Very nice but drinks way overpriced

Had a wonderful time at my brothers wedding What a lovely place with fantastic staff

We got married here 20 years ago and decided to go back for the night. Nothing much has changed. Very quiet. We were the only guests. Room very basic.and could do with updating. Breakfast was loverly. But again we were the only 2 people there. For what we paid was ok. But we wont be returning

Arrived at the hotel, which to their credit allowed us to check in early as we had to get to a wedding before their usual check-in time. Unfortunately the room was absolutely freezing - we thought the heating might be off, but it was actually on. As we were in a rush we turned the heater up and left for the day. We got back late at night to find the room still extremely cold. As the reception building was closed, and we’d previously been told that the hotel was fully booked, we handed the key in to the bar and drove for 2 hours home. Given the circumstances, I asked if we could get our money back. I was told no, as we hadn’t given them a chance to rectify the situation. This is fair enough, but as the reception was closed for the night and we’d been told there were no vacancies, we didn’t realise this was an option and I don’t think it’s unreasonable to ask for a refund. Disappointing - won’t be back and will tell others to avoid.
