A nice hotel, quite basic but overall a nice base for visiting Wookey Hole Caves. Food was excellent although choices were limited at dinner, breakfast menu was good. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. The only negatives were that there are no mini fridges in the rooms (we needed one for baby milk) and they couldn’t supply one and we had to book a table for dinner which was fine but we were allocated a very late slot and found that there were several empty tables when we went to the restaurant 45mins before our slot but we were seated early with no problems however two of the menu choices were unavailable which wasn’t great with a very limited menu.

The hotel is comparable with a Premier Inn. They try to accommodate everyone, but it all seems to revolve around the restaurant area which contains the bar. The only thing missing is a lounge. The breakfast is quite good, but the evening meal menu is very limited. The Wookey Hole Inn has a very good selection of evening meals.

Quirky hotel with a ‘witch’s hat’ tower as a nod to the Wookey Hole Witch. Staff were friendly and helpful at all times, whenever anything was needed. The hotel is surrounded by a huge car park, also used for the Wookey Hole Caves resort, so there is nothing and nowhere for kids to play on outside. The hotel is in decent condition: the rooms have been given a recent makeover, bedding is clean and comfy and the bathroom was clean. However, there are no complimentary toiletries to use, the rooms feel a little ‘tired’ in terms of fixtures and fittings, the only air is through the small opening from the windows or a small fan and tea/coffee facilities are very basic. Breakfast was included in the price. Buffet style, constantly refilled, excellent quality of food and staff instantly responded when asked if something was available. Dinner could be booked as well - the menu was a little limited but food was again of good quality. The only entertainment for families was a very small and limited games room. There was the addition of a free cinema evening twice a week over the summer, which was a nice touch and helped with keeping the littles occupied. Would recommend if you wanted to visit the resort and explore the local area, but not for longer stays.

The hotel was clean, only downside is lots of flies in the restaurant area around the windows and in our room the paintwork was a bit shoddy. Tea and coffee was filled back up daily. Reception staff were friendly enough, as restaurant staff. Did witness one woman in particular who was bringing food out drop food on 3 guests and also some on the floor . We hadn't planned to go in the caves initially, as the hotel was a base more so for us, but we did in the end and they were good..would have been nice to have done an add on ticket at a reduced price as we were staying in the hotel though..i know you can do this whilst booking, but would've been nice to still have had it as an option. All in all avery pleasant place to stay.

Our room no 2 had a terrible filthy wetroom. The bathroom had a bad stale urine smell and was very grimey ingrained into the flooring in patches. The stench came into the bedroom area. This was the worst bathroom I have ever come across in our travels.

Nice hotel, a bit dated in places. Staff pleasant especially Walter, very helpful. Our bed wasnt made at all and room not cleaned. Breakfast could have been a little warmer but bacon bap very nice. All in all a nice place to stay, worth the money we paid

Tired property. Room was very hot at night. A dusty ball of someone else’s hair under the towel rail was pretty gross. Kept awake by door slamming. Staff are friendly and free car parking right next to Wookey hole but wouldn’t stay here again.

Shower head dirty, cheap,unweighted shower curtain. Shaverpointlight inoperative sheet had something brown stuck to it. Breakfast was rubbish. Had to chase for bacon plates,eggs,butter and tea cups. The sausages were rubbery and everything was cold. Staff were inattentive.

Did find our room hot with the extreme weather temp outside, even with the use of fans. Would of been nice to of had a mini fridge in room. Great location for the Wookey caves and Wednesday's circus which was amazing and the other local attractions. Many thanks

Wonderful stay, room extremely spacious , however it was a little warm. Breakfast and evening meal was lovely , however the restaurant can get a little hot in warmer weather. Perhaps fans or more open windows may help. Wonderful surroundings and stunning views. Family friendly hotel, will happily stay again.

Lovely setting and close to cave site. Place is very clean and staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms are showing their age however with bathrooms in need of a refurbishment.

