Everything was good. Rooms are very small, but that was expected. Didn't realize they have a number of unattached units that house many of the rooms. The shower is not a stall it is just part of the bathroom, so the floor gets pretty wet. Breakfast was awesome and the hotel has a beautiful view. Nice area to walk around or use the hotel supplied bicycles. I'd stay again.

Hotel is well located for a stop over, about a 15 walk into the harbour area. There is no lift and there are stairs to all rooms! Very bad design for a modern hotel. Shower was awful and soaked the whole bathroom. Would not recommend.

Free parking, though the car park filled up in evening and had to park in unmarked area (checked ok with reception). The hotel has several buildings so don't unload vehicle until checked in. Their website does warn you about no elevators in the main building. The room was fine for a night. Bed comfortable and black out curtains that covered the window!! Bathroom is a little tight with old style shower curtain and bath combination but no problem for us. Breakfast was a reasonable range of items. The staff were very efficient in cleaning and clearing tables whilst ensuring items didn’t run out. Hofn has several places to eat in addition to the hotel restaurant and a couple of fuel stations for topping up.

Awesome hotel situated between the mountains and ocean with a lively crowd downstairs enjoying the nice looking restaurant. A short walk from the soup company in a quant small town. Front desk was friendly and laundered our clothing, thanks! Hotel was gorgeous inside and out.

The hotel was ok. I was surprised to find that our rooms were in a different building than the hotel office. We unpacked all of our bags and had to walk over to another building across the street for our room. The buildings seemed less updated than the hotel office. Staff was great.

We thought we saw a pool listed in the amenities, but were then directed to the public pool down the street. Front desk check in staff seem bother by all of our questions. However, dinner staff were amazing!

Absolutely loved our stay. Hotel is clean, updated, comfortable rooms and bed and excellent staff. I recommend dinner there and the happy hour. Breakfast was perfect as well. Wish we had more time so we could have taken advantage of the bikes.

Fantastic pizza! Good customer service and very efficient. Rooms are simple, clean and decent. Kettle provided. Breakfast is sufficient. Dining area is well sized. Rooms are nice and warm. I would stay again

At 309 USD per night we were anticipating a very nice experience. After all it was the most expensive hotel of the entire trip. So far it has been the worst. Sewer smell in the room, moldy smell in the bathroom. Small room with no closet and barely any space to put the luggage. No coffee maker, no fridge, you get a couple of powder coffee pouches. The looks of the common areas are nice, building from 1965 without elevator. But the looks of the bathroom is that of an abandoned hospital, the shower is bare concrete walls. Room 301 however offers nice views.

Excellent service, clean room, safe, and quiet. This place checked all of the boxes for me and even had a hotel kitty that I got to pet. Breakfast had an amazing spread and stayed well stocked. Interactions with the hotel staff were all nice and accommodating. This was a great place to choose to stay. We absolutely loved staying at this property.

The room size was ok but the bathroom was not good. There was a shower curtain but no tub so the water went all over the bathroom. Accordingly it was all wett and even when we first entered the room, it smelled humid. The whole room was actually smelling kinda bad. The room was not very clean but it was okay. Linen was ripped. TV was good, with Icelandic and UK channels. Breakfast was not the best, actually our worst so far in Iceland. Coffee was bad, watery. Personal at breakfast was kinda slow and not attentive.

Stayed in a triple, this hotel is spread out in multiple buildings. Ours was nice but a small room for a triple. Fine for one night but we couldn’t open a suitcase and the doors at the same time. Also a lack of plugs, had to use the kettle either right next to the bed or in the water closet

Convenient for touring the south coast. Helpful staff. We had a lot of luggage and our room was on the 3rd floor. They have no elevator, but staff carried our suitcases up the stairs. Excellent breakfast buffet.

Nice and clean. Good location. The lady in the front desk was SUPER kind and helpful! Our car was broken that morning. She helped me call the rental company and road service very patiently and comforted me all the time. It was not enough just to say “Thank you”.

Our stay was really great. It became possible, because of amazing people here. We weren’t aware that there is no public transportation or even taxi around. We don’t drive… Our dream trip was about to end without beginning… But kind big heart Alexandra helped us and drove us to Crystal ice cave meeting point and back! Overall, when our flight was canceled and we were about to cry, Ms Veronica offered to drive us to Reykjavik (which is six-seven hours to drive from here!)… I don’t have a words to fully thank those people! I can’t imagine what could we do without them?! Hotel Hofn is small, clean, beautiful with delicious food in their restaurant. I want everyone knows how good it is! I will write everywhere my story. I hope and wish prosperity and happiness for people who have a heart! Maria Morozova.

The gentleman at the reception was super rude. Rooms were tiny and bathrooms tinier. When we pay close to $600 /night, I think it is fair to expect slightly better than basic. We were happy to stay there for only one night.

Very friendly staff and incredibly accommodating after our flight was cancelled they went above and beyond to arrange a room for another night. They didn’t have to do this but made us feel very welcome and we very much enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend!

Such a lovely and very clean hotel. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant on site was delicious. The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood close to the water and has plenty of gas stations, places to eat and a shopping center with a pharmacy. Plenty of parking and a good breakfast buffet and staff. Hotel has plenty of sitting areas to look out at the ocean or to get out of the room.

Great restaurant. Nice location. Room very clean and comfortable. Easy and fast check in and out. Walking trail by the see next to hotel. Quiet area. Walls a little too thin so you can hear the neighbours but after 10 pm very quiet. Would stay here again.

We used this property as it was just off the Highway 1 route heading east. The hotel was well maintained and looked very neat. The staff at reception were very friendly and helpful and breakfast was great with nice staff refilling and cleaning tables efficiently. The rooms are compact but with a great shower and the WiFi worked really well. One small criticism is the walls between rooms are super thin so we got to hear the next rooms travel plans in great detail and then the snoring! Otherwise a great place to overnight on route.
