A really impressive building - we’ve passed by before and always hoped to stay here. The building is quirky and has so much going for it… probably several £££ million to bring it up to 4* standards, but the staff were super friendly and the room we were assigned was brilliant and had lovely views over the port. Also accommodated for our dog which was really appreciated. The restaurant served a great dinner too and the Scottish breakfast gave us a cracking start on our onward journey. Thank you !

Beautiful building and lovely view across the ferry port and across the water. Lugging a suitcase up stairs was a bit difficult as there is no ramp or lift.

This is an old building and the current owners have taken the time to do it up where listed building limitations allow .. it has character and whilst there was issues with booking system which appeared to have caused issues during check in for other guests, our booking was ok. The staff from front of house to house keeping are absolute gems ! So friendly and chatty could not do enough for you making your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible! Very handy location and beautiful walk into town. Dunoon is a lovely place for a short break with lots of bars and restuarants to choose from at reasonable prices. Thank you to all the staff you made our trip 😊

I wanted to share how pleased we are with our stays at the Royal Marine Hotel. This was our fourth visit, Jackie and I are returning again this weekend and once more next month, which speaks for itself. The location is perfect for us. We can park the car and head out for the day without any hassle. The staff are always friendly, welcoming, and helpful, and the rooms we have been allocated have been excellent on every visit. We have thoroughly enjoyed each stay and look forward to returning again.

It was an interesting place to stay. It’s a listed property that is being renovated as allowed. We had a good sized bedroom but with noisy floors in the bathroom as well not too keen on electric showers but eventually got water at the right temp. Breakfast started off being a challenge as there was nothing we wanted but we had a conversation and someone went shopping so all was well for the three days we were there. The hotel must have been a really grand building as a lot of the original features exist still . The dining room has recently been decorated and is a very pleasant place to be. We only ate there once and the food was enjoyable. Parking available on site and across the road the ferry to Gurock so very convenient. Close to Benmore botanic garden which is great and about 50 mins from the castle of the Dukes of Argyll well with visits
