Great rooms and nice food. Was a little confused as to where reception was as just someone sat at the bar. Despite that, it was a very nice stay with well furnished room and some lovely coffee to go in the morning.

Lovely comfortable room with excellent facilities. Parking was tricky but managed to find a space on the road a short walk away (note: only one side is free parking). Food in the pub was lovely with a good selection.

Lovely little gem of a village pub with rooms. Beautiful decor and comfortable private rooms. Friendly staff and great location.

Good bar, good menu and food, helpful staff

The parking area gets very congested during evenings specially on weekends. The sink needs to modernise: still using outdated two tap water delivery....very cold and very hot!

The food was wonderful, I had the most amazing pie for dinner and a delicious cooked breakfast, the chef did an extra sausage for the dog too. The room was beautiful with a huge shower cubicle, all very clean and comfortable. The staff were all very friendly, and the bar and library area are very cosy. I would highly recommend it!

Arrived early afternoon on Saturday and got parked in the car park Went to the bar and was warmly greeted by 2 members of the team. Got checked in nicely, added breakfast to the bill for the following day, and walked to our room and shown both out of hours entrance and in hours entrance. Room was lovely, room 1, family room. Lots of wardrobe space, iron & board, great products in the room from toiletries to lovely ground coffee and biscuits. Had lunch there just before 3pm which was a lovely steak and ale pie, chips and veg. Top marks ! Very nice indeed. Service was great too. Went out for work and came back about 9.45pm and had some well deserved drinks before bed. Bar staff great and prices reasonable too. Lovely comfortable bed and good nights sleep. Then breakfast was amazing. Service a little below par to previous but food was amazing and well worth the money. Would easily stay here again

Had the most wonderful and memorable stay at the Fox & Coney Inn - it's not hard to see why guests rank this place so highly. Located in a charming, picturesque market town. Comfortable and well presented room and bathroom (with rain shower). Fresh coffee provided. Welcoming and warm ambience in the bar and restaurant and the food was outstanding. Parking either behind the premises in the dedicated car park or otherwise safely on the street. Didn't cost the earth to stay here either. Had an issue accessing the WiFi in the room (if there was anything to find fault with the place !). Will definitely be returning

Stayed here regularly for work it’s a lovely pub and restaurant too

Staff were friendly and helpful and the room was pretty nice although a bit dark. Biggest disappointment was the cleanliness or otherwise of the room. The sequins and fake rose petal that were clearly visible on the carpet showed it hadn't been properly hoovered. The bathroom could have been cleaner on arrival and after the room had been done the next morning the bathroom hadn't been cleaned again. As an FYI the road outside the pub is very noisy from early in the morning - not the fault of the pub - but unfortunately it is used as a rat run for HGVs on their way to York. It's a pity because the village is otherwise nice and quiet.

The property is lovely but our hotel room was the family suite, it was very dark, very dusty, no coffee filter, no spoons and no coat hangers for our cloths. Only one sink worked and the room was very dusty. The bedding had holes in the duvet cover and the duvet was ripped. Oliver the manager is lovely and helped out with certain things we needed. Overall it was a very expensive room and was not impressed at all.

I had quite high hopes for here as the photos suggest a certain feel and quality. For £154 for the night, that's what I was expecting. Check-in was smooth, staff were polite and friendly. We were accommodated in the restaurant despite our late arrival. Food wasn't anything special but very expensive for what it was: £93 for fish and chips, lamb shank, 2 dishes of 3 ice cream scoops, pint of Pepsi, pint and half of Amstel. The room looked nicely decorated however it clearly hadn't been cleaned properly in a while. Cobwebs near the tea making facility and on the radiator. Dust on most surfaces including copper bath, bedside table and lamps. You'd be anaphylactic if you had a dust allergy. The bin hadn't been emptied from the previous guests. A fan was supplied as none of the windows open, making the room very stuffy in the recent hot weather. The bathroom taps had areas of black grime/mould - in the pic. The shower heads hadn't been cleaned in a long time with evidence of orange mildew and limescale; black mould in the shower tray/grout/seals. Some wall fixings in the bathroom also coming away from the wall. The bed was comfortable at least but didn't dare check the cleanliness under the sheets after our sleep. Unfortunately all the above was noticed on the morning we were leaving. Was £247 for the above worth it? Definitely not. Even when I used my accrued £67 OneKeyCash rewards to lower the room price, I'd still say I felt ripped off.

The rooms were very poor dirty, cobwebs, kettle, cups had to be washed before using. Fan had dirty grime all over it. For the amount we paid for the room £260 for 1 night I could have gone to London in a 5* I will never stay at this property again.

The bed was absolutely one of the most comfortable and afforded a very good nights sleep. The breakfast in the morning was excellent and only had to ask for anything from extra tea to toast whatever no problems at all.

Room and venue was lovely. Room was small but especially well resourced for short stay with lots of amenities. I really liked its interior. We were in what seemed like a converted barn. Only minus side was that the only natural light came from one window that was overlooked by the pub window and entrance to the beautiful outdoor seating area, so moving around in a towel post shower and using hairdryer (that was at the window) all felt vulnerable and exposing. Breakfast was £16.50 a head and in honesty was the worst I’ve had somewhere. Served by a young staff, we were asked what time we’d like to be served and chose 8.30am. Orders weren’t taken until 8.45am and another half hour later an overcooked full English arrived. Half the items were hardly edible due to their brittle and oil soaked nature. It all took so long we were pushed for time on leaving. Staff were so young and nervous, it all felt unfair to complain. I’d stay again no problem. It was a genuinely lovely atmosphere, gorgeous and private room, but I’d skip the breakfast.

Had a free upgrade and the room was gorgeous, amazing bathroom and super comfy bed.

The in room provisions were exceptional massive towels and unusual drinks shower was massive and very good for my age!!

Lovely room, really enjoyed the copper bath in the premium room. We had a meal in the pub on the evening which was gorgeous. Staff were great too. Would absolutely stay again!

The hotel was lovely and the room was perfect. The food was delicious, unfortunately the only issue was the traffic noise and the windows didn't open up very much.

Great service, breakfast, staff and manager very professional and friendly. Lovely interiors and when I left my glasses and a button they sent it to me that same day and I received it in the post the next day. I would strongly recommend this hotel.

The staff and friendly and evening meal was very good. Breakfast was very good. The chef and the waitress provided us with a very good packed lunch. So this establishment is great if you are doing the Yorkshire wolds way walk.

I stayed here last week, as a solo female customer everyone made me feel really welcome and I felt really safe. The service is amazing and the room was the loveliest I've stayed in while visiting South Cave!

A great place for an overnight stop, has character and nice staff. The only downside, which the property can’t do anything about, was the external road noise from passing traffic.

We loved the hotel our room was excellent, we thought the traffic noise would be loud overnight but it didn’t keep us awake . The bed was wonderfully comfortable. I loved that there were electric sockets right by the bed so I could plug in my phone.Our breakfast in the morning was wonderful and extra water for tea and coffee for my husband were no problem .

It’s a great quirky place. Busy road and a bit of noise. But a great location.

Had high expectations from photo. Room felt gloomy, dingy and poor quality for the money. Food good, but pricey. Wouldn’t stay again.
