Very comfortable rooms and beds with a nice shower. The hot tub and saunas were great after our long hikes. The property also has kayaks to take out on the lake, which my kids really enjoyed.

Great customer service. We enjoyed a comfortable and quiet stay. We had a delicious dinner at the on site restaurant. The continental breakfast (not included) was delicious and full of options. Family friendly. Many comfortable locations to enjoy the surrounding views. FYI …The desk clerk mentioned to let him know if we were going to use the hot tub as this would take approx. 1 hour to heat up. We didn’t end up using the hot tub.

Our recent 4 day stay at Hotel Kriunes was absolutely wonderful. Great views from the dining room, large sized rooms and very convenient parking. It was the perfect launching point for exploring Reykjavik and the rest of southern Iceland.

This is by far the BEST hotel we have stayed in so far! The staff was friendly and helpful. The hot tubs and saunas were clean. The hotel instantly smells delightful when you walk in, and the food is lovely. If we were not moving around the island we would just stay here every night!

Beautiful spacious rooms, the service here is excelent we had a very friendly receptionist check us in and offered a wakeup call if the northern lights showed up. Its so far the best cost to value ratio hotel ive stayed in iceland, great for birding if you like that. Hot tub is only open from 4pm to 10pm but it is geothermaly fed. Food in the resturant is fantastic, breakfast was great theres a mimosa bar thats included with breakfast.

Beautiful property on a lake with many nice perks. However, the water machine/ boiler, did not work and a major light was out in our bathroom. We were too late to enjoy the hot tub, etc… We were supposed to have credit for a beer?? They said at check in. Hmm. However, it is a very well maintained hotel.

Beautiful room in quiet area near water. Hot Tubs and sauna are open in the afternoon/evening and there is a fantastic massage chair in the changing rooms, The front staff were extremely helpful and kind.

We enjoyed our stay and hotel was very nice. I do feel it was a bit overpriced but so was everything else in the area. Breakfast was not the best and would recommend finding a cafe. Parking was very full while we were there but easy access from second lot.

Really cool place. Staff was completely amazing. Above and beyond. And the breakfast was one of the most amazing I’ve ever had! I’d go back just for that!! The berry juice was so good, and so much variety. The restaurant looks out over the lake. Hot tub was just ok. Area around the hotel very pretty. Room was very spacious and well appointed, if dated in style. Removed one star for a musty smell and the very weird decor, including a strange and out of place Mexico theme.

Quite simply, incredible. From the moment we arrived we received a warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble throughout our stay. The location is beautiful, clean warm spacious rooms and so very peaceful. We have travelled far and wide across many countries in many hotels and Kriunes tops the list. When we return to Iceland we will not consider anywhere else other than Kriunes. A huge thank you from my wife and I and we hope to return and live the experience all over again.

The location is beautiful, clean warm spacious rooms and so very peaceful. We have travelled far and wide across many countries in many hotels and Kriunes tops the list. Beautiful view, right on the lake, with floor-to-ceiling windows the entire width of the room and excellent black-out curtains. There are nice walking paths in the national park across the lake a short drive away. The room and the bed were larger than other places we stayed in Iceland. The on-site restaurant was excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is on the outskirts of Reykjavik in a residential area. Very quiet.

We spent two nights at Hotel Kriunes and could not have been more pleased. The room was spacious and clean. The beds provided a warm soft place to sleep. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The location was refreshing and the food in the hotel restaurant was excellent!

Wonderful hotel on a beautiful lake, just outside of Reykjavik. Much better than staying in the city if you prefer nature & peace. The room was newly renovated and very comfortable, with direct lake access. The restaurant was lovely with great vegan options. Staff was very accommodating. The bonus was a hot tub & infrared sauna to relax in after a dip in the cold lake! Was pleasantly surprised by such a price-friendly hotel.

We were not given a room that resembled the picture of the room I saw online. We were supposed to a a sleek, modern room with large glass windows overlooking a beautiful lake! We got a ground floor room with mismatched old furniture, an old disgusting spa with a hand-held shower that my 79 yr old hubby had to crowd into! We had some smaller windows with a view of a wall and a cinder driveway. Beyond that we could see the lake! Definitely not what we thought we reserved and paid for!!

Absolutely fantastic from start to finish. All staff were brilliant and couldn’t do enough for you- Especially Rockis (not sure on the spelling!) he was great and really went above and beyond for all the guests there. Our room was beautiful, spacious, clean and couldn’t be faulted, we had a beautiful view of the lake where we were lucky enough to step out and see the northern lights! Good location, close enough to everything (16 min drive to centre) but far enough out that there is no light pollution for the auroras. Would go back to this hotel in a heartbeat- well done to all and thank you for a fabulous stay!

