Beautiful place run by a really friendly team. They've done an amazing job renovating the pub. Although the rooms are still to be done they were really clean, comfortable and had everything you need Amazing food and menu. Awesome full english breakfast included Best of all for bikers there is a good sized hard standing car park with no gravel, and security cameras set up. So bikes and cars are very secure I would thoroughly recommend staying here and we will definitely stay here again when in this part of the country

Very nice family run place, very pleasantly surprised. Great attention to detail, comfortable bed, spotlessly clean, and well equipped room. Nice spacious restaurant, well laid out and set up. Also importantly for us, dog friendly. Excellent Value, would definitely stay again.

I have stayed here many times and have never had a problem. Staff are always super friendly and very welcoming. You get a real welcoming ‘local pub’ feel when you go in. The bar area is really cosy and the food is fantastic-large portions and a good choice on the menu. Sunday roast is great too!! Rooms are clean, comfortable and have everything you need. An excellent place to stay so I would highly recommend.

The Malt Shovel Inn, is so clean and the staff are so obliging and friendly, nothing was too much bother. What more can I say about the food, all home cooked and the portion are large, when I say large I mean large, apart from breakfast the dinners were too much to eat. Absolute value for money, they are first on my list to book next time I have to go visiting family.

Our stay at the malt shovel was good ,we only spent one night there , food was lovely, the pub was lovely and quiet with friendly staff thst make you feel very welcome , our room was a nice size with tea,coffee ,water, biscuits provided , the bed was comfortable , room was clean with towels left on the bed ,will definitely book again .

Just a 1 night stay on the way to Cornwall. Great location as the village has lots of little pubs and restaurants too. Staff at the malt were helpful and the rooms are basic but good value for money with breakfast included.

What friendly staff!!! Everyone was so helpful and chatty. Lovely menu with daily specials, chef's specials and normal pub grub. Nice atmosphere too as it is down a country lane, but locals were eating and drinking there. Will stay there again the next time we are in the areaQ
