Woodland Grange

A very comfortable stay with spacious rooms and a comfortable bed.

Really like the hotel. Main downside is the lack of air con in the rooms. Doesn't matter how many small fans they put in your room, it's stifling and very little sleep was had.

Breakfast is above standard. Room is basic.

The room was very spacious however the bathroom sink was cracked & the bathroom vent didn't work. The table in the room was unbalanced & most items just slip off. A little more attention to detail would have helped as there was also a mark on the pillow case. The actual room planning could have been better in my opinion. Although there was a generous length of hanging rail there were only 4 hangars & no full length hanging space available. There was 1 shallow draw along with 2 small draws in the bedside tables. Not enough room to put clothing in. There could have been more power sockets available for use. There was 1 comfortable chair although it was a double room & there was plenty of room for 2 chairs. The room was very hot as the window was in direct sun for most of the day. We left the curtains closed to block it but they were opened so the room was very hot again. However we would stay again. All the staff we had any interaction with were excellent. Friendly, polite & very helpful. The food was good although a limited menu. It would have been nice to have a plain pork sausage rather than pork & leek but that's personal choice. The location was very convenient for visiting in the area. Very quiet except for banging doors. Not a bad hotel but some further attention could improve the experience.

great stay, but needs air conditioning in rooms as too hot with sun blazing through and 32 degrees outside, even with curtains shut and glazed patio door open all night ( security risk I wasn't happy with as our patio door was accessible via a roof top from other rooms) a small fan provided but not enough to provide a good nights sleep unfortunately in hot temperature, we would of loved to stay again but probably wont if no air con available, which is disappointing as its a lovely venue in a lovely setting :-( .