Only negative thing was lack of soundproofing, could hear next doors TV and talking, because we had ajoining doors even though we only had 1 room? Luckily they were reasonably quiet, otherwise it would've been a nightmare

Did not eat at restaurant as were told we couldn't book between 6:30 - 8pm as a large party were in. Bed was very hard and made my back ache. Headboard on bed was very dusty. Spiders in the bathroom. Also noises all night long from the bathroom/toilet and people in other rooms, dogs barking in the corridor. Location of hotel is in the middle of nowhere. It was okay for 1 night but i wouldn't stay here again.

We received excellent customer service from Walter after receiving the wrong advice from Hotels.com. The overall stay was pleasant and a perfect situation to visit Wookey hole with the children. However, I did feel that the breakfast offering was very poor with not a piece of fruit in sight. It could’ve created more for a child’s breakfast also.

Absolutely wonderful staff, they got us fans on an extremely hot day, the check-in staff were 1st class, the bar staff were excellent, I thoroughly recommend this hotel.

The second time have stayed here as its a really good hotel. I had a disabled room which was roomy with a big bathroom with a walk in shower and a sturdy seat. The breakfasts were delicious and most of the choices offered a gluten free option. The staff here are really friendly and efficient and everyone is made to feel welcome. There was a small leak under the washbasin in the disabled toilet. I reported it to Diane on reception and the toilet was repaired with in a couple of minutes! Once again this was a very good stay and it will be my 1st choice anytime I visit Somerset.

Just stayed at this property, the staff were really friendly and helpful and went above and beyond. Thank you to the night manager who came out in the early morning to check I was OK and offer me a coffee when I was sitting out on a bench waiting for the RAC man after an issue with my car. All staff we met were really helpful and friendly, the room was clean and airy - really enjoyed our stay.

First night in restaurant was excellent however the second night was extremely slow nearly two hours between ordering and finally finishing. If you had stuck to the regime off staying only hour and half we would not have been able to enjoy a pudding. I will emphasize that the food was good quality. Room was excellent and very quite and staff were very attentive would stay again

I tried to the change the date of stay as I could not make it due to an emergency. The manager was quite unfriendly and didn’t even take my request into consideration. Very unhappy with the way the manager dealt with my problem.

Hotel was very clean and welcoming. The staff couldn’t do enough for you ranging from the reception staff to the lady who comes every afternoon to see if you need anything. Never had that in any hotel we have stayed in. Would recommend to anyone.

Amazing hotel and the staff were great, could not of been more helpful after a last minute booking at 9pm after the original hotel we booked (The Crossways) was totally unacceptable to stay in due to our room being directly above the speakers for a Christmas Party they were hosting. Noise in the room was so loud no one would of been able to sleep and given we had a 6 year old child with us even more shocking they put us in that room. Room was spacious and comfy, location was amazing as we had the Xmas trip booked at Wookey Hole and the breakfast was by far one of the best we have had staying in hotels or even a restaurant. Highly recommended as a place to stay if going to Wookey Hole or just visiting the area.
Amazing hotel and the staff were great, could not of been more helpful after a last minute booking at 9pm after the original hotel we booked (The Crossways) was totally unacceptable to stay in due to our room being directly above the speakers for a Christmas Party they were hosting. Noise in the room was so loud no one would of been able to sleep and given we had a 6 year old child with us even more shocking they put us in that room. Room was spacious and comfy, location was amazing as we had the Xmas trip booked at Wookey Hole and the breakfast was by far one of the best we have had staying in hotels or even a restaurant. Highly recommended as a place to stay if going to Wookey Hole or just visiting the area.

Shower head dirty, cheap,unweighted shower curtain. Shaverpointlight inoperative sheet had something brown stuck to it. Breakfast was rubbish. Had to chase for bacon plates,eggs,butter and tea cups. The sausages were rubbery and everything was cold. Staff were inattentive.

The hotel is comparable with a Premier Inn. They try to accommodate everyone, but it all seems to revolve around the restaurant area which contains the bar. The only thing missing is a lounge. The breakfast is quite good, but the evening meal menu is very limited. The Wookey Hole Inn has a very good selection of evening meals.

