The Countryman’s Inn

Stopped over on my way travelling back home. Pub was busy on this Friday night, but staff were on hand to welcome me. Very friendly manner and most helpful. As I arrived a little later than planned, I just made it in time to get my food order in, which again the staff were very helpful to assist. I had their steak and ale pie, which was very good and I would certainly recommend this. I overheard a conversation while eating that the person who cooked the food doesn't like to call himself a chef as he is not professionally trained. Well all I can say is I really enjoyed it (and his breakfast the next morning). My room was spot on. I had driven almost 350 miles that day, so needed a bed that was comfortable and I again I wasn't disappointed. While I could hear the noise from the bar below, that was fine. After all its a pub and that's why earplugs were invented. I slept really well. All in all, would I stay again? Yes. Would I recommend this to other? Most certainly. Thank you folks at The Countryman's Inn.

Perfect choice for my short stay. All staff were cheerful, friendly and helpful. Would stay again.

Pet friendly, good beer garden , with access to open fields to run the dog, decent pub grub , decent breakfast , lovely village location

A fantastic bar with excellent local real ales and very good food. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and good sizes . I had a very good stay.
