I was initially concerned about the distance from the station to the hotel, but during my 2-night stay, it wasn’t an issue at all. In fact, I really enjoyed the walk while taking in the surrounding scenery — it only took about 7 minutes at a normal walking pace for an adult male. All the staff were very polite and kind. The facilities are a bit old, but it didn’t bother me — the view around the hotel more than made up for it. And don’t miss the sauna — it was one of the highlights of my stay!

The breakfast was awesome but the parking sucked. We had to park down the hill from the room. The WiFi also was bad. We could only get it to work from the kitchenette table. The owner blamed it on our “American phones” and wouldn’t even make an effort to troubleshoot the issue. We were on the bottom of three floors and, despite our three phones and laptop not getting WiFi (except at the table) the owner insisted that no one had ever before complained about poor WiFi. He was rude and insulting and then later explained that is just a cultural thing and we should just ignore it.

Very quiet location about 5 to 7 minutes north of the busy tourist strip. It is convenient and close enough to walk to the busy shopping and restaurants in about 5 to 7 minutes yet far enough to be quiet and allow the enjoyment of the great mountain views. The staff is very friendly and the service was excellent. The breakfast was good with lots of options. parking is convenient on the property. The hotel has a dining terrace with spectacular Mountain View’s. The balcony views are great from multiple sides of the hotel. Excellent value for the location, views, and great service.

We loved this hotel! The room was nice with a lovely view of the alps. It was pretty spacious with a fridge and we got a kettle on request. It had a good breakfast spread. Staff is very helpful and polite. Free Parking outside the hotel was a huge convenience. They had complementary cake offerings daily in the afternoon and we enjoyed some lovely confectioneries. Beautiful view from the restaurants. It was our best experience amongst all the European countries we visited and stayed.

Great apartment near the main hotel . Breakfast included at the hotel which was a great start to the day . Apartment was very nice , ground floor windows opened onto a large patio overlooking the mountains . Parking easy and free. We did battle with the washing machine!!! May have been us rather than the machines . There was a fly festival in our apartment the week we were there so had to deal with them . Area delightful . So much to do , so many walks and hikes . It’s a decent walk into Grindelwald which is a long way back when you’re tired . Notes that all taxis start their fares at CHF20: we paid CHF25 to get from the station to the apartment . Ouch. The location and free parking were great. It is walkable to both the bus station and the central area of Grindelwald. The unit we were in was clean and comfortable. Hotel Kirchbuehl is a fantastic hotel to stay while visiting the Grindelwald and the tourist sites within Jungfraujoch region. The hotel provided a scrumptious breakfast and two excellent restaurants for dining. Will return in winter to fully utilise the ski in and out features of the the Hotel Kirchbuehl’s location.

This hotel is so charming. The rooms are quaint. The whole property is what you would expect for a Swiss boutique hotel in the Alps. The setting is absolutely picturesque. The staff is friendly. The do-it-yourself laundry is a little bit of a hike and not convenient. There is only one washing machine and dryer. So, it makes it difficult to do laundry. I enjoyed the whole staff. The matriarch/owner could be more friendly. But, that didn’t affect our stay at all.

The only complaint I have is that the outlets didn’t work that great with my grounded universal converter. The view was absolutely breathtaking. The room is extremely clean and the bed was comfortable. Staff were all friendly and accommodating.

This is is a beautiful hotel right at the foot of a mountain with amazing views. The room was very clean . The only negative was they even though I paid for a 4 occupancy room they charge me $261 for “an extra guest”

Incredible hotel with incredible and helpful staff! Sandro was the most helpful staff member we have ever come across in my travels. He spent the time to help us with our itinerary and ordering tickets for us. He went out of his way as well to refrigerate our food. The rest of the staff were amazing as well. The views from our room in the morning couldn't be better! The rooms were clean and they provided amazing amenities. Restaurants are located right in the lobby. Great location as well. Highly recommend. One of our favorite stays ever.

Ein super schönes Hotel mit absolut freundlichen und zuvorkommenden Mitarbeitern. Das Zimmer war sehr geräumig und super sauber. Das Essen (wir hatten HP) war Spitzenklasse (vor allem das Buffet am Freitag!!!). Dies war sicherlich nicht unser letzter Aufenthalt im Hotel Kirchbühl.
Ein super schönes Hotel mit absolut freundlichen und zuvorkommenden Mitarbeitern. Das Zimmer war sehr geräumig und super sauber. Das Essen (wir hatten HP) war Spitzenklasse (vor allem das Buffet am Freitag!!!). Dies war sicherlich nicht unser letzter Aufenthalt im Hotel Kirchbühl.