Very unique Hotel in a stunning location, staff were all really helpful and friendly. We had a panoramic corner suite with stunning views to wake up to. Great location for seeing the lights with not too much light pollution. We ate in the Hotel both nights and the food was delicious. Highly recommended.

We came in late after long day . The room was ok but the building is pretty old , the light in the bathroom and main bed room is not working . We try to ask the staffs to help but it’s really late ( we checked in after 11pm) staffs was not at the desk by the time we needed help with. We are group travel and the coffee in the room only has two capsules. We have to go to the dining room to get our coffee .

Beautiful spacious rooms, the service here is excelent we had a very friendly receptionist check us in and offered a wakeup call if the northern lights showed up. Its so far the best cost to value ratio hotel ive stayed in iceland, great for birding if you like that. Hot tub is only open from 4pm to 10pm but it is geothermaly fed. Food in the resturant is fantastic, breakfast was great theres a mimosa bar thats included with breakfast.

This hotel had the most amazing night staff. He bent over backwards when we arrived late from our flight, personally making us food and serving drinks after the kitchen closed. We got great recommendations and the breakfasts and dinners were fantastic. We got an upgraded room with an picturesque view of the lake at sunrise. It's a fantastic place!

Beautiful view, right on the lake, with floor-to-ceiling windows the entire width of the room and excellent black-out curtains. There are nice walking paths in the national park across the lake a short drive away. The room and the bed were larger than other places we stayed in Iceland. The on-site restaurant was excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is on the outskirts of Reykjavik in a residential area. Very quiet.

This hotel is a rare gem. It is quiet and tranquil, ideally located just outside Reykjavik. Every room has a lovely view across the lake with walking paths if you want to take a stroll. Even the common areas provide great views and comfortable couches to relax on with family and friends. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. They gave us excellent guidance so for where to go to view the nearby eruption (8/22/24) as well as the local cultural festival (8/24/24) in the city. I strongly recommend including the breakfast with your stay. They provide a great variety of options including both hot and cold options as well as fresh baked bread and pastries... and the food is excellent. We also had dinner there twice and those meals were also amazing.

The Hotel is tucked away in a new housing development but has a surprisingly nice location along the lake. It is a nice place to stay immediately outside of Reykjavik. The interior of the hotel includes a nice dining room with a beautiful view of the lake. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed seeing the Northern Lights over the lake during our stay.

Very unique Hotel in a stunning location, staff were all really helpful and friendly. We had a panoramic corner suite with stunning views to wake up to. Great location for seeing the lights with not too much light pollution. We ate in the Hotel both nights and the food was delicious. Highly recommended.

Our recent 4 day stay at Hotel Kriunes was absolutely wonderful. Great views from the dining room, large sized rooms and very convenient parking. It was the perfect launching point for exploring Reykjavik and the rest of southern Iceland.

Lovely hotel within driving distance of Reykjavik city centre. Location by the lake is very pretty. Shame there were so many potholes on the access road though (although it did look like this was being improved).

It was a lovely hotel, restaurant on the lake was fabulous with great view (despite the rain), and delicious too. We didn't have to head to downtown for a meal for our last night in Iceland. Clean, spacious room, and felt very Viking-like. Super nice staff, I highly recommend. The road was winding to get there, but after a week on the island, we weren't deterred. We'd go back again.

Really cool place. Staff was completely amazing. Above and beyond. And the breakfast was one of the most amazing I’ve ever had! I’d go back just for that!! The berry juice was so good, and so much variety. The restaurant looks out over the lake. Hot tub was just ok. Area around the hotel very pretty. Room was very spacious and well appointed, if dated in style. Removed one star for a musty smell and the very weird decor, including a strange and out of place Mexico theme.

We enjoyed our stay and hotel was very nice. I do feel it was a bit overpriced but so was everything else in the area. Breakfast was not the best and would recommend finding a cafe. Parking was very full while we were there but easy access from second lot.

The room itself was quite spacious and very clean. We had amazing views of the sunrise in the morning however the road down to the hotel is quite gravelly and bendy so extra caution required when driving at night. The hotel restaurant was ok but the service was quite slow.

Although the property is located in an amazing spot, the basic amenities such as mattresses, pillows and towels are worn out. General maintenance is lacking as well and the entrance lobby appeared very tired. The hotels water supply smells of sulfur as if it is straight out of a geothermal spring without being treated. Access to the property is through a pot hole filled gravel road.
