Ok... great stay but a few thimgs contributed to losing that 5th star... the room, great but the privilege junior is massively overpriced. The spa needs some remedial repairs, also, weird as hell to have to get changed and walk down a hallway to the spa, pool etc where people are walking in shoes, worse coming back wet. Service in the spa wasnt great but the chlorine was exetremy high in the jacuzzi particularly, both our eyes are in porr shape yet no staff to complain to. Food was excellent although service was like 2 different hotels between friday and aaturday nights.

Staff on the desk were generally friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, I had a drip coming into my room through the ceiling and was moved after my second night.... the second room also had a drip from the sink waste pipe. The shower gel holder fell off in the middle of the night and the room's only window looked out onto a corridor (noisy and just plain weird). Both rooms were very hot (at least the window in the first room opened). From a personal point of view, I found the mattresses too soft and the pillows an awkward height. The on-site restaurant's menu sounded good but I was left disappointed each time. EV chargers in the carpark were available and all worked while I was there.

When i arrived the room wasn't clean so had to get a different room. The receptionist tried to charge me for the room even though I had already paid and also told me i had to pay for breakfast even though that was part of my package I bought online. The room was very hot with no way of cooling it down and the bathroom door lock was on the floor broken. Overall i fairly poor experience.

We booked this hotel for a one-night stay on September 13, 2025 . Our experience was shockingly bad. · Room was dirty on arrival: The bathroom bin was full of previous guests' disgusting waste. The toilet seat was also loose and broken. · Extremely noisy: Room 316 is next to the hotel's loud chimney and extractor fan. The constant mechanical noise, plus loud music and people shouting, made sleep impossible. We have video proof of the noise. · Worst customer service: We called reception multiple times—no one answered. We had to go down in person to complain. The staff did nothing for over 2 hours. When we complained about the noise, the receptionist offered a refund and told us to leave at 8 PM instead of helping. This was the worst hotel experience we have ever had. We do not recommend this hotel to anyone. Avoid Room 316 at all costs.

Our stay was a continuous, frustrating saga involving three different rooms, none of which met basic standards for comfort or cleanliness. The initial room was incredibly dated. The mattress was so old that it completely collapsed the moment I sat on it, making it impossible to sleep comfortably. The bedding was also stained with dirty marks so clearly the cleaning was not up to normal standards. Adding to the discomfort, the radiator made an awful, disruptive banging noise as soon as I entered the room and didnt stop regardless of it was on or off. We immediately complained and requested a move. We were moved to a second room which, while slightly less dated, was noticeably grubby. The most disappointing aspect was the "King Bed," which was clearly just two single beds pushed together with a seam running down the middle. This is unacceptable for a hotel room advertised as having a king-size offering. We asked to swap rooms again, but the receptionist insisted the hotel was fully booked and there was no other rooms. It wasn't until we pushed for a refund that the situation magically changed. The receptionist contacted the manager, and suddenly, an "upgraded" room became available. This room was visually much more modern, but its appearance was entirely superficial, it was filthy. The final, and most disruptive, issue was the constant noise pollution. Every single time a toilet on our floor was flushed, we were woken up by a loud, horrendous banging and gushing noise.

Cracked bath and bath panel, a shower that fires water past the bath, past the sink and out of the bathroom door, you can’t put a straight shower head on a bracket that you can’t angle down, it doesn’t work. Room was dated and just felt a bit grotty. Not worth the price they charge.

The hotel is very dated and other than the food there wasn't much to shout about. The restaurant was very good from menu choices to food presentation and taste. Breakfast was good but expensive for what it is. The hotel room was very dated, creaky floors and doors, king size bed actually two single beds pushed together with a rubbish topper so you can feel the joint. Broken shower didn;t help in the morning either.

This is a “get-away” hotel with a golf course and spa facilities. A car is needed to get anywhere away from the hotel for shopping or other entertainment. It worked for us as I could play golf while my partner was in a four-day workshop. Very nice golf course with club and trolley rental. Staff at the golf course provided great service. Service at the one restaurant was not so great in the evenings. Compared to some other hotels in Newcastle, the breakfast buffet was disappointing for the same costs. The “privilege” room provided a nice view of the golf course and was comfortable except for poor lighting in the bathroom made it difficult to apply makeup or shave.

Some rooms don’t have AIR-CONDITIONING, and this was not clear on the advert. Also, they don’t CLEAN/ NEW TOWELS/BED SERVICES (HOUSE KEEPING), unless, stying over 3 nights!!! Extremely over priced!!!

Whistle stop visit for one night - stayed here quite a few times! It's a good hotel although the lack of aircon in the rooms can make them a tad uncomfortable in summer months and even in freezing outside temps my room was roasting. That said the staff are pleasant, the room was clean and in good condition and the hotel has EV points which is a great bonus.0

We booked a room which inc breakfast each morning. Every morning we were told by staff breakfast is extra £17.40pp Had to go through same argument daily of paying £35 then getting this refunded at reception as they would not correct the records. Witnessed 10 other people suffer the same fate. Awful way to start the day , not relaxing at all. The breakfast itself was not even worth it. Very poorly ran, constantly running out of everything from plates to eggs, juice etc. Constantly waiting for things to be filled as staff are not proactively monitoring everything and wait for customers to tell them before acting. Staff have a completely slopey shoulders approach to complaints, always just blaming another dept for errors. They managed to lock access to our rooms 1 hr before check out (for us and multiple other guests) Feel like I spent more time at reception than enjoying our time away. Urgently need new management team - completely ineffectively ran. The small terrace we had has clearly not been cleaned in months. Bird poo all over the railings, filled with old leaves and masses of cobwebs all over the door frame. Service completely ruined our stay

Terrible service at reception on arrival. Got downgraded because of «overbooking». No compensation offered. Much noise, terrible service, and disapponiting facilities. All at a high price. Supposed to stay for two nights, left after one. Stay clear.

Can lack friemdly face and twice ive had staff walk off from bar to deliver a drink or food without a courteous "Give me 2 mins and i will be right with you" etc. Feels rude. Also lack of attention by staff leaves guests waiting for menus and then once food arrived (steak & chips) they forgot chips !!. Poor attention to detail. No cider as sold out day before & other drinks i heard. Guy sat next to me ordered a pint 10 mins before food arrived and it turned up 45 mins later at which point he'd already finished food and chased staff for said drink so ended up with another. Really need a smile and better communication.

The hotel was in a good location for us. Only minor issues were large puddles on some footpaths. The gator 4x4 had left mud across some public footpaths making them difficult to traverse for my elderly parents. Staff were friendly and most helpful. Overall would stay again.

Hotel room was nice we were there for a xmas do our partners came and had made reservations for the restaurant while we were in the party they were told they could not serve food until the 3 partys had been served so they had to get in a taxi to go for something to eat they arrived back at 10 got a drink in carter and miler pub and wete told they had to get out as were closing this was 10.15 there was no other bar to go to as there was 3 other functions on no bar for the hotel guest the young bar man was also rude rolling his eyes and saying it was the higher managment very poor service lots of people walking out the restaurant when they were trying to get food not good enough for this hotel spoke to reception and they said manager woukd ring no calls tho