A stunning view of the Eiger from our balcony. A beautiful, spacious room with a large bathroom which included a bath and a bath pack. A delicious breakfast buffet is included. It is a little bit out of Grindelwald, which we liked as it was so peaceful. They will pick you up and drop you off at the station on arrival snd departure. You can walk to the hotel (15 mins from the station) but it is quite steep. Alternatively, you can take a bus which is free to all visitors staying at Grindelwald. The staff were lovely and made sure we didn’t leave anything behind. Thanks Miguel, for the ride back to the station.

The apartment is outdated and the room is old. Breakfast is the best thing - Linda the staff is the best. Area is easy walk to the main attraction and convenient Overall probably won’t stay again due to the room condition.

Nice hotel but the rooms could use some serious help; the showers are insanely small, hard for even an average-sized guy like me to get around in. Long downhill/uphill walk into town, so while the location provides beautiful views, it is isolated.

A stunning view of the Eiger from our balcony. A beautiful, spacious room with a large bathroom which included a bath and a bath pack. A delicious breakfast buffet is included. It is a little bit out of Grindelwald, which we liked as it was so peaceful. They will pick you up and drop you off at the station on arrival snd departure. You can walk to the hotel (15 mins from the station) but it is quite steep. Alternatively, you can take a bus which is free to all visitors staying at Grindelwald. The staff were lovely and made sure we didn’t leave anything behind. Thanks Miguel, for the ride back to the station.

Incredible hotel with incredible and helpful staff! Sandro was the most helpful staff member we have ever come across in my travels. He spent the time to help us with our itinerary and ordering tickets for us. He went out of his way as well to refrigerate our food. The rest of the staff were amazing as well. The views from our room in the morning couldn't be better! The rooms were clean and they provided amazing amenities. Restaurants are located right in the lobby. Great location as well. Highly recommend. One of our favorite stays ever.

The location and free parking were great. It is walkable to both the bus station and the central area of Grindelwald. The unit we were in was clean and comfortable. The only negative thing was the staff. Everyone’s attitude was not friendly or welcoming. Everything else including the breakfast was good.

This hotel is so charming. The rooms are quaint. The whole property is what you would expect for a Swiss boutique hotel in the Alps. The setting is absolutely picturesque. The staff is friendly. The do-it-yourself laundry is a little bit of a hike and not convenient. There is only one washing machine and dryer. So, it makes it difficult to do laundry. I enjoyed the whole staff. The matriarch/owner could be more friendly. But, that didn’t affect our stay at all.

I would have give 5 stars, but the only downside is that you should have a car to reach the property, otherwise you have to walk up a steep hill to reach from the closest bus stop or a dining place which could be challenge for seniors

Nice hotel but the rooms could use some serious help; the showers are insanely small, hard for even an average-sized guy like me to get around in. Long downhill/uphill walk into town, so while the location provides beautiful views, it is isolated.

Magnificent mountain views. Although it is not close to the train station, everything is within walkable distance. (10 minutes walk to all facilities) Staff are all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is delicious with sweeping choices.

Great apartment near the main hotel . Breakfast included at the hotel which was a great start to the day . Apartment was very nice , ground floor windows opened onto a large patio overlooking the mountains . Parking easy and free. We did battle with the washing machine!!! May have been us rather than the machines . There was a fly festival in our apartment the week we were there so had to deal with them . Area delightful . So much to do , so many walks and hikes . It’s a decent walk into Grindelwald which is a long way back when you’re tired . Notes that all taxis start their fares at CHF20: we paid CHF25 to get from the station to the apartment . Ouch. Buses are free with your guest card . Hotel staff are lovely . It’s a lovely place

We loved this hotel! The room was nice with a lovely view of the alps. It was pretty spacious with a fridge and we got a kettle on request. It had a good breakfast spread. Staff is very helpful and polite. Free Parking outside the hotel was a huge convenience. They had complementary cake offerings daily in the afternoon and we enjoyed some lovely confectioneries. Beautiful view from the restaurants. It was our best experience amongst all the European countries we visited and stayed.

Hotel Kirchbuehl is a fantastic hotel to stay while visiting the Grindelwald and the tourist sites within Jungfraujoch region. The hotel provided a scrumptious breakfast and two excellent restaurants for dining. Will return in winter to fully utilise the ski in and out features of the the Hotel Kirchbuehl’s location.

For the price it's a bit disappointing. There was a hair in the new towel, the bath tub was dirty (with some grey spots) and I had to clean it before using. The spa only open from 3-7pm, so for anyone who's hiking it's basically almost impossible to use it. We waited for 20 minutes to be seated at the restaurant. It was all after a multi days hike. We asked if there's anywhere we can sit while we wait and we didn't get enough help. There were plenty of seats.

Great Eiger and glacier view from balcony. Two bathrooms was great for kids. Views from the restaurant terrace was amazing. Hotel shuttle from train station was very helpful because it’s on the other side of town.

My family and I stayed in the Junior Suite, expecting the quality and hospitality of a four-star, family-owned hotel. Instead, it was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences we’ve had.