Dreadful experience. Virtually no public transport and when there was it was never on time. Taxi companies fully aware of this and take full advantage tariff wise to ridiculous levels. Eg 12 mile fare costing £60.

Did not eat at restaurant as were told we couldn't book between 6:30 - 8pm as a large party were in. Bed was very hard and made my back ache. Headboard on bed was very dusty. Spiders in the bathroom. Also noises all night long from the bathroom/toilet and people in other rooms, dogs barking in the corridor. Location of hotel is in the middle of nowhere. It was okay for 1 night but i wouldn't stay here again.

If you're visiting Wookey Hole caves/park, then this is a great stop over. A stones throw from the park entrance. We booked inclusive breakfast, but decided to have dinner too, both were excellent. Good size portions and very tasty, for breakfast there is a nice continental buffet selection with cooked breakfast also available. Staff were friendly and helpful. The small games room is all it is, with paying arcade machines, and a soft block part for tots.

Staff pleasant no issues however I opted for breakfast thinking location would have limited options. Not sure why i was expecting a 'nice' breakfast, but I was dissappointed. Im baffled and annoyed that chef / kitchen staff can look at a plate of inedible food and think its ok to give to guests. Bacon hard and obviously sat around a long time, sausages sat on solidifying bed of fat and never seen hashbrowns both overcooked and dripping in fat , absolutely disgusting. Why do they think its ok to feed people food like this, surely at least one member of staff recognises poor quality . Only items edible were beans, mushrooms and tomatoes. Give breakfast a miss!

Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was basic but clean and a good size. The shower was only luke warm so it was more of a cold shower. Unfortunately the food let the hotel down. We were politely asked to order quickly as the chef was closing the kitchen due to a prior engagement he had. They didn’t have a lot of what was on the menu and what we did have for our meal was not nice. Also they sent out our starter with our main. We hoped breakfast would be better but it really wasn’t. The grounds are lovely it’s just a shame the food and really let it down.

Great stay at the hotel whilst visiting Wookey Hole, all staff very friendly. Ignore some reviews about the restaurant we thought both the breakfast and dinner were great, actually one of the hottest cooked breakfast I have had at a hotel, dinner was also good portions and not … if you have young children if you come out of the hotel and go up the steps to the right where lodges are loads of rabbits running about along the hedge row and field. If you get cheese in nearby cheddar the hotel will also happily store overnight for you in the fridge till you depart

The room itself was fine; clean and comfortable, but nothing special. Location was great if you want to go to Wookey Hole Cave. My big complaint was the breakfast. You do have to pay extra and it was way overpriced for the lack luster quality. There was very little variety and what was provided was stale.

Hotel in beautiful valley. Restaurant has big windows for the views. Food and service excellent. We had dinner and breakfast. Very helpful friendly staff on reception and restaurant. Food is pub style. Good value. Comfy bed. Bathroom with bat and shower. Need shower cap uf not wanting to wash hair. Hotel is opposite the mill which houses theatre and is the entrance for Wookey Hole Caves park . We were lucky as there was a talent show in the evening. Wookey Hole Caves were great fun, do go to circus shows in the theatre. Wookey Hole attraction consists of: * Caves tour - we did normal walking, but can book for climbing pot-holing adventure * animatronic dinosaur garden * circus shows * 4D cinema * hall of mirrors * arcades * cave diving exhibition * local archaeology * paper making demonstrations Can go around as many times as you wish Recommend the circus show

Nice hotel lovely location. The room was clean and breakfast very good with a lots of choice . The only thing i could improve it was a door from balcony could have stopper so you could leave open especially in the hot summer days .

Lovely hotel, room spacious, clean and cool with a powerful fan supplied. Games room really enjoyed by our grandchildren, could do with a change machine though. Restaurant served lovely buffet breakfast and good selection of evening meals. Seemed a bit disorganised but it was busy most evenings. Definitely stay here again as very convenient for Wookey Hole, Cheddar and Weston Super Mare.
