A localização do hotel é excelente. Alessandro, o proprietário, sua esposa Kelly e o staff foram sempre muito atenciosos e gentis, fazendo nos sentir em casa. O café da manhã é muito bom e farto. It a nice boutique hotel, beautifully decorated, very caring staff, nice breakfast, surviving working. Room good size, close to the castle , cathedral and other attractions, lift. The only thing in the evening it is very dark outside and I felt insecure . And another minus- the left luggage kept in the lobby/ nonstick room. I would not like to leave my luggage like this .

We loved the location, the staff and vibe of the hotel. The breakfast was wonderful- quite the spread! There is a pool but it was icy cold and not really usable so I would suggest heating the pool to make it nice for guests to use.

We loved our stay! The breakfast was the best we had on our whole 2 week trip. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the hotel was within walking distance to many of the main attractions. They had valet underground parking that was perfect. The room was clean and they upgraded us free of charge. Overall, we had an amazing experience. I would highly recommend this hotel. We did not use the pool so I can’t comment on it.

A lovely little hidden gem that my husband and I had the pleasure of staying for the last 4 days. The hotel is walkable distance to lots of the tourist attractions and the train station. The staff are fantastic, and seem to really care about making your experience as enjoyable as possible. Everything from booking taxis and table reservations. They are on hand to help. Breakfast is in abundance with so much of their locally sourced items like their pie and canoli. And it's yummy! The beds are very comfortable and the hotel is very funky and unique. There is a nice touch of a welcome basket and the self service water tap. There are some parts of the building that are original behind glass, that absolutely adds to the character. The spa is lovely and the massages are fantastic. I highly recommend getting one. You can really feel that the owners heart has gone into this building. It's a truly lovely hotel that I would return to over and over again. Thank you for a fantastic stay

The staff are over the top helpful, friendly, kind, engaging, and do what they can to make your stay more comfortable. We came in early on the train. They took our bags before room was ready (they were waiting on us in our room by time we came back), and had an amazing breakfast for us (that same morning - which they didn't have to do) - as well as local map, and information for us upon arrival (and plenty of literature/travel books if interested)! They gave us a complimentary upgrade (for a room that was quiet/bigger - lovely), and accommodated our request for wine glasses for nighttime. There is an elevator even (which is a huge plus after a long day on our feet)! We even asked (and they arranged) a personal driver for a day to visit the ruins at Segesta - which was so much better/more convenient than the other trip options available on travel sites. Went way above and beyond what we expected. Would definitely stay again.

We loved the design that combines the old castle building with modern touches, including the scooters and bicycles used as decorations. The service was warm and full of personal touches. The staff was excellent. As a group, the nicest staff I have ever experienced. The room was extraordinarily clean. Location was excellent near the cathedral. Lots of motorbikes but with the windows closed not much of an issue. Plus the food in Parma is better than the food where you are including the breakfast at the hotel which was a feast of Sicilian fruits and charcuterie.

Highlight of this hotel - the staff they were extraordinarily helpful and friendly. However, the area is disgracefully filthy and run down. The building itself is horribly deteriorated and the pumping air Freshener covers up a clear sewer smell. This smell is evident as you enter the reception area as Well as in our bathroom. The furniture is old and rundown as much as other travelers claim it is “artsy”. Motorcycles and bikes in the room? Please! It was Shocking to see so many stellar reviews! I did not want to stay here and struggled to find another hotel. The photos are Greatly misrepresenting of this hotel - Especially the line of overflowing garbage cans as you walk out the front door!!!

