years. The air conditioner in the living room worked very well! But the one in the bedroom barely worked and wouldn’t go below 66. We took the filter out and it was fully caked with dust so we cleaned it and put it back in. Still didnt work well but thankfully the weather was cool while we were there so it wasn’t too bad. The staff are all very nice. Our room was ready early which was nice. The walk to the beach was easy and the kids loved the beach! Great location. Super close to town and the shuttle comes right to the property parking lot. Overall we had a nice stay. I think if they did some renovations it could really be a wonderful place. If you’re looking for a great location and a comfortable place to sleep then you’ll be fine here.

This is the best swimming pool around and that is the most important to me right now.

Loved this property. The only con would be the TV's (brought kids), they were old. Loved the indoor and outdoor pools and private beach. We had a full kitchen, full refrigerator, double balcony suite. Will come back again. Wish I knew that they served breakfast but that was okay since we brought food with us. Everyone that worked there was friendly and helpful.

Indoor pool was great and we were very happy to see the hot tub had been reopened. We also enjoyed the meal at the onsite restaurant.

Only 2 cars per room that we were unaware of. Had multiple people traveling from different areas with different cars. Management allowed parking arrangements due to not being aware of the parking policies. No elevator during the summer, overall a good experience.

Small bed, no air conditioning, noisy people on the deck all night. Bathroom is small and dated. Carpeting is wet and moldy. Moldy smell In room moldy. Good water pressure and plenty of hot water. Showerhead is good. Beautiful views of the water. No elevator.

Checked into an unfriendly hostess. Was walked in by cleaning staff. who didn’t even knock upon entering. checkout was scheduled for 10 AM! was walked in at 9:25am while I was getting ready to leave. couch in the room was also covered in about an inch of dust. so I had to use my lawn chairs to sit.

Beach was completely un maintained and not as it appeared in the pictures. Our sheets had stains. Our mattress was stained. We pulled the couch bed out to find a toy car which means it wasn’t opened and cleaned in between guests. I was shooed away from the front desk when I told them about the stains and told to go back to my room and to wait for house keeping. House keeping came to our room and said the stains on the sheets were bleach ( blue blanket. White stain) and that someone spilt something on the mattress. Sprayed them both with bleach and sanitizer and had a bad attitude when we asked for new bedding. Oh and there were no coffee filters. Our screen to the door was hanging off when we arrived. They did fix that the next day. There were sign’s everywhere that said if you don’t do your dishes and put them away and take out the trash that you’ll be fined. Not worth the $ a night. Do not stay here

This is a nice location, with clean rooms. There is a murphy bed, which honestly was very comfortable, and it was nice to be able to fold it away. The room was very spacious and clean, and it is definitely a benefit to have a mini kitchen in the room. The kitchen is fully equipped to be able to make breakfast (stove, pans, coffee machine, microwave). We stayed in May which for us was great as the whole place was quiet and relaxed

The room wasn’t as clean as I’d hoped. There was some kind of sugar/salt on top of refrig that clearly wasn’t cleaned. Dust in all corners. We were nervous about the blanket on the bed as I doubt they change and clean them between guests so put sheets in between it. Wish they didn’t have a rug & just had a floor (to wash easier). We refused to walk on rug bare foot. The sink and shower were clean but the hardware and floor of the bathtub were worn. We stayed on 3rd floor looking over pool with a little beach view. I would not stay here again. The listing said 3 minutes from the center of town. You need to drive those 3 minutes. We thought we could walk. However, the free local bus took us so wasn’t too bad. Walls are VERY thin. We went in Sept when it’s slower but I could imagine in the heart of summer busy months, you would have a hard time sleeping in silence. Staff friendly, but not on site 24/7. Also, if you like to camp outdoors and sleep in a tent on the ground, then you’re prepared for the mattress here. I ignored the reviews but will say it was the hardest most uncomfortable mattress I’ve ever slept on.

Left hotel , excessive black mold in hvac, in two rooms immediately left after checking in, was only there for 15 min

I contacted the manager of the property and was told that they cannot help me with my issues because I booked through Expedia….. the place was dirty and had other people‘s hair all over the bathroom. The electric was outdated. The Murphy bed was old and not shaped correctly. Your feet were 8 inches higher than your head so you needed to sleep in reverse. The two days I was there the room was not cleaned. Staff was arguing outside of our door and the front desk did not care with my dissatisfaction. The room was not equipped with air conditioning, and this is typically a summer rental.

The view doesn't get any better in ocean front rooms. Close to the outdoor pool which was spotless and the rooms are clean and well stocked.

