We enjoyed our recent two night stay while visiting family. The hotel is very nice. The staff were friendly, the room was clean and comfortable. It's situated just off the M58 about 5 mins from the M6, on the edge of an industrial estate with no local amenities within walking distance. The bar area is good with a well stocked bar and a good selection of bar snacks. We would have given a 5* review if the second night hadn't been spoilt by other guests shouting, banging doors and throwing things between 2:30 and 4am.

So we have history with this hotel, are used to say that all the time and probably hated majority of stays. but time moves on and so does what I want for hotel so basically it’s different now than it was for five years ago itself is functional but large rooms the beds are divinely comfortable TV et cetera are all good so from the room point of view 10 out of 10 is the bar area is shabby, old-fashioned , without being quaint. And the choice at the bar is pitiful. I understand that some people inexplicably like lager that’s okay but not six sort of lager. It’s all the same . That wouldn’t have been so bad if there was a few real Ale, a few credible draft bitters but there’s nothing. this is becoming more of a problem as I wanted to spend the evening in the bar with a couple of beers and chill out. I couldn’t. the whole experience for me was subpar for a decent bar. As a disabled person the access is really easy. The staff were very helpful but not too helpful. The breakfast I missed because it’s too much to eat and it’s £12 or so too expensive. The meals were okay, I suppose but I didn’t eat them because I’m a vegan and there was no vegan options. I could see other than the veggie burger. In summary nice place to stay and sleep only, but for a meal and a bit of ambience, poor.

Lovely to look at in older parts of the buildings. But due to their heating system you could not turn off heated towel rail in bathroom, so the room was always far to hot.

The hotel is really nice, the only drawback was there is no air-conditioning and no fans in the room, I did stay on probably the hottest day of the year, opening the window only gave loud traffic noise. Overall the hotel is very clean and well presented.

The staff are this hotels biggest asset. Everyone we came into contact with, in every deoartment, were all helpful, smilling, willing, hearing and reactive instantly when an issue was raised. I.e. no USB ports, they charged our phone while we had breakfast. A hairdryer dud not work, a replacement was delivered in minutes. Food was delicious. The breakfast is excellent value for money, all you can eat, hot cold buffet. Hot drinks and toast brought to your table. Ideal link to motorways in the area. The great hall is amazing. Down side is minor. The aporoach to this 1790 building is through an industrial estate. Nit tgat you notice noise etc once in the building.

Easy to find, good car parking and friendly staff. Our double room was very dusty, and tired loooking, in need of a good spring clean and a lick of paint. We stayed 2 nights and had we known how small the bathroom was, we'd have gone for a suite. Two people cannot be in it at the same time. The bath towels were awful, old and rough but handy for exfoliating your skin! On the plus side it was a comfy bed and pillows with clean soft sheets. We ate at the restaurant, and had the garlic mushrooms and tart starters. Followed by salmon and tuna mains. All were tasty and would recommend them.

A listed building providing facilities for functions. Some bedrooms are in the original building with old beams etc. Other bedrooms are located in adjoining annexe building. We had a mini suite which was spacious, had a large double bed, sofa, table with 2 arm chairs. Ensuite walk in shower, wc etc. Lighting was a bit gloomy but the room was very comfortable. Good dining options, buffet breakfast was very good with hit and cold choices. Staff were friendly and attentive. Free parking in the hotel grounds. Gardens were pleasantly maintained.

It’s a great hotel, but so noisy. The walls thin, so other guests talking could be heard & the water system so loud, constantly woken up through the night.I’m a best western member but won’t stay at this location again

Fantastic hotel, great staff all through all areas reception, bar, restaurant etc. But check what ingredients are in the food! I asked for tuna on the pizza and it was actually tuna mayonnaise?? Rooms are nice, clean amd comfortable but if you have a noisey neighbour upstairs unlucky.

Room was lovely and clean although a bit warm and we couldn’t open the window as we had a row of bins in front of it, we had a family room a single bed which had a great mattress but the double was very soft( too soft for us ) plenty of tea and coffee could do with a fridge other than that we had a lovely stay. All the staff at the hotel our amazing very polite and nothing too much trouble. Would definitely stay again.

Don't be put off by the fact that it's on an industrial estate! Excellent service, happy and efficient staff, comfortable rooms and excellent breakfast. The grounds outside have been cleverly landscaped to disguise what's beyond.

Lovely hotel boyh inside and its outside garden. Staff really excellent bar restaurant and reception. But oh dear the surrounding industrial units and approach to the hotel a total disaster- even with my satnav I took three circuits before i found the entrance. One inside the drive faultless.

Had a nice overnight stay. Comfortable room. Beware the bar in the shower if you're tall - you'll know what I mean when you encounter it. Breakfast was good but some items a bit undercooked for our taste. Overall a pleasant stay. Would use again.