We were highly disappointed with this hotel. Our room was located in the attic, and unless you’re under 5'4", you’ll constantly be bumping your head due to the sloped ceiling and lack of headroom. The bed and pillows were extremely hard and uncomfortable. I was traveling with my sister, and to our surprise, there was no bathroom door — meaning one of us had to leave the room whenever the other needed to shower or use the toilet. After we complained, they eventually gave us a makeshift wooden divider, but that’s not what was advertised on Hotels.com. The room was poorly maintained: the paint was peeling, an electrical outlet in the hallway was completely open (a serious safety hazard), and the refrigerator didn’t work. Cleanliness was lacking throughout. The “shampoo” came in tiny ketchup-style packets, the towels were rough and old, and there were no towel bars in the bathroom. The window in the room was an 8" porthole (see photo) Breakfast was mediocre at best — stale pastries and little variety. Overall, this property does not match its online description and needs significant improvement in comfort, safety, and maintenance.

Friendly and helpful staff. We had a corner room with 2 small balconies. Great for watching life go by. Good size, Comfortable bed, shower. Handy to have fridge. Generous continental breakfast. Location was easy short walk from the historical centre and train station only 5 mins walk.

The hotel is in a very conveniently and centrally located neighborhood, which unfortunately also means all street-facing rooms are quite noisy. As far as the interior, Porta di Castro is taking ‘shabby’ chic a bit too far, with comforts and convenience frequently sacrificed for quirkiness. Breakfast is generous but impresses more through quantity than quality. Overall far too expensive for what it is.

What to say. The team could not have been anymore welcoming. There was an issue with the booking but we were upgraded. We had to move rooms but they did all the work. Super helpful, attentive, great with tips and tricks for our visits, and the breakfast was huge! Car looked after and ready when needed (and trust me you don’t want to worry about parking in Palermo). Would recommend to anyone.

The staff at this hotel were excellent! They proactively engaged with me before the trip to ensure everything was in order and to see if I needed any help. They answered all my questions prior to arrival and they arranged airport transportation after our stay. They were also attentive offering water to us whenever we returned (it was very hot in Palermo during our stay). The restaurant they recommended was excellent mom and pop place (not a tourist trap) about a 10 minute walk. The room itself was clean, comfortable, and perfect for our family of four. The pictures of the hotel are accurate. The decor was unique, one of a kind. It’s a unique hotel with history, character, and charm. If in Palermo again, this is where we will stay.

Porta de Castro was a wonderful stay. The only thing is if you want quiet, the street it is located on is busy and quite a bit of honking. Didn’t bother me, popped in some ear buds at night. The breakfast and staff were amazing!!! I felt very welcomed and the staff helped me with any questions, plus lots of suggestions on what to do in the areas. Very convenient to walk to almost any place, including the train station.

The hotel was brilliant. They welcomed us with a little snack and a drink. Breakfast was out of this world. Staff were very pleasant and very helpful. Could not have asked for more. Well done you guys. A lovely hotel very bright and well presented. The only slight downside is the location is a little dirty. However it is close to the attractions like the cathedral i would not walk back in the middle of the night. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

A very unique property with very helpful staff and a charming vibe. They stored a bag for me while I met friends to sail for 8 days, and it was waiting for me in my room when I returned. Porta di Castro B&B was overall wonderful! The breakfast spread cannot be beat. It is a feast every morning! The staff at breakfast were always so friendly and attentive. The inside of the hotel is very charming and unique. Lots of beautiful brick, paintings, and statues that really added a lot of character. The owner kindly upgraded our room free of charge. Just steps away from some of the big landmarks in the city. Great location! 10/10 recommend staying here if you visit Palermo.

Cleanliness was lacking throughout. The “shampoo” came in tiny ketchup-style packets, the towels were rough and old, and there were no towel bars in the bathroom. The window in the room was an 8" porthole (see photo) Breakfast was mediocre at best — stale pastries and little variety. Overall, this property does not match its online description and needs significant improvement in comfort, safety, and maintenance.

Staff was so friendly and helpful with directions and restaurant advice. Amazon food at check in and breakfast. So much good food could not possibly finish it all. So interesting art and collections. Very good location to sights and restaurants. Staff so helpful with car parking assistance. Very clean and comfortable room. Enjoyed this stay very much. Nice touch with little gift at checkout. Highly recommend. Oh, and great coffee!
