The Baan Manali is an excellent resort for the price. It's on a lovely stretch of beach, they serve up amazing food and drinks, wifi is excellent and staff are very friendly. The rooms are a bit dated, but this adds to the charm of the resort. You won't find many good restaurants nearby, but this is the case in most areas and a scooter hire is almost essential in Koh Phangan if you want to explore the island and restaurants.

The place is absolutely disgusting. It smells like sewage in the room. We booked a different hotel and left after 1 hr. They would not refund the next two night. Not even partially. Shame on the hotel and shame on hotels.com.

This was the last of our stays after visiting four different islands in Thailand. This property was beautifully maintained with great views and pool right on the ocean. It lacked the arrogance and pretense of other beautiful resorts and felt entirely comfortable and welcoming. I will be back!
