Lovely location at Gatehouse. Very helpful staff. Excellent food and swimming pool. Very accommodating as we had our grandson with us as an addition to the original booking

We have mixed feelings about our stay at the Cally Palace. In its time it has obviously been a very impressive building in amazing surroundings. As with a lot of these historic buildings, the upkeep is a mammoth task and financial burden. The public rooms show the sense of history of the property, and create a relaxed environment. The bedrooms in the main building are roomy and in character with this period property, giving a sense of the grandeur of better times. We had our dog with staying with us, so access to some of the rooms (main dining room and lounge) wasn't possible, but we dined in the orangery adjacent to the bar and used the adjacent lounge. The grounds are beautiful, plenty of woodland and pathways around the golf course to explore. The leisure facilities are good too, with a small workout area, sauna, jacuzzi and pool. Special thanks to Aaron on reception who made our arrival, check-in and departure a friendly, helpful and smooth experience.