The room we stayed in was completely outdated. The bed frame was broken. Changing to the guest couch was not much better with a not so clean mattrass. The room has no air conditioning and was above 80 deg F. The little noisy wall fan was of not much use. If you have kids, the TV is the size of the average small computer screen. Overall the room experience don't meet price and advertisement at all. The good part, the location with a short walk to the beach and close proximity to Provincetown. Check in personal was very friendly. I could not make a check out experience as there was no person available. In overall not the best lodging experience.

The comfort of the Murphy beds were the WORST I have ever slept, oops I didn't sleep. The need to toss out ALL of those XXXXX beds!

Ocean view rooms are our favorite. It’s our 3rd time staying here and it won’t be our last. Hope to return in October!

Nice affordable hotel on the outskirts of ptwon. Only drawback is the building near the ocean doen not have air conditioning only the main building.

Bring or rent a bike if you’re planning to be in the area for ptown experiences. It can be dangerous getting back after dark so it’s also something to take into consideration. The bed is extremely uncomfortable and the building facing the water doesn’t have any AC. Be prepared to leave windows/doors open in the summer.

Ocean view room has beautiful view and you’re right on the beach. Great location. Plenty of towels and kitchen items. WiFi not good and pillows are lumpy and uncomfortable. Worth it.

Very affordable. Friendly staff at check in and cleaning staff. Quiet building the whole weekend. Transportaion to town available. We booked a small room but it still had a kitchen, table, a pull out couch and a murphy bed.

This property looked abandoned when we arrived. There was no one working at this hotel. The lobby was open but freezing, and no one was there for check-in. There were only four cars parked in the parking lot. This is not safe, and I left. I had to drive back 30 miles to find a place to stay for the night. I'm home and checking my credit card bill, and the hotel charged me for two nights. I am disputing the charges and taking the time to write a review. That is how scary that place was. Bonnie Mac.

From the start, the staff went above and beyond. Before my stay, I had some issues with my credit card, but they were very communicative and worked with me to get everything sorted out. During my stay, they made sure I had the room I wanted with a beautiful beach view. Their customer service is top-notch! I would definitely come back.

I’ve been staying at Sandcastle for many years, but this last visit was by far the most disappointing. Our room was in terrible condition! The bathroom had peeling wallpaper, a stained countertop, and a persistent mildew smell. The TV didn’t work, and the remote was so sticky that even after trying to clean it, the glue-like residue wouldn’t come off. The freezer in the mini fridge kept acting up as well. Overall, the room felt neglected and falling apart. Normally, I would have asked for a different room, but when you’ve already traveled all the way to the Cape and everything else is booked, what’s the point? Even if we had gotten a refund, it would have taken 5–7 business days to see the money, which doesn’t help when you’re already on vacation. To make matters worse, we accidentally misunderstood the checkout time. Instead of a polite reminder, the manager banged on the door like a SWAT team leader and screamed at my friend. I understand we inconvenienced housekeeping, but it was an honest mistake — the aggressive way we were treated was unnecessary and unprofessional. I’ve always enjoyed staying here in the past, which makes this experience even more disappointing. I hope management takes these concerns seriously, because as of now, I can’t recommend Sandcastle based on the condition of the room and the way we were treated.

In 3 days of staying they didn’t clean and organize our room

Amazing front desk staff and wonderful facilities. It was home away from home and such a lovely stay.

Front desk person was awesome I checked in 30 minutes early she was fun and upbeat. Location is just far enough outside of town not to be near the crowd but there is a shuttle as well as pedi cabs if you don’t want to deal with parking downtown.

No front desk open in the later evening hours .. there was a person driving around the parking lot at 3 am burning rubber .. heard girls fighting .. cops came the next day .. this is obviously a seasonal hotel and found almost no staff for overnight hours is not safe . The pull out couch mattress was not comfortable at all which most are not but this was like paper thin .. I personally wouldn’t recommend this hotel or stay again

Hotel was a good size and room was clean. Location was good. It was easier to get ubers to and from downtown. There was also a bus that regularly stopped if you're looking for a cheaper option. Would stay again.

Easy in and out of PTown. On the local seasonal bus line. Park the car and flag down the bus instead.

Not walkable to Commercial St and all the fun stuff BUT tons of parking, right on the beach, clean and safe. Not fancy by any means but a safe and reliable option a little further out from town

Sandcastle is close to the center of Ptown.

Wonderful stay! Ample parking & the view was spectacular! 8 min drive to commercial street and stores/ culture were close by.

The building is showing age and is in need of repair. Otherwise everything was in good shape and I enjoyed the breakfast option that they now have.
