The hotel itself was amazing. Very clean and friendly environment. The breakfast was good and staff was great and hospitable. The only issue we had was that the pool was closed. They didn’t say why but that’s one of the reason we go to The Hampton is for the indoor pool my kids love to swim so that was disappointing.

This trip was an impromptu trip to Carlsbad Caverns with my grandson. Your hotel was a perfect pick. Pool, fitness room, buffet breakfast and free guest laundry room. They even baked cookies nightly from 5-7. Service was excellent as well

The rooms were great- lots of space in the rooms and nicely updated.the pool was a good size but a little bit cold. The hot tub was closed which was a bummer, however the kids were happy with pool. Plenty of pool towels and they were always warm because they sit in the sun! Front desk staff was very accommodating and even gave us a different room than originally assigned so we could be on the same floor as our family.

The lobby was nice, and the gym was pretty big for a hotel gym. The room itself was not as great, bathroom in particular. Both sink & shower faucet handles were really loose, about to fall off. The bathroom door wouldn't shut all the way without forcing it, and the door itself seemed unlevel -- so that it always slowly fell back into the closed position. The room & bathroom were more spacious than a standard 2 queen room; high ceilings. Would not stay again though.

We chosen this spot as a 2 night stay so we could visit Carlsbad Caverns. What a great location. Short drive to the park. As for the amenities everything was top notch for an older building....and so so clean. I dontoften tip the cleaning staff byt I did this time. Leo at the front desk was amazing and helpful. We needed supplies for our road tri and Walmart was right next door and walkable. Diner two nights in a row at the Chinese Buffet 5 min walk. Was.a.little sad that the hot tub was out of order but thesethings happen. Breakfast at hotel amazing both days. They also put out cookies at night. Coffee always seemed to be on and hot.

Hot tub was empty and not working. No view out of our window because it was blocked by the Hampton Inn sign. Pigeons loved the space between our window and the sign and let us know how much they did around five in the morning.

Property was great for our overnight for the Caverns. Which are about 30 away. Decent breakfast that’s included with your stay. Rooms are as expected, as far as size and amenities.. Some random things were off putting, but nothing major. Like our room entry door was pretty dirty, you can tell the room has been well used. Normal wear & tear. The entire Pool area could use a scrub down. But, like I said to be expected. Overall the staff was very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast filled our bellies and we made the most of it. * This was a sold out hotel when we stayed. So we were grateful to have a room.

The room was clean but as soon as you walk in it has an old musty smell that took a while to get used to. Beds were comfy. Also The view out my window was covered which was not good. I paid $194 for the night. It wasn't worth that price.

We stayed here for two nights and were very disappointed in our stay. The AC was on constantly the whole time we stayed here, but even then it would get up to 75 in the room and the lowest we could ever get it was 73. We had a hard time sleeping well since we were so warm. The water temperature in the shower was only one temperature. VERY hot. It was extremely uncomfortable to shower. There were no working vents in the bathroom, and mold along the caulking all in the shower. We also noticed the mini fridge we were counting on to save our leftovers was not keeping anything cool, let alone cold. The pool was freezing cold and pretty worn down. The bottom of the pool scratched up our feet a lot. One positive is we did have relatively good experiences with the staff as they were kind to us in our interactions.

This is a typical Hampton Inn, but right from the start I had a negative attitude about it because the entrance was dirty - glass, floor, rug, outside around the door. First impressions, people!! Five or ten minutes of cleaning would have taken care of it. How different this was from another Hampton Inn we stayed in on the same trip. It was spotless from the get-go and got a 5-star rating from me. The hotels were nearly identical, but that negative first impression in Carlsbad pretty much ruined my opinion of the place.

The property is good, and standard Hampton Inn accommodations. Hotel room lighting is terrible! No over head in main room and only two small table lamps with dull bulbs. Just don’t get room 216. There are issues with pigeons where the hotel signage is, which is unfortunately directly out the window of room 216. They have fogged out the window but that means the room is even darker. Pigeon poop can still be seen all over the window and the birds are very noisy. No bother to us since we enjoy the wildlife sounds but may be a problem for others. On the upside for service: hotel maintenance brought brighter bulbs for lamps and brought in an extra lamp for us, which is so great! We are older and do t see as well as we used to so the dim lighting was wreaking havoc 😊. Appreciated how nice they were about it! Overall happy with our stay!

Omg sooo noisy… people walked on the upstairs room so loud. Outside in corridor also.. how am i going to sleep well. Specially my room closed to the elevators. Totally not good

The night shift attendant had NO assemblance of a professional appearance. In shorts and dark socks. Very unkept. Probably should move on from this employee. It detracted from the Hampton Inn experience.

Reservations were made for two adults and two kids (8&6) in a double queen bed room. We were given a single king bed room. Yes, it has a pull out couch, but only had pillows and blankets for the king bed. Bathroom only had towels for two as well. (If 4 people are checking in, pay attention enough to not give us a two person room) All soaps are in wall-mounted pumps too high for kids to reach alone. The hair conditioner and hand soap smelled like Off Mosquito repellent. Biggest complaint is the bed and pillows. Very uncontrollable and old-firm feeling. The property IS about 30 minutes from Carlsbad canyon, so that’s nice, but there are closer and newer hotels. I’d pass on this hotel if given the option again.

The staff was super nice and helpful. The first room and the AC didn't work at all and the staff was super fast and kind about getting our new room ready. So Kudos to the staff. The second room. The AC kept cycling on and off every few minutes but at least it blew cold hair. The entry door had to be lifted up so the deadbolt would lock. The bathroom door didn't lock. The breakfast was not flavorful and bland.

Good location. Next to walmart, chilis and gas station. The check in staff was very friendly. I would stay here again, but there were some minor issues. Unfortunately, the pool was broken. There were some slight problems with the appliances in the room.The mini fridge was broken, the TV did not change channels (but you could hook up a Firestick), the ice machines were broken for a day. There was also mold on the bathroom door. The breakfast on the weekends was great, but there were no rules about attending children, so they were free and sneezing on all the food. On Monday, the food was not stocked after opening so if you came after you did not get any food. There was complimentary cookies in the afternoon and coffee and tea.
