Days Inn Stafford

We stayed here so we could visit Alton Towers, Anfield Stadium and Trentham Monkey Forest. It's not the most glamorous place but it was a good bargain (part of the reason we booked it) and very conveniently located for the places we were going to. And what it lacks in glam, it makes up for in the warm welcome we received: the staff were so friendly! Also, you can buy food vouchers at reception to spend in the services (McDonald's, Costa and a noodle place). You get a 25% discount, so buying a £10 voucher costs £7.50 and two vouchers (£20) costs you £15. We had breakfast at McDonald's and Costa before heading out for the day. We only really slept at the hotel - the beds were comfortable and we had all we needed: bath & shower, TV, tea & coffee facilities and a hairdryer. AND it was surprisingly quiet considering it's located at a service station on the M6! We heard no traffic noise at all, so rested really well. The services are quite small compared to some others (WHSmith, Chozen Noodle, McD's and Costa - maybe 1 other place, I can't really remember!) but they're clean, fairly quiet (people) and nice. Also, you can't beat the northern hospitality!! Highly recommend but don't expect a really modern place. If you're looking for a base to explore from and a warm welcome, you can't go wrong. We were approx 40mins from Alton Towers, 10mins from Stoke and approx 1 hr 20mins from Liverpool for information.

What you would expect from a hotel in a service station . But nice and quiet and dog friendly. To the side of the shops .

Friendly staff. Clean very reasonably priced and dog friendly hotel. Just what we needed to break our journey.

Easy free parking. Welcomed with a smile. Easy check in and right next to the services to be able to grab some food. Room was very clean and had everything we needed, I had a nice bath. The bed was very comfy and the room was a great temperature unlike lots of hotel rooms which I find absolutely boiling during the night! Great value for a night passing through!

I liked the fact that they take dogs! The Inn was clean, felt fresh & tidy. The staff were friendly. The dog-walking area was excellent. The only snag was that I found it difficult to find the allocated parking spot for the Inn in the dark. Myself, and others, parked in the general area and then enquired at the Reception desk, which then registered our cars for free parking - but it was a concern when I arrived. Otherwise - I shall staya there again with pleasure.

As a dog mum there was a area you can walk the dogs safely

The room was very clean and comfortable and very good value. But! The man at reception had the grill down at his desk and passed the key to me through the holes, so he obviously didn’t feel safe, and yet guests had to walk between trees and bushes in the dark to get to the front door, because the bulbs had gone in all the nearby street lights. This really should be sorted out, not acceptable.

Wonderful dog friendly hotel. Our room was massive as was the bed. We also had a sofabed which we covered with our dog blanket. There were even dog treats in reception, which our puppy kept sniffing every time she passed by. I would definitely stay here again.

Staff were brillant , its a shame about the the room as this was damp and smelt damp, wall paper peeling from the walls, carpet was dirty, food not good as only Macdonalds in the service area, parking area was good.

The room was terrible! Mould everywhere and a filthy carpet - it looked like it had been flooded previously. The receptionist however was lovely and one of the best examples of good customer service we have ever come across. She couldn't do anything about the room as it was fully booked but was very apologetic and gave us some meal vouchers towards dinner and breakfast. The cleaner was also very nice and gave us some extra towels and bedding.

Surprisingly clean, quiet and comfortable stay after reading some negative reviews. The room was quiet and the beds comfortable. Everything well stocked and the staff very helpful and pleasant.

Run down, tired. Old lumpy bed. Poorly repaired decor. Smelt bad. Hairs still left in bathroom. Felt unclean. £85 for the night. Not good value for money

We couldn't fault the welcome and check-in. The room was spacious, spotless and had everything we needed. Very comfortable beds, plenty of hot water and an efficient shower. No noise from inside or out, so we slept very well. Will definitely book again if we're in the area.

Staff was very polite, but the overall cleanliness of the Rom, sheets and bathroom was terrible. Didn’t even risked to take a shower and slept dressed as the sheets were stained. I will never stay there again.

The room was clean, there were shops near the hotel to buy food. The staff were lovely and very accommodating.

Staff great. Location great. Discounted food vouchers great. Comfy beds & nice hot shower. However the room that you sleep in was dirty. The carpet filthy. Nail clippings & thick dist throughout the room. Furniture & skirtings

Clean room east check in.

The room (29) absolutely smelt of days old stale pee … it hit you as soon as you walked through the door it was unbearable ( and I live on a farm !) However service was good and I was transferred to another room , this did have an old dog bowl under the bed with bits of old meat in it , but rather than complain to the poor lady on reception I just chucked it in the bin …. Cleaning needs seriously looking at . Service was good from the lady on reception

Very damp room, small double bed, and it’s very hard and uncomfortable, woke up with such a bad back I can hardly move today. Friendly woman checked us in. That’s the only positive , lots of insects flying around the room which we had to kill before bed or take the risk of being bitten. Won’t stay again. Wasted a lot of money for well over double what you’d pay for a traveled which is 100% better and that’s saying alot really

Average stay this time. Basic room. Sofa bed was not made up on arrival however the receptionist was very helpful with this it was very comfortable but unfortunately double bed was solid

The lady at check in was fantastic. So friendly and bubbly and helpful The room in itself was a good size for a family of 3 but it was pretty tired and it hadn't been cleaned the best. The beds were clean and comfortable enough We were giving a room right above the entrance door and when we went to bed the room was very noisy every time the automatic doors opened and closed

Great wee room does need a wee bit hoovering done but bed sheets clean and bed is comfy I stayed in room 2 got a awesome sleep the lady who was working those two night was so helpful and such a lovely lady she helped me both nights Fri and sat. I went to get breakfast from McDonald’s the both mornings and had plenty snacks in room. We took our fire stick with us and watched a movie on the sat night and Wi-Fi worked brill

Clean, comfortable, safe, and surprisingly quiet for a motor service area inn. Staff were attentive and helpful. Rooms could use some updating, like maybe some outlets near the bed.

A basic but very clean and comfortable hotel. The lady on reception obviously loves her job, she was so friendly and helpful. McDonald's is next door for food. Will definitely stay here again. Oh and a message to management, give that receptionist a pay rise!

Staff were brilliant, needed an extra fan and pillows which they happily got. Room is basic but clean and has everything you need, for the price its great. You cannot hear the m6 with the windows shut.

Excellent value for money and super friendly staff. Thank you to Vicky, who was exceptionally helpful. Although an older hotel, the room was huge and the bed very comfortable.

Arrived late (11:30 pm). The member of staff who checked me in was a pleasure to deal with.

Reception was like booking into a prison. Arrived at midnight, and the receptionist sat behind a grille so everything had to be at arms length. The room was grubby, carpet could do with a damn good clean. Shower a waste of time, you needed to get right up to the wall to get wet. At least the bed was comfy for the 6 hours we slept in it. Fortunately this was a one-off stop, never to be repeated.

I was given 2 single bed room and thats not what i booked. I went to reception to query it and there was nobody there. Waited half an hour, phoned, pressed the buzzer. Had to give up and go to sleep

The room was very clean. More importantly thoigh were the staff, the receptionist was so friendly and helpful. She saw i used a walking stick and reallocate d us an accessible room.
